And now am using windows 7 ( Fresh and clean install) ..But i noticed that my WEI Is 4.8 and here is a screen shot
[img=[url]
How come my GPU get 4.8 And in Vista gets 5!
Although I installed the latest driver software for my GPU 179.48_notebook_winvista_32bit_beta
This problem number 1
problem Number 2 that ..When i use windows 7 themes that called (areo) i face lag for 1 sec when i close any windows and when i browse my files!
this lag disappeared when i use the basic them ( Not the Aero one ) it's totally dissapared and i can browse and close my files Very fast without any lag!
So the Question here .. is my GPU performance going down or what?
After i bought it the welcome msg screen on vista was taken like 3 sec now it takes 15 sec ..even with clean installation for the windows ..
I have had several problems with this laptop due it overheats, turns off with no reason. I have sent it to warranty service for three, yes three times. Last one one month ago and I still haven't received back my laptop... HP Sucks... I wont stop posting this kind of mesages on the web until I get an answer from HP...
Shut it off one day and it wont load windows the next day. I get to the HP logo on start up and then the screen goes blank. After about 5 mins, the HP logo come back up again indicating the system is stuck in a restart loop. I cant get it to enter safe mode. I have removed the battery and held down the power button for up to 60 secs. No go. By hitting the escape button while the HP logo comes up, i was able to get to a limited menu where you can check memory and supposedly the hard drive. Ran through all that. No go. Removed CMOS battery for 5 minutes. No go. About the only thing i have not done yet is reseat the memory. I'll try that soon. From experience, am i looking at possibly a dead HD or is this sounding like a mobo issue?
So my dv5t has Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit installed a while back and I've noticed that there's a lot of static, popping, crackling noises that randomly occurs during playback. I have the latest audio driver, IDT 6.10.6242.0. There's no power management turned on and I don't know what else to do.
I recently upgraded my DV5T to Windows 7 Professional (x64) and my bluetooth will no longer find devices, it just endlessly searches for a device. The device in question is a Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000.
I'm not really sure what to do at this point. The driver is updated. Bluetooth is on in services.msc. The mouse is in connect mode. Yet still can't be found.
Just installed Win7 on dv5t and everything looks to be wroking good, the only issue I have is that I allways get the "Safely remove Hardware" for the internal HD (image attached),
I am getting quite scared about my hp dv5t its getting really hot. The cpu is always at 50-mostly around 65 degrees doing normal work. I keep it on a targus cooler sometimes, but when im on campus I can only use the bare desk. I have undervolted the computer and the gpu is fine always maxing out at around 60 degrees and the harddrive is always at like 40. How do I keep this cpu from getting so high? It makes the computer really hot. Anything like undervolting, or anything free would be a + point.
i bought an hp dv5t laptop about 7 months ago.my laptop battery has been working fine since then.few days back it has has started to give me problems.sometimes it refuses to charge when ac power is connected e.g it stays on lets say 20% even though its been on AC for a long time.well sometimes it charges normally without any problems.also i have noticed that it charging time has increased a lot from about 25 minutes to 40 min. is there anyting wrong with the battery or is my ac adapter faulty?how can i improve my battery condition?
I have been trying to get 5.1 sound with my laptop, i have heard people i think with other models that make microphone jack into a center/surround output, and other have said that its possible with hdmi but i have tried with latest drivers of HMDI that i got (1.0.0.42).
so i've got a dv5t. i have the notebook raised up 6 inches in the back while on a desk, and i've also got it undervolted (down to 1.0250V on the 9x actually) and this machine always runs hot. hotter while in games (which makes sense.) but even while just browsing the net, it gets hot.
I'm considering buying the HP dv5t with the 9200 GPU. I don't really game much. Will I have the same heating issues that I read about on these boards so often? It sounds like they mostly relate to a) intense gaming; b) use of the 9600 card .
I am trying to burn a few CDs for my girlfriend and I am coming across a few problems.
I have tried burning with Zune software, WMP and a free burner called CDBurnerXP.
Sometimes the CDs will burn fine all the way through, and other times after half way it stops and I get error messages. This has happened with all the programs I have listed.
The error is something along the lines of saying to check if the drive is connected properly or possible driver issues. Can someone direct me to the latest driver for the CD drive?
Anyone else encounter any similar problems when trying to burn CDs?
Forgot to mention this is also happening on my girlfriends laptop, which is also a dv5t...
I've gotten my dv5t since august of 08. Early this year, i did a clean install and after that, I have been getting the same bsod when i play GTA IV and some other games. The codes that I were
0x000001, 0x000000000000001, 0x0000000000000000, 0xFFFFFA600005E5180, and 0x0000000000000001
I'm thinking its heat related but this never happened before I did a clean install.
Specs: T9400 9600M GT 3GB ram
I also undervolted it and have an antec cooler. thanks.
Without undervolting, i reached 91 degrees Celsius for cpu and 86 for gpu. That seems pretty high for me..
P8600 3gb ram 512mb 9600 GT 240gb 7200rpm win xp pro sp3
this picture is WITH a small undervolt and WITH antec cooling fan
ignore that min, probably a glitch
atm the only real "load" i have running is firefox, digsby (IM client), and itunes. only real cpu usage (through task manager) is firefox. when i exit everything and have nothing running, it use to idle at around 70C but after undervolt i can get it to around 60C
my HP dv5t cpu is just way too hot. I keep pretty good care of my laptop and there is not really dust inside but if I just watch a youtube video my temperatures can easily go up to 65C even with a 1.875 volt to 1.075 undervolt. I have a cooler as well, and the temperatures still are just way too hot. If i play a game like tf2 my cpu easily goes to 75C while the GPU and HDD stay well within acceptable and even cool temperatures. I don't really know why the cpu is so hot compared to everything else. My friend has suggested it might be thermal paste not being applied correctly and I was looking for a second diagnoses. Should i be sending the laptop into HP? And if so what do I call / what do i tell them for the best/fastest service? Should I try to get some Arctic silver and apply thermal paste myself? My friend says he can do it easy enough but he would like a disassembly guide on how to get to the cpu and remove the heatsink.
When i first bought it brand new from best buy right after christmas i could run it all the time and i would notice it would get hot but i never had issues with it until january when it overheated for the first time.
Right after that i went to best buy and bought a USB fan to put underneath it and it seemed to solve the problem. It would be cool to the touch. Until once again... it overheated and kept getting worse and worse.
Now i am to the point where i have to use the fan underneath it, have a small room fan blowing on it, and rob it of performance by turning it to power saver mode which is really frusterating. I also updated the BIOS to make the internal fan run faster which seemed to help a little.
Just a note, i use CoreTemp to monitor the CPU temp with the above setup, it reads 71 degrees Celsius right now.
I just switched it to high performance and it instantly jumped up to 85 degrees and is climbing... now its 88 even with all theese fans on it. I have firefox open, windows live messenger and windows media player running. Now its 92. Im gonna unplug it and turn it to powersaver.. (95 degrees and dropping...)
So my mom is going to buy me the hp dv5t and I have a question about the screen res. If I order the screen with the WXGA 1280x800 can I change the res on the laptop to anything higher to make my icons smaller?
Is there something currently wrong with the dv5t that I should know about? I keep hearing some people say there's a bad chip and that's why the 9600m gt isn't offered anymore.
i have the hp dv5t-1000 CTO and here's my problem:
I cant figure out what driver i need to download to fix that. I think it's something to do with my USB ports, but that doesn't make any sense. thanks in advance!
edit: i tried to DL this: JMicron Card Reader Driver [url] but it freezes in the installer everytime.
when i connect my DV5T to my PANASONIC and LG tv via HDMI it show nothing, i open nvidia control panel, and no extra display is shown, so i have to unplug/plug the hdmi cord several times before the tv is listed....
i have overclocked 9600m gt using f.05 bios and rivatuner.i have been facing some problems with f.05 bios like slow start up and shutdown times, and some other problems.so i tried updating my bios which solved above problems but i cant oc 9600m gt anymore with any bios upto f.16 bios except f.05 bios.i have tried all bios from hp.is there anyway to oc 9600m gt using any other bios rather than f.05 bios.
I purchased this dv5t laptop back in June 2008, and it has always been reliable. I just came back home from work & now I can't even turn the darn thing on. If I hold the power on button nothing happens. The Ac adapter is still working & I've tried taking out the battery, but that didn't help.
