HP/Compaq :: Windows 7 Comes With All DV5t Drivers
Nov 9, 2009It seems everything on my computer works and I didn't install a single driver...
Should I install them anyways or what?
It seems everything on my computer works and I didn't install a single driver...
Should I install them anyways or what?
I was looking to reformat my notebook and I was curious what the essential drviers are? I have Windows Vista disks so I won't be using HPs bloatware junk. I saw the thread with updated drivers but what can I ignore?
I know I will need the graphics, ethernet card, sound drivers... but what else? I want the bare minimum. I hate HP software?
Stuff like quicklaunch I can ignore right? I just need to make sure I install the quick touch button drivers right?
I was looking for a DV5T-1000 thread as I just ordered this laptop and want to install a fresh copy of either Vista 64-bit or Vista-32 bit, I don't care although the laptop came with 4 Gig and I know to see all 4, I need 64.
Either way, I found an older thread for XP drivers and I also know it depends on what hardware you system has, so unless someone can point me to a thread, I'm looking for the LATEST drivers and to make sure I am not missing any.
I will probably have a guy from work help me since I'm not the techiest but I'll need to tell him what to do :P (we're good at that, right? :P)
Here is what mine is coming with and I tried to assemble my best guess at drivers. The HP site helps a bit but many drivers seem older and I'm not sure I need all of them of course.
in my "Device Manager" there is an "Unknown device" which is Webcam. I'm not sure what happened with drivers.
I looked at hp.com but they don't have any drivers for a web cam just a software to use webcam.
where I can download drivers?

since I haven’t been able to find a thread listing all the latest drivers for the dv5t I've decided to make one myself. Let me be clear, this is for ADVANCED USERS ONLY.
For the average user you can find the latest drivers for your specific model at www.hp.com. This thread may contain drivers that are not specifically targetted at the HP dv5t but appear to work with it correctly. These drivers may not include vendor specific functionality that HP may have added (although I have not heard of any instances of this being so). Some of these drivers may work with other series of laptops but this is NOT guaranteed. I cannot guarantee these drivers will work correctly for everyone here so please be careful - only install these if you know how to revert any changes you have made. I am only including WHQL certified drivers, so regardless of what site they come from you know they are authentic. I've tested some of these drivers on my machine and they work perfectly well however I am unable to test everything. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. Without further ado:
Intel Chipset Software Installation Utility:
Version: 9.1.1.1020
OS Support: Windows Vista, Windows 7

Notes: I recommend running the setup file from an elevated command prompt with the "-overall" flag (without quotes). This will assure that all devices are updated.....
how to slipstream sata drivers onto Windows XP installation disk I decided to try it out. I had two unsuccessful attempts and I'm wondering that it probably is due to me using the wrong drivers for the job.
I have a Dv5t 1135ee, can anybody please direct me to the right drivers that I need to put onto my Windows XP installtion disk to not get a BSoD.
I finally finished re-installing all my apps and whatnot, but Windows 7 Beta is quite nice!

View 10 Replies View RelatedShut it off one day and it wont load windows the next day. I get to the HP logo on start up and then the screen goes blank. After about 5 mins, the HP logo come back up again indicating the system is stuck in a restart loop. I cant get it to enter safe mode. I have removed the battery and held down the power button for up to 60 secs. No go. By hitting the escape button while the HP logo comes up, i was able to get to a limited menu where you can check memory and supposedly the hard drive. Ran through all that. No go. Removed CMOS battery for 5 minutes. No go. About the only thing i have not done yet is reseat the memory. I'll try that soon. From experience, am i looking at possibly a dead HD or is this sounding like a mobo issue?
View 4 Replies View RelatedSo my dv5t has Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit installed a while back and I've noticed that there's a lot of static, popping, crackling noises that randomly occurs during playback. I have the latest audio driver, IDT 6.10.6242.0. There's no power management turned on and I don't know what else to do.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded my DV5T to Windows 7 Professional (x64) and my bluetooth will no longer find devices, it just endlessly searches for a device. The device in question is a Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000.
I'm not really sure what to do at this point. The driver is updated. Bluetooth is on in services.msc. The mouse is in connect mode. Yet still can't be found.
Just installed Win7 on dv5t and everything looks to be wroking good, the only issue I have is that I allways get the "Safely remove Hardware" for the internal HD (image attached),

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a dv9820us laptop, it came with Windows Home Vista Premium 64. I trashed vista fiasco, and installed Win7 64. I cannot believe HP don;t support Windows 7 for this laptop.
Almost everything works fine with Win7, but not the audio, mic, etc. The conexant audio driver has problems and is not compatible with Windows 7. Does anyone know how to fix this? maybe a official driver is available?
I tried a modified version of the driver from here, but it still doesn't work, sometimes the audio work, sometime don't.
I hate bloatware vista, and I don't want to pay for the recovery cds from HP. (i don't have the recovery partition and the recovery cd that i made, brings an error)

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy notebook is a HP Pavilion dv6-1220sb with a ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4530 graphics card. I am running Windows 7 and I am trying to install the drivers.
Out of the box Windows 7 detecs the graphics card as:
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4500 Series (Microsoft Corporation WDDM 1.1)
This are the hardware IDs:
PCIVEN_1002&DEV_9553&SUBSYS_3628103C&REV_00

PCIVEN_1002&DEV_9553&CC_030000
PCIVEN_1002&DEV_9553&CC_0300
I have modified the .inf files by adding this line:
"ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4530" = ati2mtag_M9x, PCIVEN_1002&DEV_9553
"ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4530" = ati2mtag_M9x, PCIVEN_1002&DEV_9553&SUBSYS_3628103C
When I run the installer it finishes very quickly and no software is installed and there are no error warnings.

This is what I have, and I imagine HP probably use the same drivers for most of its late model laptops on windows 7 for the touch activated media button i.e. the back lit strip above the keyboard just below the LED screen that let you activate WIFI, sound. playback..etc..
I have read from several posts that windows 7 install fine on HP laptop just that the touch strip driver does not work with the factory drivers.
Is the fan meant to blow air of the back vent on the bottom of the DV5t?
Air blows out of the side vent but very little air blows out the back vent even when gaming. Im worried the vent is blocked.
Im concerned because the CPU reaches 85c when playing games, which seems a bit high for a CPU in my opinion.
I am getting quite scared about my hp dv5t its getting really hot. The cpu is always at 50-mostly around 65 degrees doing normal work. I keep it on a targus cooler sometimes, but when im on campus I can only use the bare desk. I have undervolted the computer and the gpu is fine always maxing out at around 60 degrees and the harddrive is always at like 40. How do I keep this cpu from getting so high? It makes the computer really hot. Anything like undervolting, or anything free would be a + point.

is there anyting wrong with the battery or is my ac adapter faulty?how can i improve my battery condition?
I have been trying to get 5.1 sound with my laptop, i have heard people i think with other models that make microphone jack into a center/surround output, and other have said that its possible with hdmi but i have tried with latest drivers of HMDI that i got (1.0.0.42).
