Every time I run the Client System Update tool and check for updates I get the error message "Check for updates failed"
I have a Dell Latitude E6430 running Windows 7 SP1 64 bit and I am connected to the internet...
I recently acquired the HP Mini 1000 and receive the password check failed message. No one remembers it. Can this be reset, as I am seeing in other threads?

Sometimes it determines the list of updates to get, but then fails to download those updates, sitting on the download screen and doing nothing.
Files are created C:UsersadrianAppDataLocalDellClientSystemUpdate emp but they never exceed 11.7MB.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have the latest drivers, freshly installed, but when I scan again the system, it says I need to install these (see image). I download them, I install, I reboot... and still uninstalled.
And I won't be happy with something like "don't worry, if your system is working, just ignore them". Because if that is the case, then for sure I can expect more things not taken care of, from Dell.
I've had my Dell Inspiron 1545 for a couple of years and it ran fine until recently I noticed that I couldn't update ANYTHING, Itunes, adobe, java, AVG... ect. so when I looked into what could have cause this problem I noticed a lot of the windows updates had failed, so of course I reran the updates and turned my computer off when it directed me too and no luck they still failed I need this computer for school or at least long enough for me to buy a new one.

My laptop runs windows 7. I changed the date to 2012 but that apparently only works for win 8. I also tried the hard reset and the recovery still fails....

View 1 Replies View RelatedI need to check the normal operating temperature for the Dell Latitude E7440. My fan is constantly on and the air coming out the side vent is extremely hot. I have installed a temperature app and with basic use (windows 8.1 and 2 or 3 apps open) the core 0 and core 1 of the processor are running between 85 and 90 degrees Celsius. When plugged into power, the fan is permanently on high speed. I don't know if this is normal. I dont understand why it is getting so hot, i have the i7, 8GB, 256GB SSD, so literally no moving parts to generate heat. My battery (47Wh) drains very quickly as well, 2 1/2 hours max.

I visited nVidia's website to see whether they had an update; they had none. So, I'm wondering whether I should get this update suggested by Windows Update or ignore it.
Apparently its a common problem on the SXPS 13 where the Ethernet adapter fails to work after the system resumes from sleep. It is caused by the NVIDIA chipset driver.
Can you check if yours is working correctly after the system resumes from Standby or sleep? If so, can you post what OS you are using? Which driver(Win 7 or Dell one)?

When I run the update, from inside Win 7 x64, I get a "ERROR 242 - This is not a valid supported system!"
