I have a inspiron mini 10v that I wish to set back to factory settings, I have searched through boot menu's and as well as tried ctrl+F11 but still have no luck resetting it.

When you recieve a laptop from dell brand new you turn it on it goes through
welcome options and account creation after that you are welcomed to windows with all drivers installed and fully up to date.
I have a Dell Latitude D600 which i bought a few months ago second hand, It came with charger and thats it. No recovery disk or nothing. Laptop worked perfect and is a really good laptop. However I have so many viruses on my laptop, I have ran all types of AVG's, adware scanners, and much more. Its cleared alot of the viruses but still the laptop is not working properly.
I would like to restore the laptop back to its factory settings, i have backed up all my data on an external harddrive so its all good. I checked on google and it says something about Pressing F11 + Ctrl or something like that and it has a recovery procedure in the laptop allready. I dont think D600 has that feature and guessing i need a recovery disk. I have looked on ebay and cant find any, Im not even sure what type of recovery disk to get because i found a few, prices were ranging from £30-35 and i cant afford that as i am a student.
Is there a way where i can download some sort of recovery software for dell and burn it onto a disk or something, I looked on google but there is no detailed sources telling me about this,
how i can restore my dell latitude D600 back to its brand new settings without having to buy the recovery disk.
I get my new "Vostro 3360" and I needed to do "roll back" to factory settings but I had some problem:
- I tried to do a "recover / estore" but there was nothing in the list - I already installed the laptop also installed many programs (e.g: office, winscp, irfanview etc.)
- I tried to go through the "help center" on the laptop and same issue - nothing, all empty
- I even try to reinstall from the disk I got with the laptop BUT it didn't found my hard disks... so basically, my question is how can I install the laptop from the included windows 8 cd that I got?
I just want to reinstall my laptop like it was as I got it from the factory
I need to get recovery CD's for my yoga 11s to put it back to factory settings?

My wife and daughter had somehow set this password up. before this I could not get windows 8 to open without a password. I do not have either of the required passwords. Unfortunately the F8, F11, F12, and all other F options do not work for me (something about a deleted partition??). Soooo, I am trying to locate the discs to use to do this action. I have heard that those are free under warranty, but my computer is from 2007 so is obviously not under warranty. I tried to do a factory image system recovery via the pre-installed "Dell Backup and Recovery" application. It indicated that the machine would be restarted, however it simply booted back into Windows, as per a normal reboot. I tried this several times, with the same result each time.
I had previously created recovery media on a 16GB USB flash drive, so booted it from this instead. I chose the "Factory Recovery - Deletes data & resets all partitions" option. The process completed successfully, and everything appeared to be fine, however when I looked at the System Protection tab I saw the following.

So if I'm typing a word with two letters that are consecutive, I have to pause or forget and backspace (which I can only do once also without a pause). It's also started this slight click/beep that happens usually in conjunction with the error although sometimes not. And, the click/beep isn't consistent (or at least I haven't found it's rhythm yet).

My issue is, there doesn't appear to be any option for F8 when the netbook boots up.
I've googled the issue & it appears many people have had this issue.
I've tried the simple F8 & F10 options, along with FN + F8 &/or F10, Ctrl +F8 &/or F10 etc etc.
I'm at my wits end with this now as it doesn't appear to enter the recovery option with any of these functions.
There is definitely a recovery partition to the netbook, and the most annoying thing of all.......
I actually managed to restore to factory settings on this netbook no more than 6 months ago!!!
Okay so to start off i just reformatted my laptop following the instructions that came with it and everything works fine.
The question i have is about the appearance of the desktop.
Before i reformatted it i had all the factory settings, this included that bar at the top including the media options and the internet explorer logo. My question is how do i get this again,
i want that bar lol. Also i lost all the dell XPS wallpapers that were included before. Is there a way to get all those factory options back
I don't use it very much; it's more a backup machine and the occasional Skype to grandkids. Been having a problem with being unable to use windows update; keeps getting an 8007005 error.
Googling reveals a lot of folks with the same problem, some different fixes, and mixed success stories. I've tried several of the fixes with no luck and probably made things worse than they were before (now Defender won't update).....
