Dell :: Outlet: Reufrbished Vs. S&D With Slightly Better Featues

I'm debating between these 2 laptops from the dell outlet:
Scratch & Dent E6400 laptop with a led screen, Quadro card, 160GB 5400 rpm drive, 6 cell battery, 2gb ram, backlit KB and camera, 5300AGN and bluetooth.
VS. a Refurbished laptop with a led screen, Intel 4500mhd, 80gb 7200rpm drive, 9 cell battery, 4GB ram, Camera and 5100AGN.
Both are exactly the same price...
Which one is the better deal? Is there a big difference between refurbished to scratch and dent?

I put a 320 gig 7200prm hard-drive into the laptop. Now the laptop is slightly vibrating.
I have twice removed and re-seated the 7200prm HD into the laptop. It's in there firmly, but it still slightly vibrates. The small vibration is most noticeable on the wrist rests, and the upper left side of the laptop.
No vibration at all in the upper right corner of the laptop.

I have a Dell Studio 1737 that is having problems shutting down. While it's running; if I tilt the screen slightly the power light will flicker on and off and the laptop shuts down completely. When I tilt the screen again, the laptop will power back on and start booting up without having to press the power button. I have all the power settings set to never and set the laptop to do nothing when I close the lid. Seems to be a short in a power cable somewhere in the screen? Running Vista 64 SP2. This laptop is a month out of warranty. Does the whole screen have to be replaced or can the power system be replaced?? Haven't opened it up yet to see how the power system is set in the bottom of the screen.

My inspiron 15r 5520 is 1 year old and now it shuts down suddenly when doing slightly stressful tasks like playing games ,which i didn't encounter in the starting months.
But from week whenever i play a game it shuts down in 10 min .Later i tried few suggestions from dell forums on overheating and found that the laptop runs fine on battery and as soon i plug in the adapter it turns off in 10 min .I checked if it is a overheating problem and found the cores temp at around 60 degrees celsius when idle and it crosses 100 when i play games plugged in and around 95 degrees on battery.
I then checked if its due to dust but everything is clean and i use a cooling pad so this is quite abnormal.
I have all the updated drivers and bios, fresh installed windows again, so what to do...

My T440p slightly adjusts the screen brightness depending on what is being displayed. For example, on Chrome, one page might have more images, so the screen slightly adjusts brighter or darker. Another page it might slightly adjust again. And it does it when scrolling down a page as well. It is distracting, and I want to disable it? I'm on windows 7.

There are now 24 SXPS16's on the Outlet. Max price is $2469, minimum is $859
Highest price is $1,499, lowest is $879.
All come with the HD 3670 graphics. Some with Blu Ray + RGB 1080p screen

Are the products sold through the Dell Outlet as good as ordering brand new? I am interested in a Studio 15 laptop, but a new one is beyond my budget.
A previously ordered new can be bought in the outlet for as little as about $650 or so. What am I losing by buying from the outlet rather than new?

I'm curious to hear what experiences you all have had with laptops from Dell Outlet (looking at Latitude D630). Was it a scratch-and-dent, refurbished, previously ordered new, etc.?
I would upgrade to 3-year Pro Support and Warranty and buy additional accessories (docking station, router, etc.).
Is it worth the risk? Will they take it back no questions asked or do I have to pay 15% restocking fee? (Dell was ambiguous about this).

i'm considering buying an e6400 from the outlet and i've been trying for days to find a configuration that i'm happy with. i've noticed that the hardest to get "right" are the screen and battery which is where this question comes in.
when i get an outlet "scratch/dent" or "cert refurb" are the batteries the original ones or are they new? i ask because if they're the old ones, there isn't too much of a point in getting a 9 cell over 6 cell because the batteries have probably lost a bit of capacity already.

I have a choice to buy an M4400 from either dell outlet or ascendtech for the same price; $900. However, the latter offers an core 2 extreme x9100
(instead of a 2.4 P from the outlet) but with only 30 days warranty! I hear that dell outlet offers 3 years warranty...
I don't know much about Precision station quality or reliability so I want to know your opinion about which I should go for. In my head

Just bought a Dell Mini 9 from the outlet shop in the UK. Have given it to my parents who are off to the north america for a year. I really wanted a mini 9 with a 3g card, but in the UK they are only available from vodafone with 24 month contract. ah well.
To my surprise it turned up with a 3g card installed and the vodafone s/w installed, l added my own sim card and tested and it worked first time.
Is this the normal or was l lucky? As l might buy a second one for my wife if l can get it with 3g again.
I have also removed the 1gb stick and replaced with a 2gb one. £195 inc VAT and delivery from the outlet store, plus £20.99 for the 2gb stick

The recent addition of the 4670 option is what sold me on the SXPS 16, but I am ok with waiting a bit to save some money.
I guess my question is: in general, how long does it take new products to appear on the outlet website? or if you KNOW when the 4670 SXPSs will hit, can you tell me that?

However all the processors show up as 'Click System ID - 0'

Dumb as it sounds, can anyone confirm for me that the refurbished models do in fact come with a processor and what spec it is?
