I am facing a problem of battery charging led blinking 4 orange and one white. and displaying not charging..
l502x model
My Laptop is 1 year and 5 months old. There are 2 problems I am facing with my battery:
1) When it is charging, at around 86% level, it stops charging and I see an orange light blinking at the battery icon and it continues to blink unless I turn the power off and allow the battery to discharge for a while.
2) at around 45% to 50% level, the battery level suddenly drops to 7% level and then I have to charge again.
Because of these issues I now use my laptop as a desktop. It is always plugged in and I use the option of "Stop Charging" in the windows power settings. how to solve the problem.
Laptop is indicating plugged in not charging. LED is blinking 4 orange + 1 white
Running Windows 8 64 bit. Quickset utilities are updated to the latest.
Charging is not disabled in the Power: Battery Meter in the control panel.
Have tested using 2 Dell Power Supplies, but show as 90W adapter in the BIOS and in Diagnostics
Have reset the Bios back to defaults (although it has never been changed).
Diagnostics: Battery test fails. PSA V4206 Error 2000:0132 "Battering is reaching end of its usable life"
Laptop is less than a year old, with low usage (i.e. low # battery cycles)
Apart from the fact that I had too many problems with my L502X laptop, right now my problem is:
When I press power button on the device, battery icon blinks white twice, then system boots up. But normally there should be light on Power button and other 3 shortcut buttons, but they keep dark even though laptop works.
There is no error message or something else related with my battery, and windows says that battery is fully charged when it's plugged in which is pretty normal. I tried diagnostics but there wasn't any error messages.
The battery light on my XPS is blinking all the time (orange 4 times, white 1 time).
I have updated BIOS, run PSA Diagnostics and Dell PC Diagnostics and nothing appears to be bad. But the problem is still here.
I have a dell xps 15z laptop and I have replaced the battery because it was not giving any backup. Now i plugged new battery but the battery icon says"0% available, (plugged in, not charging)". Also an indicator is blinking (four times orange and one time white) below the laptop screen (the hinge where screen is attached to the base of laptop).

My battery, which was working just fine yesterday is now giving me a "plugged in," not charging message. The lights on the front of the computer (Dell Inspiron 14z, 2012 model) is flashing orange 3x then white.
My mom has the same laptop as me and hers is working fine. Her adapter (which works for her) would not charge my battery. Her battery worked in my laptop but would not charge. Using her battery, I updated the BIOS since I couldn't previously as it was less than 10%.
My hp probook 450 g1 has two charging indicator no1 is orange and 2 white. What does they indicate.

View 1 Replies View Relatedi bought my dell xps L502X last june but recently my battery is giving me problems. sometimes when i connect my charger i get the following pop up. The AC power adapter type cannot be determined.Your system will operate slower and battery will not charge.
Ensure the plug is inserted completely for best system operation.Connect a Dell 130W AC adapter or higher.I've never used the battery badly. I always charge it to a 100% and then disconnect the charger and use the charge down to 7% until it asks me to plug in the charger. I keep disconnecting and reconnecting the charger or trying switching on and off the switch until it starts detecting my charger. I updated my bios to the latest version but nothing works. My laptop is still in the warranty till 22-05-2013.
Is there any way to disable the blue LED that stays on once the battery is finished charging? It only stays on when connect to AC power. The light is very annoying in the dark.
If it makes a difference, I'm running windows 7 64-bit.
I am using Lenovo T500 laptop for last 2 years. yesterday suddenly its battery stop charging and a red light of battery start continuously blinking. i have read many forum for charging solution and found one solution, i press the power button for 30 sec and then insert battery and charger cable. With this trick battery start charging but after 2 hours battery again stop charging. Till now battery is not charging......

The charger light still works (The blue ring)
[URL] downloaded the latest bios launcher but it is asking for minmum 10% battery but i have issue with charging and won't work
also i've ran the bois for it to say the ac adapter is [Uknown]
I have a XPS14Z Laptop, great machine, the LED light started to blink orange 4 times then white, I figured it needed a replacement battery, so I ordered a genuine replacement battery and replaced it and to my horror its doing the same thing. the battery indicator on taskbar says plugged in, not charging , the battery level doesn't change.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Dell Studio 1557. When I attempt to power on the laptop nothing happens. I can see a white blinking power light and nothing else. There is no other signs of life, the fans do not come on and the CD-ROM cannot be used.
It seems like the AC adapater is working as I can see the blue light around the connector.
I recent;y installed a version of windows on my Dell Laptop, Inspiron 6000. I worked for a week or two then when I turned it on a couple days ago, it won't go pass the black screen with the blinking white line. A user some where on this site on an other post that had similar problems said that it to re-install and delete the existing partition and create another one with 120GB. I did but when creating another partition, I tried to type in the 122880 MB (122880MB = 120GB), and upon pressing ENTER, the numbers 122880 goes back to the number of MB of the partition disk space I had previously. I hope this all make sense. I do not have the money to buy another laptop. I have a Windows XP CD, but not the original. The laptop worked fine before with this version.
To fix the blinking line on the start-up black screen, all I need to do is to re-install windows XP and change the partition to 120GB. But every time I try to change the number of MB, it doesn't work but reverts back to the original number. Is there another way to fix the blinking-white-line-on-the-start-up-screen?
Also, I tried to use the repair control...doesn't work.
My first month with this brand new notebook was problems it gave me a blue screen and shut down on me. I thought it was normal being that it was my very first notebook. My hp pavilion notebook is only 3 years old but it now it has a blinking caps light and a orange light on the wireless key. I have tried to hard reset it but nothing works. I was use to it shutting down on me and restarting again but this time it would not come back on. I call Hp tech and now I'm being told this computer is obsolete and can't be fixed.

I am now using Lenovo X240 touch screen model and I am trying to charge my lap top but after plugged in, the red light on top cover are keep blinking, what does it means ??? I have check batter one has 97% and 2nd battery has 98%, but I still want to charge it.... what should I do ..???
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have an older Inspiron 6400 (looks like the 1505) that isn't charging the battery. The bios indicates that the battery is charging, and that it is performing normally. There isn't a red flashing battery indicator, but when the laptop is powered on there isn't any "green light" indication of the battery, either. The AC adapter performs normally ( Charger is a PA10 (90watt) and it works fine on my D800, and charges that battery normally).
What I don't understand is why the BIOS indicates the battery is charging and that the battery is performing normally. However, when I have the system up and running there isn't a green battery indicator light on the button strip. Let me clarify that statement. During the initial boot phase of start-up there is the green indicator light on the button strip, but as the OS finishes loading this light goes out and the battery doesn't charge.
Could this be caused by a faulty Bios update, or is it something with the battery charging circuit of the motherboard? The laptop operates normally when using the AC adapter, just no indication of the battery charging when the OS is fully loaded. OS is Windows XP Pro (SP3).
I have had my Dell Inspiron 1525 for around two years. For the past month, when my power supply is plugged in, the battery does not charge. It has been stuck on 3% and will automatically shut down when unplugged.
I have seen that this is a very common problem, however, when hovering over the battery icon it says: plugged in, CHARGING, where as all of the other posts that I have seen say: plugged in, NOT charging.
I have tried taking the battery out and restarting but this did not work. I also drained my battery and tried to recharge but again, this did not work. My initial thought is that I may need a new battery but I just wanted to check first.
The battery/power signal (the three green LEDs right under the display on the right side) keeps flashing orange four times then blinks green once, and repeats.
The PC is on AC power and the battery is full too (99%). I don't know what the problem is.
I read around and it seems my battery is dead. Fortunately, my purchase of the XPS was just under a year ago, so I should get it replaced without paying up. I have a replacement battery that I bought at purchase. I hope it lasts loner. Do you guys reccomend taking out the battery when running on AC power?
Actually, I own an XPS 15 for a year now. But I'm having issues with the battery; the icon shows that it charges to 56% only. As far as I noticed, the battery indicator never turns orange.
View 15 Replies View RelatedMy 2 day old Lenovo Y510P laptop has a problem with charging. I noticed the battery was never going above 60% charged. I left it plugged in for over 24 hours and nothing changed. So I decided to completely drain the battery and used the laptop until it died. With the laptop off I left it plugged in until the battery LED turned white which indicates the battery is fully charged. Unfortunately the battery still shows 60% charged.
View 7 Replies View RelatedMy 4-year old Dell Mini 10 has started flashing orange just after bootup & then turns off. (Adapter LED is solid white, the flashing orange is the one at the front.) Removed the battery for an hour, since some postings say it's probably just hot; when it's reinserted the problem returns. But when I run it on AC power with the battery out, no problems.
This machine has had a weird life for a laptop, in that it has almost never been taken anywhere -- that is, it has only rarely run on battery power, and the battery has been fully discharged only a handful of times.
I'll be replacing it soon regardless, but for the month or so between now and then, is there anything wrong or unsafe about running it with no battery in the bay?
My battery light was blinking tonight when I plugged my Inspiron 1420 in to charge it.
But not blue and amber like the "too hot to charge" warning, just flashing blue
I have a problem with my laptop. Just the power light is lighting up and the battery indicator is flashing in orange ( with charger, without charger - nothing). Nothing on the screen, no fans, no sound.
View 7 Replies View RelatedBasically yesterday the battery charging light started flashing 4 orange then 1 white, and when I booted up it would say that the battery is not at an optimal running tempreture
It wouldn't the charge the battery but once I started using it and got the battery to about 90% charge then plugged it in it would start charging with no issues till it was 99% charged
I've owned my Dell XPS L502x for over 3 year (thus, I am out of my warranty period) and recently it has stopped being able to charge. I am completely tethered to the AC power adapter to use it as I'm on 0% battery and have an inability to charge it. I am on windows 8.As well as my inability to charge the laptop, I have noticed the following things:The battery meter states that 'system cannot communicate with the battery ' when I hover over the battery icon in the task bar.4 orange and 1 white lights are flashing on the battery indicator above my charging port and above my keyboard, when the charger is plugged in.
I had the same problem last year and as my battery was about 2 years old at that time so i replaced it in September 2013 and the problem was solved.
Now as this battery is only 15 months old i am not sure if the problem is with battery or the AC adapter?
I do not have any other battery or adapter to check it.
I am using Dell XPS 15 L502x model from past 18 months. Suddenly I noticed mu battery indicator is blinking in orange and white color while it was charging. So just opened More Power options and found that "Battery is temporarily disabled" message. So shut down my device and opened the battery and again insert it. Then I try to switch on my device and found that battery is temporarily disabled due to high temperature but it was in normal room temperature.
So I start observing the issue and found that while the device charging level reached to 98 -99 %, it starts blinking. if I turned off battery charging then when it reached to 94-92 % level it start behaving as a normal condition and also blinking is stopped. The device has a 9 cell battery in it and still I'm getting more than 4 hours of back up in normal working load.
My dell inspiron 1525 wont charge and it only comes on when connected to the charge, the battery says charging normally, then on the home screen it says connected not charging. On the outside the battery flashes back and forth going from blue to Orange.
