After installing some core drivers, I still could not see the Dell symbol and the Studio XPS 1640 series in My Compyter/ Properties.
Moreover, the eject button of my DVD slotload doesn't know anymore, even if I have check I downloaded the lastest driver of it. (but I can eject by right click in the DVD driver in My Computer and my laptop still reads CD/DVD as usual)
In addition, after install ATI 3670 drivers, I do not see the ajustment for my graphic card anymore.
Any one knows which drivers and software I should install to get my Dell as a new Factory Image Dell Studio XPS 1640 with Windows 7 64 bit, please let me know.

Can anyone direct me to a place i'm able to obtain windows xp 32 bit drivers for my xps studio 1640? Currently i'm running vista 64bit, but due to a few problems i want to go back to XP 32 bit.
I've looked on dell's website and it seems they only provide vista and windows 7 drivers now. Since XP is still commonly used surly i can get the drivers from some where?

HP 14 d037TU drivers are not working for WIN7 64bit as below. I've try all possible way to install the WIN7 64bit drive but no luck. I guess the drive has not been certified for WIN7 64bit. HP, this doesn't accepted as HP is one of the famous laptop brand with buggy and uncomplete product in the market.
I was just checking for drivers for my 1640 (I recently re-installed Windows 7 RC 64 bit) and lo and behold, Dell is now showing 32 and 64 bit Windows 7 operating system choices for the drivers... The available drivers you see when choosing 64 bit Windows 7 are certainly not all there by a long shot and most of them appear to be the same as the Vista drivers but it is at least a promising sign! The new Quickset driver appears to be specifically for Windows 7.
After windows 7/64 install, the drivers for USB controllers are not installed. I can't found USB drivers at hp.com... How and where can I get the drivers?
I recently installed windows 7 64 bit on my new HP pavilion p045tx  notebook but there are no drivers for the inbuilt broadcom wifi adapter which was working fine in windows 8.1 , so there is any way to get the drivers as it is not available on the product support page.  the wlan adapter is BCM43142 802.11 b/g/n.(according to windows 8.1 driver details)
I'm not able to install Intel Management Engine Interface (MEI) Driver. During Installation a message pops up saying, "The setup failed to install one or more drivers." I downloaded the latest version of the above software but still didn't work. I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit.
Sorry if this is posted in the wrong area but I tried one 2 days ago and had no reply's (which I know is not indicative of this fine forum ). To the ppoint. Adore my new laptop.
Not so fond of Vista. Like that is news. Anyhow I just want to know if any xps 1640 owner has achieved an install of Win 7 and managed to get all the various dell additions to work, ie dell camera facial recog, pinch touch pad, fual monitor etc.
For those of you that have a 1640 and have upgraded from Vista to 7, how long did the install take you? And my second question is...did you run into any complications with the upgrade process that I should be aware of before I start it on my wife's laptop?
These drivers are intended for the Studio 1745. The intended use is for a fresh installation of XP_Pro_SP3 32bit. All files are Zipped, and safe. (But always scan any files you download with a good Virus Scan program such as BitDefender, Kaspersky, and Norton)
The links should allow you to just download them without any aggravation. If you notice anything wrong with links or files, please let me know. I don't mind correcting mistakes. After all, that's when you learn.
These files and links could be updated, and replaced accordingly to updates I come across. When reinstalling XP, I recommend installing the below drivers & software in the order of the listing....
When updating to Windows 7 the audio drivers look like the right ones for the studio 15 or any with the IDT,
it is not it is generic and you will need the updated driver from the Dell support site, it adds the surround and bass that will be missing and I noticed a big difference.
