I have a lenovo Thinkpad Edge 15 i believe if not the product id 031925U I was searching the web and couldn't really find anything about this laptops graphics crad besides it's intel. So is it possible at all to upgrade the graphics card in this laptop. If so what graphics cards are compatibale?
View 1 RepliesI'm in St-Jean QC at the military base and just before comming here I ordered my Dell XPS M1530 in january and got it shortly after. It came with 4 gigs of ram, the centrino duo-core 2.20ghz processor and the 128 ati card.
I had some negative experiences with the customer service from dell the first month I had it but I decided to let it go and enjoy the unit.
Has anybody ever called dell and had the unit sent back and had the videocard/motherboard upgraded for the 256mb version? I don't know if this is possible, and I'd love to call dell but I won't be able to after July 17th when I move onto my next base.
I;ve recently purchased the new dell inspiron 1720, which is little more than a glorified netbook.
The graphics are terrible. and i was wondering if i can uppgrade my graphics card. (Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family. 780 mb)
I have an Acer ASPIRE 5735-4624. It's a widescreen, I don't know if that matters(15.6" HD Acer CineCrystal LCD), It has:
*Intel Pentium dual-core processor T3200
*2GB DDR2
*Mobile Intel Graphic Media Accelerator 4500M
I'm wondering what are some good options to upgrade to. I've seen a couple of card but I'm not too sure which is compatiable and what not. I'll list some of the ones I've seen in the next post. Plz let me know if there is any more info needed.

I have been searching around about graphics card upgrade on acer laptops, there are cases where people have upgraded from nvidia to ati and ati to nvidia sucessfully without problems.
Does that really mean as long as the mxm slot is capable of installing the graphics card, and upgraded your bios to the lastest version then it is just PLUG AND PLAY ?

"Intel® HD Graphics Control Panel" program also won't open, it crashes instantly.

It came with Intel's standard Graphics Media Accelerator 950 and I was wondering if there was any possibility of upgrading to the NVidia GPU? Via MS windows update there is an update to Nvidia Quadro FX 770m graphics. I installed it, however the screen back light brightness got capped and would not go beyond 2 points (out of 5 points) and hence i had to revert back to original drivers.

1. What is the max RAM I can go upto on this E420 (Intel i3 2nd Gen) laptop.
2. As I have 4 GB on one slot can I put one 8Gb RAM (single module) on the other slot.
3. What brand of RAM I can use.

Last month I bought a Lenovo e545. I did an upgrade to windows 8.1 on my new system. After upgrading, I noticed several problems with my drivers and installation of them(Conextant audio driver, Windows location driver). Also none of the Windows 8 games work. So I thought I'd do a sfc /scannow first. There I got the message the system is locked. So I thought to reinstall my backup on the recovery partition. This also said the disk is locked. I tried reInstalling from a home made external USB hard disk with original recovery system, this also won't work. This makes all my recovery disks useless so I can not restore my computer if anything goes wrong...
Now the base of the problem might be influenced by one of these factors:
In trying to solve the problem I accidentally downgraded the BIOS from 1.10 to 1.09 (so maybe this infuences the Windows certificates in the BIOS, maybe a technician can tell me if this can happen) and can not find the 1.10 BIOS on the website to be downloaded and upgrade the BIOS again.I added 4 GB crucial RAM (1600)The Windows 8.1 upgrade is a pain in the ass and blocks the possibility somehow to recover the system. I really need to be able to recover the system to preform a clean system install...

My SD card reader became non-functional after a recent upgrade of my T520 to Windows 8.1. Hardware troubleshooting said the Base System Device driver was not installed. I installed the Lenovo System Update software and searched for updates, but the driver was not updated. There is still a yellow warning symbol beside the Base System Device in the device manager. Discovered on the Lenovo driver download website that the card reader in my model is the Ricoh Media Card Reader but there is no driver compatible with Windows 8.1. Would the Windows 8 driver work or is there another solution to get my reader running again?
