View 1 RepliesI;ve recently purchased the new dell inspiron 1720, which is little more than a glorified netbook.
The graphics are terrible. and i was wondering if i can uppgrade my graphics card. (Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family. 780 mb)
I have an Acer ASPIRE 5735-4624. It's a widescreen, I don't know if that matters(15.6" HD Acer CineCrystal LCD), It has:
*Intel Pentium dual-core processor T3200
*2GB DDR2
*Mobile Intel Graphic Media Accelerator 4500M
I'm wondering what are some good options to upgrade to. I've seen a couple of card but I'm not too sure which is compatiable and what not. I'll list some of the ones I've seen in the next post. Plz let me know if there is any more info needed.
The cards I've seen:
*ATI (Radeon) 9200 SE AGP Graphics Accelorator
*ATI RADEON 9550 256MB AGP VIDEO CARD
*ATI Radeon 9700 AGP 128MB Graphics Card
*ATI Radeon 9800 Pro - 128MB DDR - AGP
*NVIDIA GEOFORCE 6200 LE
*PNY Nvidia GeForce 8500 GT
*Geforce Graphics Card 7600 GT
*Geforce 6200 512MB DDR2 AGP Graphics Card
If I do absolutely no gaming, should I pay $50 to upgrade from 512MB to 1GB on a HD4650 graphics card on the FW 490 I am about to order?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a travelmate 5720g, which there is a mxmII slot that looks like it is possible to remove the current hd2600 and replace another one.
I have been searching around about graphics card upgrade on acer laptops, there are cases where people have upgraded from nvidia to ati and ati to nvidia sucessfully without problems.
Does that really mean as long as the mxm slot is capable of installing the graphics card, and upgraded your bios to the lastest version then it is just PLUG AND PLAY ?
are the Acer 5135's graphics card upgradeable? i was hoping to get maybe a little stronger than just 256 mb intel card inside there...If there is how much would they cost and where could i get them?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've read the stickies and used the search option BUT i'm still going to ask the question - can i upgrade the 'graphics card' on a dv6700 with the 8400M GS chipset currently installed? i've read that HP's aren't upgrade friendly but thought i'd check anyway.......
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have an Acer Aspire 5585WXMi laptop, approx. 2 yrs old purchased in Singapore. It came with Intel's standard Graphics Media Accelerator 950 and I was wondering if there was any possibility of upgrading to the NVidia GPU? When I purchased the laptop I could have paid a little bit extra for the NVidia add-on but decided against (regretting now) so as far as I can tell it should be possible to add on the GPU module?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have an ACER 4930G laptop, which came with a P9500 processor, 4GB RAM and an idependant NVIDIA GeForce9600M GS (256MB) graphics card.
I'd like to upgrade my graphics card to a GF9650 GT (1GB), or an equivalent card from ATI.
Does anyone know is it possible to upgrade the graphics card on my 4930G laptop?
I know there has been a lot of threads questioning this and generaly speaking most people have said it is not possible, but i really dont want to believe it as its the only thing that lets my laptop down!
computer specification
processor: intel core 2 duo CPU T5750 @ 2.00GHz 2.00 GHz
Memory: 2GB
OS: vista home premium
Graphics card: Mobile Intel 965 Express Chipset Family
is it possible to upgrade this graphics card?
if i cant then what would my best option be to have the same sort of specification as my current laptop, but with a decent graphics card? or invest in getting a desktop?
what this intel graphics card thing is and why it is so terrible for playing games?
Via MS windows update there is an update to Nvidia Quadro FX 770m graphics. I installed it, however the screen back light brightness got capped and would not go beyond 2 points (out of 5 points) and hence i had to revert back to original drivers.

was bidding on one on ebay that said it fits a dell 9300 but i wanted to double check.
My Laptop model is: Dell Inspiron 15R. It has Intel HD 4000 and AMD 7670M Graphic Card, but only Intel HD 4000 card is detected when I scan for configuration in URL... This means AMD graphic card will not be used during game play ? what should I do to make the AMD card will be detected when we scan for configuration.
View 15 Replies View RelatedMy geforce go 7900 just went on my inspiron 9400. I went on ebay to check prices for that card or the gtx version but there are really expensive for such an old card.
Does anyone know of any other cards that are compatible with this model? I dont really care what goes in as long as its as cheap as possible, my mum just uses it for internet browsing.
Dell have been working on a fix for several weeks/months for the issue where the Nvidia graphics card either vanishes completely or randomly disappears requiring a reboot to get it recognized by the system. URL....
According to @dellcares the Product Team are actively working on a permanent solution - my direct conversations with @dellcares on twitter are now over two weeks long. There is still no guaranteed ETA on a remedy. The list of people with this faulty laptop seems to be growing daily - probably because Dell are still selling it, knowing it has a major problem.if you are the owner of this laptop or a similar laptop which is suffering with a vanishing Nvidia GT650M.
I was gifted this Inspiron for my birthday to be a gaming laptop, unfortunatly when I checked what video graphics card I had it was a pretty crummy Intel(R) HD Graphics Family card. This prevents me from playing many games I would like to play on my laptop. My question is: Is there a way to upgrade the graphics card or replace the graphics card.
Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2410M CPU @ 2.30GHz
8 gb of RAM
750 gb hard drive
Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium
Intel(R) HD Graphics Family card
Not sure if anybody would know, but is the graphics card port on the XPS the same as the Insipron on? I know the heatsinks etc are physically different but I'll address that later....
View 15 Replies View RelatedI got a Dell Inspiron N5010 which comes with Free Dos without drivers. I have been trying for the last week to make the graphics card work without success. I have Windows 7 Pro 64 bit and I followed the Dell Support drivers page after providing my service tags. Nothing works. Windows still sees that as VGA driver with 16 Mbytes of RAM!!! Cannot have high resolution. Also, the characters and fonts looks ugly compared to my 5 year old Acer!! I also downloaded the drivers at Intel site from URL...All my attempts are in vain. I am not sure what else I can try. Windows insists that it is not compatible. On the other hand, all things work perfectly on Linux mint 11.0 but there are applications I need to run on Windows (unfortunately).

Now, here is my problem, whenever i try to run any game I have to switch to the ADM card. But some games ask to choose a Graphics Adapter at which point I can only select the intel HD Graphics Card and not the AMD one. I tried to set High Graphics setting with AMD Catalyst Controller but the game does not seem to detect it. What do i do?? Is there any way I can select AMD card as my Default Graphics Adapter?
I've had my Inspiron 1420 for about a year and a half now, with virtually no problems except when dealing with Windows Vista. But, about a month ago, I was playing a very graphics intensive game and all of a sudden my screen froze, colors inverted, and it started to flash and pixelate at me. I turned my computer off, then back on, and this started happening:
I turned my computer off again and blew out all the dust I could, then let it cool down. When I started back up everything was fine again. But about a week later, it did the same thing, but for longer.
About an hour later it was fine again. A couple weeks went by and nothing like that happened again, up until about three days ago. I was playing my game again and then it started to pixelate, but I could still play. The screen would scramble, but it was almost like it would refresh every 10 seconds or so and the screen would be fine. That night, I was (again) playing my game and my screen scrambled, froze, and went to your basic blue screen.
I rebooted and everything was fine, but the next day I turned on my computer and it did the segemented screen again and when I tried to fix it, another blue screen came up saying "Hardware Malfunction, call you hardware vendor for support .....

So I recently bought a laptop (Dell Inspiron 5520) with AMD Radeon 7670m HD graphics cards. However, the laptop came with another graphics cards too which is I suppose called an integrated graphics card. It's name is Intel HD 4000. So basically I was on a site which told me whether my computer could run a specific game or not. I passed everything like processor speed etc. but the graphics card. It said I use Intel 4000. I checked from some other applications and those also told me that I was using Intel 4000. I want to know whether I use both graphics cards or just Intel 4000 and if that is the case how I can switch manually from Intel to AMD Radeon graphics card.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased a Dell Inspiron 15R N5110 which consists of a nVidia GT525M graphics card (as per the configuration). But when I check the system specs under system rating -> details; it is showing only Intel HD graphics with a dedicated graphics memory of 64MB and complete shared graphics memory of 1696MB. My card of 1GB is not getting displayed.
But, in device manager, I can see my nVidia card.how do I enable my graphics card? Is there any problem only with my system? How can I see the nVidia card in the system specs?
I have Inspiron 9300. Unfortunately, my geforce 6800 died and I bought as a replacement x300 which was installed by a laptop repair service (they fixed other thins too.
It was due to power surge). Everything works but when I boot up the computer or when the display is set to be turned off in the power settings in Windows instead of being actually turned off the display is on and is all white.
Also brightness regulation does not work via Fn +arrows keys and is set to maximum and the white color is so intense that I get a headache after a couple of hours staring at the screen.
My current cpu is T7100 1.8ghz and my vid card is Geforce 8600M GT 256mb will it be possible to upgrade it to T9300? or maybe a geforce 9600?
