I have a dell inspiron 15 7000 series but can not find the webcam in the BIOS neither in the device manager.there is still a webcam (is it a fake) on top of the screen.Also I wasn't able to find any useful driver. Can you confirm if there is a webcam ?

I've installed already the drivers for:
- Intel Chipset
- Intel SATA
- FX3700 (from Dell for Vista x64)
The integrated webcam on my E4310 is not being recognised anywhere. This is a topic which already has several previous discussions, but without any solution for me. The webcam doesn't appear in device manager:
and is not recognised on skype, or the Dell Webcam Central. When put through the Dell diagnostics test it says no camera is installed. Is it possible that there is no webcam on this laptop and what I see above the screen is something else?
I am trying to connect bluetooth earphones to my HP-Pavilion-dv7-6b32us Notebook. I have two different models that I am trying to connect to my notebook: Nextware Sonic and Jarv earphones, both via bluetooth. I've tried "Add a Device" through the control panel, but the devices don't pair or show up. I can't find Bluetooth in the device manager. Are there any drivers I can download or software on the computer I can activate to solve this, or do I need to buy a bluetooth dongle?

On my vista partition the webcam cannot be found and there is no trace of it.
On my Windows 7 partition the webcam works.....

View 2 Replies View Relatedmy dell inspiron laptop model n5030 will not start. when you turn it on the startup repair window comes up. after the diagnostic runs it says windows cannot repair this automatically. my warranty expired this past august and now my laptop died. how do i restore my laptop when the system restore partition does not work? it just says. boot manager failed to find os loader error code 0x3. and it also says boot configuration data store repair failed. error code = 0x2. then the laptop shuts off. what should i do? i have only had the laptop a year and a half. do i need a new one?
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy Inspirion 7000 will not boot and won't enter bios setup. I turned on mode to reduce cpu usage, and to show startup on screen. Next thing I know it won't boot.
If I press f2 early during what should be the post testing it says "entering setup" at the bottom of the screen. It hangs right there and goes no further.
I've pulled the hd, cd/floppy, battery, tried everthing suggested from another user I found who had the exact same problem.

I installed a new hard drive on my Niece's laptop Inspiron 14Z (N441Z) and did a clean install of Win 7 Home Premium. I installed the Chipset drivers first and then started on the list displayed in the support area for this machine. After completing all of the drivers install, my device manager looked like this:
The Unknown Device shows an ID USBUnknown. This machine has 1-USB2 and 2-USB3 ports. If I run the Dell Diagnostics it shows that I have 1-1.1 USB ports, and 2-USB2 ports. The 1.1 port appears to works since it will recognize flash drives etc. This is also true of the of USB2 ports. The other USB2 does not recognize anything except my Samsung Galaxy 4 phone. But when it is unplugged I get a balloon on the task bar that says a USB device is not recognized. This will also occur when I first boot up the machine. It is like the machine is not recognizing the USB ports If I run any of the hardware troubleshooters that Microsoft has it tells me that a driver is missing but when it tries and install, it reports that it fails. I have undated my bios, all drivers, I have uninstalled drivers and then rebooted with no luck.
I got my new laptop today, and got rid of the installed Dell Crap and installed my Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit.

I contacted Dell, they said they won't support my laptop since I don't have their operating system on it. All I want to know is what drivers I need. I can't believe they couldn't let me know.
I'm using the W540 with an ultradock and external monitors. After upgrading my W540 to win8.1 64 bit, device manager is showing an unknown device. I'm not quite sure what it is, but almost everything seems to be working fine and Lenovo solution center isn't finding any driver updates.
I did notice that the solution center hardware scan did not test the video card memory and listed that test as N/A. Video and monitors seem to be working fine though and both nvidia and intel graphics show up in device manager.
Device manager lists the device in question as follows:

I downloaded drivers from the website, and installed all of them. But after that there's one device listed as Unknown in device manager, and I can't figure our which device it is.

I just bought a B590, model 20208, with, i3-3110m, 500GB HDD, GeForce 720M.I installed Win 7 64bits, but in Device Manager, before installing all the drivers appeared Other Devices an Unknown Device with thise details: code 28, Device type: Other devices; Location: on Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Embedded Controllert . After installing drivers, the problem persists.Another problem was with PCI express but resolved with Intel Management Engine Interface drivers.Other problem resolved was with the GeForce 720 M videocard; wasn't recognized but resolved with the last driver from GeForce site. the last problem remained it's The Unknown Devices.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the driver multiple times and I have the newest driver.
The date-time is not holding which indicates replace the 'coin cell' or BIOS battery. I have looked online and everywhere says it is under the keyboard but I HAVE THE KEYBOARD OFF AND I DONT SEE IT. Where the bios battery on the Dell inspirion 9100 is located?

Recently, my CD Drive failed to read CD's. So, I removed the drive and took the model number off of it and searched the internet for a new drive (since Dell does not sell them). I bought it, received it and installed. It turns on, opens up and the light is on.
Now, I want to reformat my computer but the system is not reading the drive even though it appears to be on. It does not show up in Device Manager, and when I go to the Boot Menu it tells my that it cannot read the device in the modular drive. Yes, the module drive is enabled in Bios.
Is there anything I can do to remedy this or am I forced to send my laptop back to Dell again for repairs (Because that is getting old, and if that is the case then it just going to become a brick to me).
I have an FW490, and noticed when looking at the device manager that under Portable Devices that there was a problem. There is a warning beside something called "R5C592". When I checked under properties it says Device type: Portable Device, Manufacturer: Ricoh, Location: on UMBus Enumerator.
Under device status it says: "Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)

I checked for solutions and couldn't find anything. My PC seems to be running fine. Is it possible that it could be that I used a USB key that is causing this problem?
I've had my Dell L701X for over two years now and I've had some trouble with the wireless adapter before, particularly within the last 6 months.
Recently, the wireless adapter has been disappearing from the device manager and I have had to resort to a wired connection. The adapter has been disappearing completely from the device manager and I am not sure why. I have tried reinstalling the Intel drivers for the wireless card but that hasn't solved the problem.
The components list for my laptop on the Dell website under components says I have the Intel WiFi Link 6200 (802.11a/g/n) Half Mini-card. Also if I use the wireless hardware switch it seems to be turning the Bluetooth connection on and off in the network adapters.
Currently running Windows 8 but have also had the problem while running Windows 7.
I have installed the most recent driver but still have no line for Touchpad under Device Manager, Mice and other pointing devices. I have 2 lines only: PS/2 mouse and my wireless mouse.

In the device manager there is a driver not installed " Broadcom USH" I already searched for it, and there is one : Dell ControlPoint Security Device Driver Pack, but this device is not (yet) supported. Is there a way to fix this? I did not get any recovery cd with my pc, only a few drivers, not this one.

View 3 Replies View Relatedi bought a acer laptop @ bestbuy and it came with preinstall vista home. i used the computer fine and all and the internet connects to my router find and was surfing the internet. i then decided to install a fresh copy of my own vista ultimate because i dont like the preinstall stuff that they did because it just clutters up space. after i finish my install of vista ultimate, my laptop doesn't connect to the internet. i know this is simply but i dont see network adapters under the device manager in the computer management screen. i am worried because if i have to install the driver, then i would see some icons with a yellow exclamation mark, but i dont see NETWORK ADAPTERS AT ALL. i dont know how to solve this? any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks all. i've tried to press scan for new hardware changes but still i dont see the network adpaters. i thought if you install vista ultimate, then it will install the wireless drivers for you too.

I currently have an Acer Extensa 5620z-4801. About a month ago, I started using my laptop to burn DVDs. The DVD burner worked just fine for the first 2 DVDs. I used Ashampoo. After those 2 DVDs, it stopped working. I checked on My Computer, and the DVD drive wasn't there. At first I thought it was just temporary, so I restarted my laptop. But then after that, it's still not there, and I freaked out. I checked my device manager to find it, but it vanished from device manager also. I tried to google to find a solution, but doesn't help. I tried that regedit method, but I couldn't find neither upperfilter nor the lowerfilter or whatsoever. I tried removing prime and secondary IDE and reinstall, but doesn't help.

My laptop is a HP DV7-6052ea with I7-2630QM (Socket 988b)
Device manager shows the correct details under 'Processor', listing the I7-2630QM (8 times).
Under 'System devices' it has this line: Xeon E3-1200/2nd Generation Intel(R) Core(TM) Processor Family PCI Express Root Port - 0101
I can't see any details for the 2630QM in the 'System devices' section.

CPU-Z correctly lists the I-7 2630QM and I haven't noticed any problems with my system (apart from some songs skipping a bit) so is this something that is likely to cause problems or OK?
I have a Seagate 1TB hard drive connected via USB as a backup (Memeo-backup software) to my HP Probook 470 G2 (Windows 7 Pro). The Device Access Manager asks me to authenticate myself every 15 min (approx). This is very annoying. Is the solution to uninstall the DAM s/w and what will the consequences be? Or how to get around the Device Access Manager?
