As far as i know, m1330 support intel turbo memory... but where is the slot to insert the memory?
which improve more, from 2gb to 4gb ram or put a 4 gb turbo memory
the m1730 has a slot for the turbo memory under the keyboard correct? if it does, would the 4gb turbo memory work with the m1730,
or is it limited to only 1gb? will the m1730 read this as having 8gb memory? will i see a difference in performance gains,
boot time and loading applications like Adobe Cs4? i have 4gb ram installed right now with raid 0 200gb HD.
Has anyone tried this or even thought to try this? I want to know if besides differing capacities if there are different speeds/classes of the device that are faster than others. Is NAND flash super fast, or just USB drive fast? There's that extra internal WWAN slot that I wouldn't mind filling up with this stuff once I find out the details.
View 4 Replies View RelatedSo I just got my replacement XPS M1640, and luckily enough, the WWAN card slot can be used also for my 1GB 1st gen Turbo Memory card from my M1530. However, upon installing the latest drivers from Intel's website, the Turbo Memory Console indicates that only ReadyDrive is enabled, and that ReadyBoost is disabled. Is there any way to fix this? I know that Turbo Memory is always finicky, as I've dealt with it on my m1530 (but both have been enabled), so when on the 1640 I click the check box to enable it, then restart, it is still disabled, even if I wait 10 minutes in the hopes that it enables after a few minutes of logging in... ?

whether it's possible to install Intel Turbo Memory in the HP 8710w. I've searched through the old threads on this forum, but no one has confirmed one way or another whether Intel Turbo Memory can be fitted into the 8710w.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have the blu-ray 5920g with bluetooth and a 8600, but no turboboost.
Not that its a massively great feature, but I'm guessing my motherboard has an empty spot where the turboost should be? and while these adapters are floating around I'd like to chuck one in there.
What is compatible withe the 5290g. I know turboboost never really took of, so was there only one type? or am I limited to the specific tuboboost adapter from another 5920g, or can I put in others?
Also how would it interact with readyboost and ram in 32bit and 64 bit OSes?
For example You can't go past 4GB of readyboost in 32 bit, even if your system ram is 1gb or 4gb, the max is always 4gb.
With 4gb of ram and 4gb of readboost will you still be able to use a further 2gb of turbooost in a 32 bit OS? Or are readyboost and turboost seen as the same as far as the OS is concerned, thus you will eiether have to use 2gb of readboosy and 2gb of turboost or 4gb of readyboost and no turboboost.
I hav a problem with my laptop in another thread but I though it was fixed. So, the problem is that my laptop doesnt recognize one of the ram card.
When I start the computer some of this cases can happen:
1. Start normally
2.Doesnt start and light the numlock steady and the capslock and arrow is flashing. I need to make a procediment that give me a technician of dell, that is (briefly) removing the ram and put it again,so the computer can start normally. I made it 3-4 times
3. Start but says that memory has changed and now is 2GB instead of 3GB
First of all its a great site and thanks you all here. I'm not a native english speaker so excuse me...
I recently installed windows 7 64-bit and for some reason the windows installation didn't install any driver for the memory stick card reader (and didn't even give a notice or something about that).
I tried to manually install a driver and all I could find is the driver R168331.exe. It installed properly but now it can't read all my memory sticks and it only give me a massage that I need to format the stick (even if its an old one that I used recently).
Even if I'm trying to format the stick a massage come up and say that it can't format the stick because it can't read it right.
I have the Core i7 720QM 1.6GHz - the CPU is supposed to be able to disable two cores and run the other two at 2.8GHz. How is this suppsoed to be accomplished?
View 4 Replies View RelatedThe Turbo Boost technology on my Dell Precision M2800 doesn't seem to be working.
I can't find the driver in Device List, or in System Drivers under, though it does exist and is checked in the BIOS.
Obviously I can't find on Dell Drivers.
What do I need to do to fix this?
Dell lists this computer as a Precision M2800 (Early 2014) on the drivers site.
My new 510p laptop 4700mq cpu can easily go overheat then the turbo boost stoped. Is there a solution to this ?Also the website notebook check found this problem too.
Just see the website, the cpu performs much worse than the same cpu of other computers. [URL] ....
Model: Lenovo z50-75
AMD Vision A8-7100 Processor ,max 3,0 GHz, Â Quad-Core
AMD Radeon R5 M230 Grafik, 2048 MB

Took this from an Notebook review on Notebookcheck(dot)net:
Â
"It is comprised of the integrated Radeon R5 Kaveri graphics core and the dedicated Radeon R5 M230 GPU. The GPUs operate in a so-called Crossfire array, i.e. both cores can perform the calculation of displayed images. This process is, for example, used in computer games. Only the integrated GPU is used for routine tasks and in battery mode"
Â
i've managed to finally install Windows on the Laptop.
Â
But unfortunately he's pretty slow, even with the 4GB added memory.
Â
When i bought it, it was said it had 4x 1,8Ghz CPU speed which could go on up to 3Ghz.
Also this dual Graphics solution is somewhy worse than the desktop Computers is, even though the Desktop computer has way worse components. It's said that the normal usage of the computer only requires the graphic processors of the GPU. however there is a graphic card with dedicated memory which should be activated whenever requirement on higher performance applications / games is needed.
I have restarted my laptop and the processor is stuck in 2.5 GHz in all the energy modes.
The turbo boost doesn't work anymore and even when I choose Low energy or download mode, the frequency stays 2.5GHz while it was 0.75Ghz before.

Dear Friends can u give me your valuable suggestions , is this good system or worth for money? I'd like to do some gaming, definitely video editing/production and watch movies.
Also... typical office apps, and photo manipulation, program compilation, dot net program development . I like to keep my hardware for five years, buying the best available architecture, but not necessarily the top of the line in performance.
A friend just showed me his new Dell Vostro lappy. He has 4 GB of DDR2 800mhz memory on it when compared to my 4 GB of DDR2 667mhz memory on my XPS 1530
However, under his windows experience score - he gets 5.9 score for memory operations while I just get a 5.1. I can't believe that a couple of hundred mhz can result in such a drastic difference.
Is there something optimized for his system but not for mine?
My HP Envy 15-3040nr has an Intel i7-2670QM processor, which works with Turbo Boost just fine. My laptop goes to a maximum of 3.0 GHz when under full load (I render heavy gameplay videos), and underclocks just fine when in energy saver mode.
Â
However, I want to know if it is possible to LOCK the processor's clock rate at a consistently high rate, say, something like 2.9 (or an unrealistic 3.1 GHz, the rated turbo high) GHz, assuming that heat is not an issue (yes, it obviously will be an issue, but let's just say it isn't).
I have i5-3210m processor, but turbo boost not work. I dont find any turbo boost options in bios. What can i do?

I have the HP document that shows for two 4gb memory modules, one should be in memory slot 1 and the other in memory slot 3 for correct functioning of dual channel memory. Â All set right?
Â
Not quite.  In the Elitebook 8540w, the primary memory slots under the keyboard are clearly labeled "1" and "2"  However, the expansion memory slots on the underside of the chassis are also clearly labeled "1" and "2"  Opps!  There is no "3" and there is no "4"  In which of the unfilled three slots do I install the second 4gb module for correct functioning of dual channel memory?
i having the Acer TravelMate 6493, originally it have 2GB of Memory. Recently, i have addin additional 2GB, mean that currently the system is having 4GB of Memory.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have been hearing that the read/playback performance of the bluray drive on this laptop is terrible. Some say that it stutters all the way through an entire movie and it is very loud. Is this true? My second question is about the $375 charge for upgrading from 4GB RAM to 8GB RAM. Is it overpriced? Also, how easy is it to upgrade the RAM on the XPS 16?

I have a 2.5 year old E1705 notebook. I'm going to upgrade to W7 soon and in the process I thought I'd upgrade my memory from 2GB to 4GB.
I ran Dell's utility from their tech support page and it seems to be the case that the maximum my computer will support is 2GB! Is that possible?
In any case, I ran a diagnostic program (from Dell's utility) and it says my computer has two memory slots, and currently each slot on my computer has "Dual In-line Memory Module 1GB, 533, 128X64, 8K, 200", whatever that means.
I assume the 533 is memory speed (Hz) value. So according to Dell's utility, I am unable to increase the amount of RAM, but I could, for instance, "upgrade" to better chips (i.e., Dell sells DDR2 SDRAM Memory Speed: 800 MHz). Price would be $56.
I'm with Studio 1535 and strangely for me with:
2 GB Kingston
1 GB Sam sung
on Dell Web my notebook appears as only 2 GB Kingston.
But Kingston is very good ram mark.
Samsung is wide used by HP.
So I guess they both are very good!In my eyes Kingston is better but Sam sung is not bad too. (I doubt my samsung blank little overheat but I don't have issues with my ram till now, so...)
I was wondering if anyone had tried putting those G-Skill 4GB memory chips onto a Dell m1730 laptop, and if so, did they notice any major performance gains in doing so.
I use a few simulators at home, especially a Cisco sim called Dynamips which is both a CPU and memory hog, and I also use VMWARE a bit, so I thought I'd see if it's worth the upgrade to 8 GBs of RAM.
Any comments on stability, usefulness, experiences in Vista, etc. getting the system to recognize the full 8 GBs of RAM, etc.
I was wondering if anyone else here could help me out...I'm needing to buy some more memory for my xps m1210 that's a couple of years old...
what's the best way to go about doing this? should i buy it from Dell or Best Buy or new egg?
also, if anyone knows, is it worth my time to try and install it myself or should i just pay the 40 or whatever to geek squad?
