What are my options for a sleeve that is tougher than some thin neoprene p.o.s. ? I am going to use the sleeve and then put it in my backpack with books so it needs to be pretty durable
I bought a Sony Vaio vpcf111fx/b 17" laptop and I'm looking to protect it from scratches and dings. I'm not looking for a skin. I've been looking thru google but all I find are hard shells for Mac's.
Can anyone who recently purchased an XPS 13/16 confirm whether or not they received the fast access cd and microfiber sleeve? I bought an XPS 16 and was told bya tech that fast access is not available as a disc and that the sleeves are no longer being shipped with the systems.
01/28/2010 02:09:09PMAgent (Adi akhil_199538): "Well we don't have the disc for the fast access and we made it easy for our customers to download from the site." 01/28/2010 02:09:38PMAgent (Adi akhil_199538): "And regarding the Microfiber Dell Sleeve, Dell use to be ship the Sleeve long back and it is been stopped."
What i was wondering if my girlfriend's 06 core 2 duo macbook would be able to be disassembled and put into an 08 core 2 duo macbook's shell or case or whatever you call it. The non unibody version.
Reason is just to swap it out so it can look like new again.
I just came back from the store where they had a display model of the White Macbook and it was full of swirl marks (tiny scratches) everywhere on the outside shell. My question is... Do they come with tiny scratches like that from the factory or are they pristine when you get them?
Just picked up an E6400. Went from a D630 to T61 to X61 tablet to Vaio SZ and now to the E6400. Am looking for sleeve recommendations. Those that have an E6400 what brands/sizes are you using and how do you like your sleeve?
I'm trying to find a cheap laptop sleeve for my G60 120-US. Does anyone have any suggestions for a 15.6'' sleeve? Or should I get one that's larger than the laptop in size?

recently I picked up a 13" MBP and I'm still kinda adjusting to it, but loving it so far.
I'll be going out of the country (volunteering in Taiwan) on Jul 2nd for a month and I need a sleeve so I can throw the thing in my backpack without having to worry about scratches and dents.
I'm looking for something that has like a "second skin" fit and is tailored for the MBP.
A good example fo what I'm looking for is the booq Taipan. Hopefully it's not too expensive and either something I can pick up locally or is available in Taiwan as I'm not sure if I can get it shipped to me on time for my trip (I'm in Orange County, CA).
i would like a bit of raid action or a ssd to compliment my 500gb drive but i doubt it has the additional bay and i cant be bothered taking all those screws out......
I'm having software related issues with my sxps 16 that I can't seem to resolve, so I'm probably going to wipe the hard drive and do a fresh install of vista. Can someone tell me how to format the hard drive? I've reformatted hard drives before, but I've always hooked it up to my desktop as a secondary drive to do so.
My Studio originally had a Toshiba, 5400 rpm 250 gb drive in it.
I bought a Western Digital 7200 rpm 360 gb drive to add to my laptop. I also got the carrier assembly from Dell and I installed the Western Digital into the Studio 17 in drive bay 1 , and put the Toshiba into Drive bay 2.
I had made an image of my C drive with Vista on it, and after installing the new hard drive I put the image onto the Western Digital drive, and all seemed to be well, I booted up and get into Vista, but now I see the C:
local hard drive shows exactly what I had before, and Vista is showing my new drive as Drive F: but it also has all my files on it exactly as the original C image that I made .....
Anyone have any success finding a case or sleeve that fits your Timeline snuggly? I'm specifically looking for a 4810 sleeve but post up what you're using and Timeline model number.
I was looking for a sleeve for my HP HDX 16t. I have not been able to find any sleeves that are 16 inches. I can only find the 15.4" and 17" ones. Will one of those work while still being fairly snug or do you know of a 16" one?
As I am patiently waiting for MBP 13" to arrive, I was thinking about the best way to protect it from physical damage because I hear that the aluminum body is prone to scratches and dents rather easily.
So, I was curious to know how other members on this board are protecting their MBPs. Are you using a sleeve or a case (shell) or both? I was looking to purchase a Incase Neoprene Sleeve and maybe a specks satin shell, but I don't know if that is overkill or is really needed.
