HP OS/Software :: Pavilion G6 - Laptop With Window 8.1 Is Stuck On Installing Updates
Mar 25, 2014
my 12 month old Laptop Pavillion G6 (which has been the worst computer I have ever owned!) is stuck on an update. The screen has been showing the message "Keep your PC on until this is done... installing update 1 of 2" for 12 hours (overnight).
Just over 2 weeks ago it had a problem with connecting to WiFi - which also seemed to be related to Windows updates - I sorted that one out and it has been fine since then. Started an automatic update last night and now it is stuck.
I keep getting blue screens complaining about igdpmd64.sys x00000050. I noticed on the day that I suddenly started getting blue screens Windows installed a bunch of windows 7 x64 updates. Does the recent windows updates can cause this?
At times I cannot even reboot normally when it occurs. I have had to restore to a previous version.
I have a system hp pavilion dv4 2101tu. My 320 GB internal hard drive got corrupted and i just bought 500GB new wd black internal hard drive. the problem is that when i am going to install window , i am facing problem . Just tell me that is there any prerequisite for installing a new hard drive into laptop. How to update bios information where it's shows i.e. internal hard disk size is 320 GB.
When I power on my HP laptop it is asking me for an admin password and I clearly don't know it. After 3 attempts I get a system disable with a key: 61773846What do I do to unlock this??
I just got around to trying out this laptop from a few years back. It was stored and before that it had only been used a few times.
It's been freezing *every* time I use it. Mouse just freezes in place and it's stuck. I tried doing a fresh install with all of the system disks and it still froze. I then tried to upgrade it to Windows 7, it still froze and it was pretty slow, so I did another fresh install with the system disks. Now I'm back to WinXP and it's still freezing.
I checked the event logs and it doesn't seem to register anything - maybe freezing too quickly? It seems to freeze whenever I do heavy web browsing or transferring files on my network via wireless, But I can't be sure and that might be a false lead, it just seems to happen when I'm doing those.
I think it may be a broken fan, The center fan runs smoothly, but the fan with the cooling unit on the side never seems to run at all. Is there any way to tell if the fan is broken? Is there any way to manually make it run so I can check if it's working? Should it be on all the time, or does it only come on when it gets hot?

I just bought my Acer Aspire V5-552g a week ago. Everything seems to be working fine. However, Windows advised me to install updates which I did. After installing the updates the touch gestures are not working anymore. I tried updating my drivers, which I downloaded from the Acer support site, but it did not work. All gestures are not working. What I need to do. Is this a result of updating Windows? How can I undo the update?
I have dell inspiron 3420 core i3 which comes with window 7 home basic 64x and I upgrade it to window 7 ultimate 64x.. but now i want to restore it to its original factory setting to home basic 64x... When I press F8 and select system repair after that select language then for log in it shows me two account one is mine one which i created and the other I don,t know where it comes from. I have installed windows XP professional OS after changing the BIOS settings for onboard devices (In BIOS:
Onboard Devices -> Flash Cache Module -> Set Off Onboard Devices -> SATA Operation -> Set ATA)
Can i will be able to install the windows vista OS after installing windows Xp with the same BIOS settings for onboard devices (In BIOS: Onboard Devices -> Flash Cache Module -> Set Off Onboard Devices -> SATA Operation -> Set ATA)
I just got a Acer Aspire V3 771-6605 with Windows 8.1. My touch pad wouldn't scroll or respond to any finger gestures, so I tried installing the ELANTECH and Synaptics touch pad drivers from the acer support site for my laptop. However, after I restarted the computer I keep getting stuck at the screen right before where you put in your password (the lock screen?). The only keys that seem to do anything are the function keys.
Once win7 comes out, I wish to upgrade. How can I do this? I want to keep up the back up partition of vista and install 7(I want the backup partition just to be safe.)Would I just hit f10 on the loading screen and click use disks to format and insert the windows 7 cds.

This is third time the same thing is happening to me. After i install some updates, display dimms, and background light became darker. When i restart computer, and enter BIOS, or if i am just looking at the screen before i log on to windows, backlight is normal.
Most of the time when restarting laptop gets stuck at restarting. i have to pull out the battery and put it again n then on the laptop. sometimes the same goes for shutting down....the circle moves endlessly. And always restarting taking too much time almost 1---2 minutes.
I am using windows 7 (64 bit) with graphic card Radeon hd 5600/5700. When i turn on my laptop it stucks on welcome screen i have noticed it has created a folder with name "new folder " on desktop having driver files in it.I have moved that folder but it is created again after repairing window . mostly when my laptop stucks on welcome screen after that on "hard restarting"(by pressing power button) it asks for repairing window and restores the previous setting and then log me in. other wise, if i chose start window normally it stucks again on welcome. tell me wether it is a hardware issue or having problem with windows/graphic card.
My Inspiron N5030 Laptop won't boot it gets stuck after the Dell logo. Then a "_" sign appears at the top left corner of the screen and then it just hangs.
I have already tried the Dell CD and run diagnostics with no problems found. Could it be a software issue or hardware as in malfunctioned hdd?
My laptop has been messed up ever since I updated it.It all started when I got a notification to update to windows 8.1. It was all good until the next day when I started it up and it would not pick up any Internet connection even though I knew my router was working as I could get an Internet connection on my mobile. I went to the network and sharing center and it said there that it was disabled so I right clicked on it to enable it. After I clicked it, my laptop went to a blue screen and came up with the following message something like this: we've encountered a problem, we're gathering some error info and we will restart your device.
So, it restarted and I tried to re enable the network again and the same thing happened. After about 5 tries the restart thing kept happening. I didn't know what to do so I thought to just restore the laptop. I did that and now it's just in this continuous blue screen restart loop. I can't even get to the log in Window, it just keeps going to the blue Window and then restarting. This is a new laptop, not even 6 months old and it was fine until I was told to update. I'm thinking of just taking it into the repair Centre as I have warranty and I feel as if I can't fix this problem myself as I can't even get into my actual desktop.
