Mar 28, 2010Anyone know if there is a way to set the e6400 backlit keyboard to always be on?
I currently have it set to the 5 minute timeout within the DCP software which is good enough, just curious if there is way to always keep it on.

However since I refreshed the system due to the hangs up problem at start up, the back lit key board stops working. Mar 2, 2013I was recently given a Latitude E6530 and I wish to upgrade the standard keyboard to a backlit one after coming from a MacBook Air. I was wondering, does E6530 (or it's similar models) requires an additional cable to power the backlight or does it just feed off the single cable? I've scoured YouTube and Google to try find out if an extra cable is required for this model however wasn't able to.

May 4, 2010I just picked up a e4200 with backlit keyboard and whenever the back light is turned on there is a noise (slight buzzing or hum) that can be heard. As soon as the back light turns off the sound goes away. It's kind of bugging me because you wouldn't think that the back light would add to the decibel level of the laptop..

Jan 24, 2015I have a Latitude 6430u.
When I try to move this laptop around or bump it just right it suddenly goes to sleep. When I say bump it I mean like having it on your lap and moving around to get comfortable will cause it to do this. Sometimes when you move it from your lap to a table it will just go to sleep.
I have removed and reseated the battery several times, no change.
I have run the online diagnostics, no issues found.

Aug 16, 2009I got a Dell Studio 1737 through the Dell Outlet, and after a little while the Num Lock light stopped working. The button still turns it on and off, and I've been debating calling and having to deal with them to get a replacement. Another option I've been thinking about is replacing it outright with the backlit keyboard.
My question is this. What will doing this outside of Dell do to the warranty? The Caps Lock light does still come on, so I'm thinking it's an issue with the light, and if I have to replace it, I might as well go with the better one.

Apr 21, 2009I recently bought an M4400 from the Dell Outlet. Unfortunately, the one that had everything else I wanted didn't have the backlit keyboard.
From looking at the service manual, it looks like a keyboard swap is pretty easy, but I can't find anywhere (including Dell Parts) to buy the actual keyboard (whose part numbers appear to be either G077C or 330-0825, depending on where you look).

Apr 5, 2009I just got my e6500 4 days ago and I notice that the center segment of the backlit keyboard is slightly bent out.
According to the e6500 review in notebookreview, the reviewer also found such problem.
I don't konw if it a defect or it happens to all the e6500 laptop out there. Please me know.
To me, it is very annoying because my other e6500 non-backlit keyboard just lay on to the laptop perfectly.
