I am upgrading my 4 GB (2 x 2GB) ram at present to 6 GB replacing one of the 2 GB one by Kingston made for dell 4 GB memory. I tried all possible combination but it keeps on giving the 4 beep error code on startup and the screen is completely black.
I also got the ram replaced for it might be faulty but no luck.
I recently went to turn on my computer, Dell's Inspiron M5010, today and was surprised to hear it beeping. After I got out from behind cover, i logged onto another computer in the house. Counting 7 short beeps, I have come to learn that there must be an issue with with either the processor or the motherboard. This is the point where I am at currently. I would like to know the next step to take from this point, whether buying a simple new part would do the trick, or if it is time to turn it into a scrap heap and get something new. I suppose there could be some further testing whether it is either the processor or the motherboard with the issue.
I have Dell inspiron 15R, most of the time it fail to start when i press power button it will continuously beep once every 3-5secs display is not lightning it will stay that was as long as you let it be it will not stop, pressing power button hold for 3-5sec will turn of the Laptop but if i try to press again the power button it will start again beeping. i tried to remove the battery and press the power button it will still keep on beep display is black out..
I purchased another Dell product in 2012 but use it so infrequently it's still relatively new in usage terms.
It worked just fine yesterday, but when I tried to turn it on today, I get 7 audio beeps and a black screen.
Using my desktop, I've searched on Dell and Google about the problem and it seems to be an overheating processor problem and also seems to be a well known defect that some people have gotten Dell to replace the motherboard even if the product is out of warranty.
I've been having problems with my Inspiron where it beeps constantly after POST. It's the equivalent of holding down a key continuously, which I think is so because at Windows login prompt my password is already completely filled with *
This started happening after I placed and removed the Admin, System and HDD passwords in Dells BIOS setup. I cannot say if this is the cause, but it is when I 1st experienced the beeps.
My "W" key is behaving erratic, from not working @ all some time to constantly appearing on screen as if I pressed it (e.g in a DOS prompt window without typing anything "w"s would recurringly appear, and also inbetween text as I type).
I have a vostro 3560, and turn it on after passing the initial checkup gives me a beep followed by silence and again on beep, no video signal gives and does nothing. which could be wrong with this machine ?.
The beep error code is only 1 continuous beep with the same time separation between the two beep, while not turn off the machine, the same sequence is repeated beep.
I have a N5030 it was giving me the beeping 7 times, so I replaced the motherboard and the cpu. I got it to startup and work but than the touchpad wouldn't work so I did a system check including the bios and my battery ran out and so that process stopped. When I plugged in the ac and hit the start button, I got a black screen. I unplugged everything inside and out and now it turns on and shuts off quickly.
I have an Inspiron N5030 laptop. It won't power up and emits a steady beeping when turned on. I let it beep up to 15 times before i turned it back off. the screen stays black and although 2 lights on the front of it come on when i first turn the power on, the second light goes back off and just the first light stays on during the beeping. i have tried pulling the battery, tried powering it with the battery in and the battery out. When i looked up the beep codes, a steady beep was not one of the codes.
Have a Dell laptop-Inspiron N5030. Running Win7 home prem. Having battery cannot be determined or charged issues.
Sometimes on boot up I receive the message "battery cannot be determined" and it says press F1 to continue, F2 for setup, or F5 for diagnostics.
I've gone into setup to check the battery information. States battery life is at 0%, battery health says its not a Dell battery. But the battery came with the Dell laptop and is original.
Sometime it makes through the boot process and when Windows boots to the desktop I get the error message "The model number for primary battery cannot be determined. This will prevent any battery present from recharging. Please insert a Dell laptop battery......
I've tried to update the bios, but it won't let me. It states that the battery and AC adapter must be connected, or something similar to that. I also have a Dell Latitude laptop and tried swapping out my AC adapter and got the same error messages.
My Dell Inspiron N5030 drivers won't start. I think they are installed, but the computer attempted to install the drivers when logging in.
After a few minutes, while installing, the drive started make noises and the light started to flash. I open the DVD Drive, and when I put it back in, it started to do the same thing.
I tried disabling and enabling and deinstalling and reinstalling the drivers, but it still does the same thing!
I have a Inspiron N5030 - the screen has playing up for a while (working intermittently) but now has comletely gone. Intially I had vertical lines down the screen - now there is nothing and computer gives 8 continues loud bleeps on start-up - there will be a slight pause then again 8 beeps. This is continuous until the laptop is shut down. I am happy to change the screen but before investing in a new one, whether this would be the correct way to go?
I turn on my laptop and there is no picture, the power light comes on, but no picture, it is black screen and then it is beeping continuously. This is all it will do. The battery started not keeping a charge for very long lately, but I am not sure this is what is causing the black screen and beeping. I have tried to remove it for a while and put it back in to no avail.
My studio 1555 is not starting. When I press it, power button goes white, I can hear the HDD spinning but no beep or error appear. Screen remains black.
When I press the power button again it's turn off.
I've already tryed to take out battery and press power bottom for 30 seconds but nothing happens.
I've had my Inspiron N5030 for about 10 months now. I've been using the same wireless router for about 8 months with no problem up until a week or so ago. I started to intermittently have the limited connectivity issue. It would come and go. So I tried to unplug the wireless router and modem. After that it seemed to work okay but the next day I turned on my computer and it wasn't connected at all. It shows my network but when I try to connect it says that windows cannot connect to my network. I'm the person that set up the network so I have the correct key and code and it's worked fine for months so I'm not sure what's causing the issue. I've also tried resetting the router but that doesn't seem to work either. I have a ipod touch that's able to connect to the wireless fine though so whatever the issue is it seems to be with the laptop.
After working perfectly fine for a couple of hours the other day my laptop suddenly shut down. Since then it hasn't worked for longer than 15-20 minutes without shutting down suddenly. I dont think its overheating as it never feels very hot. Ive tried unplugging it, taking out the battery and holding down the power button for thirty seconds but that achieved nothing. I went in f12 upon bootup and tried running a diagnostics test but the laptop shut down again halfway through.
My Inspiron N5030 Laptop won't boot it gets stuck after the Dell logo. Then a "_" sign appears at the top left corner of the screen and then it just hangs.
I have already tried the Dell CD and run diagnostics with no problems found. Could it be a software issue or hardware as in malfunctioned hdd?
I am getting continuous beep sounds while starting of the laptop. The beep sound is continuous for a period of appx 10-15 seconds and afterwards the laptop is working normally.
my dell inspiron laptop model n5030 will not start. when you turn it on the startup repair window comes up. after the diagnostic runs it says windows cannot repair this automatically. my warranty expired this past august and now my laptop died. how do i restore my laptop when the system restore partition does not work? it just says. boot manager failed to find os loader error code 0x3. and it also says boot configuration data store repair failed. error code = 0x2. then the laptop shuts off. what should i do? i have only had the laptop a year and a half. do i need a new one?
After hard disk failure on my dell inspiron n5030 i copied two first partitions from my old hard drive to a new one using Acronis disk director. But when i try to use ctrl+f11 to start the recovery procedure the procedure doesn't work.
I also tried decompressing the factory iso file to Os partition and when i tried to start the pc and boot with Os partition as active it didn't work.
I have a HP dv7t. Works great but on occasion (twice a week or so) I get an error message on startup that IDT Audio has closed due to an error. The error message is the typical Windows Vista error message that you receive when a program unexpectedly closes down. Because of this, I have no audio from my speakers until I restart my computer (headphones do work though). The IDT Audio Settings program that runs in my taskbar is still there, so that didn't close.
I am running the latest driver from HP's website: 6.10.6087.0 A
Two weeks ago I bought a new Vostro 3460 and after few day I've noticed that sometimes during startup an battery error appears (red led of battery also blinking) . To start system the battery have to be re-attach and battery is again recognizable and the systems starts up correctly.
I have in my system NVIDIA GeForce GT 740M (2 GB DDR3 dedicated) video graphics preinstalled. I had downloaded & installed latest updates for NVIDIA i.e., nvidia graphics driver 335.23, geforce experience 2.0 & physx sytem software 9.13.1220 via hp support assistant following a software update alert 1 month back after i bought my lap.
Today i had to refresh my system due to an error in search charm not listing hp recovery manager {,following uninstall & reinstall of latest hp support assistant 1week back (details can be read from this link: Search Charm Win8.1 Error). anyway search charm error has been resolved.}
But when i checked hp support assistant today for updates, couldnt get any related to nvidia. my nvidia is still old version - nvidia graphics driver 327.02, nvidia physx system software 9.13.0604, nvidia update 1.14.17.
I'm getting update error while clicking Update on nvidia control panel in system tray icon & in nvidia settings.
when i checked nvidia website the update is there for download & also latest nvidia graphic driver update is there in HP Product website too. mine is not the version present in the website at present.
My question is should i download it from websites or should i wait till it come in support assistant. Though there is no visible issue in my system without the update that im aware of. But an update error message is showing while i click update in nvidia settings. also nvidia is not present in start up apps in task manager (or rather no graphics app is present in startup). What should i do?
Note: My battery was not working, laptop was running as plug in only.
My laptop suddenly turned off during working, and wont start again, after giving a day rest, it starts again but before the windows launch it turns off again and wont start again.
Few days after I simply removed my battery and it start working normally but its been only 5 days, my laptop wont turn on now.
when I connect my AC power, laptops power lights on and it beeps once and power gone.
when I try to press power button, nothing happens,
but when i remove AC adapter and connect again, power light comes automatically but after 2 seconds it beeps and turned off.
I have tried disconnecting AC power, hold power button for 60 secs, and then connect my AC adapter (power button being pressed) lights come, it beeps for one time and turned off.
