View 1 RepliesI'm not able to install Intel Management Engine Interface (MEI) Driver. During Installation a message pops up saying, "The setup failed to install one or more drivers." I downloaded the latest version of the above software but still didn't work. I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit.

I am getting my win7 upgrade disc tomorrow for my studio 1555, and I was wondering a few things before I carry out my clean install.
First, with regards to drivers, there do not seem to be drivers for everything on the dell win7 driver page (nothing for bluetooth, system utilities, etc.). I have downloaded everything relevant to my computer, but where can I find the rest of the drivers I need? Also, what order should I be installing them?
Second question is in regards to the recovery partition. Is there any point keeping it? I have heard various things about whether it will or won't work after installing windows 7
I have a Sony vaio FW21M
it has the mata bd-mlt uj230as basically the blu-ray drive......
I was wondering if anyone has the correct driver for this because I can't seem to play any blurays and can't burn anything with it, it just works like a normal dvd drive, does nothing else
I did a clean install so i need the firmware, I tried all the links on this forum and can only find the UPDATE for the driver not the original install..........
Actually i have on my HP notebook ( H0W28EA ) SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop. But i want install Windows 7. I put pendrive to my notebook, boot, and... error : No device driver were found. I don't have DVD/CD with drivers with my notebook.. I don't understand which drivers i must download.
View 2 Replies View Related I have a HP EliteBook 8460p. Replaced the faulty hard drive with a new Hard drive which was sent by HP. Tried to do a new, clean install of Windows 7 Pro but I keep getting an error that says "a required cd/dvd device driver is missing".
I have read some HP support forum where i need to download Storage Controller Driver [URL] ...
I'm unable to find the Storage Controller Driver, link to download [URL] ....
I recently bought an HP. I used my trusty dynex 5 button mouse and plugged it in as soon as I started up windows after setting up the computer. Everything worked fine until recently. Windows would rapidly detect and un-detect the mouse and now it doesn't detect it at all. The usb's still detect my external hdd, so it's gotta be some kind of driver issue even though the mouse worked flawlessly when I first got the computer
How do I re-install the drivers for the USB client? The computer did not come with any disks, I had to burn the recovery disks when I first got the computer.
I'm trying to install:
1.) Intel turbo boost technology driver (for i7 processors) and...
2.) Intel management engine driver
I keep getting an error message telling me that my hardware doesn't meet the minimum system requirements to install the software...which makes no sense! I've already installed the Intel chipset driver and the intel rapid storage driver AKA matrix storage driver. These two must be installed before installing the ones that are refusing to install.
I called HP, got India and the guy insists just because the driver is listed for my product doesn't mean it needs to be installed. I just kinda laughed it off, he was useless.
So I did a google search on the problem and it seems a lot of people are having the same problem getting these two drives to install-same error message and everything.
any info on IF they really need to be installed and if so, how the heck do you get them to install already?
I'm trying to install:
1.) Intel turbo boost technology driver and...
2.) Intel management engine driver (listed on HP's website for my product but not on this site for the thread devoted to my system and driver installations ([Drivers] HP dv6 Gen 2 / dv7 Gen 3 / dv8 / HDX16 / HDX18 (INTEL))

I had to re-install Windows after a hacker locked my system. I hadn't had the unit long, so didn't lose tons of important data or files. But, I hadn't had time to really get to know my system either....so now I have the new issue of trying to determine what all the hardware is that is not recognized. I thought I would come to hp.com, find my drivers, download and be DONE.
(HP ProBook 4440S running WIndows Home Premium, 34 Bit)
I have yellow exclamation marks on the following devices in Device Manager:
1. Base System Device
2. Base System Device
3. Ethernet Controller
4> Network Controller
5. PCI Simple Com Device
6. USB Controller
7. Unknown Device
If there weren't SO MANY drivers, this could be simple!
I have had an aspire 5920g for about 18 months now and it was all working fine until I updated the graphic drivers, but the drivers stopped installing halfway through and now I can't install any graphic drivers.
I tried to install my original drivers and they won't install. The system keeps freezing and I think thats the problem.
I've tried making a recovery disc but erecovery won't recognize blank DVD's and acer 'support' are only too happy to grab you by your feet, turn you upside down and let all your money fall out so they can charge you for a reovery disc - absolutely ridiculous - instead of actually trying to help me.
And also for some reason a yellow triangle appeared next to the ACEYTS4Y IDE controller a week after I got it but up until now didn't seem to cause any problems.
I have an HDX18t with an SSD partitioned for Vista and the Win7 RC. When I get my upgrade disc for Win 7, I'm considering installing it over the Win 7 RC partition and leaving the Vista partition in tact for now in case their are any problems with the install. I've read that you can do a clean install even with the upgrade disc. Is this a viable and/or advisable method?
View 3 Replies View RelatedJust installed Windows 7 on my HDX16t. For the most part, everything is working great with minimal drivers install. Had to install the memory card reader, and a few others but worked fine with Vista drivers.
What I can't get working are the quick launch buttons. The mute works (although it doesn't change colors), the volume up and down works, The treble / Bass does NOT work, wifi works, and the media smart, stop, play, eject , etc do NOT work.
Anyone get these working with Windows 7? If so can you point me to the drivers and or process?
My new DV7t Quad should be coming on Friday. Right now it is stuck in China, but I was wondering. Would it be better to keep the Windows 7 that they have install on the computer, or should I do a clean install? Right now, I have Windows 7 Ultimate running my old laptop, however, I only the disk for the 32 bit. While my Quad will be a 64 bit.
So if it would be a benefit to do a clean install, could someone explain how to do it without having a new windows 7 disk. I did order the system restore disks from HP when I bought the computer.
I just tried doing this a couple days ago and at first it was working perfectly. About a day later when I came home from work and turned it on, it took about 3 minutes to load and I got all kinds of errors. Aero Glass was disabled, it told me that it couldn't initialize the "Windows Notification Service service", and all other manner of problems existed. I tried doing a system restore to a configuration that was about a day older, and that seemed to work the rest of the night. When I came home again the next day and started it up, the same problems were back.
I'm ready to do another reformat and reinstall, but I'm curious how everyone else is doing this (successfully). The method I used last time was to just let it install drivers for everything it found, then supplement what it couldn't find with drivers off the HP website. Unfortunately there are about 20 different HDX16 configs on there, so I'm not sure if I got the right one. Are the drivers different among them?
Do the drivers work for the touchscreen/waycom stuff? Any other caveats.
My experience with Windows 7 on "regular" laptops has been good, but haven't gone down the tablet route yet.
The laptop I bought back in August came with Vista Home Premium 64-bit, so later this month I will be receiving the free Windows 7 "upgrade" disc from HP... My main question is, will I or won't I be able to do a clean install with just this disc?

I downloaded and burned an ISO Win7 install file (legal, I am using a purchased key to register it), and wanted to do a clean install of Windows 7 without all the HP Bloatware crap like the sticky at the top of this forum suggests.... and when the install is done its first restart, and is on the Completing installation... phase the second time, it gives me a:
"Windows setup could not configure windows to run on this computers hardware".
Are you serious?
Does anyone have a fix for this please. I now have an inoperable, and un-installable brand new laptop. Sweet.
I am installing it via the USB DVD Drive, through a DVD (Not even a USB flash drive problem!). I have tried it twice now and it failed both times. I even tried reseting the BIOS settings to default.
It's obviously a glitch in something, because I was running Win7 on the laptop this afternoon.
I have a dv9820us laptop, it came with Windows Home Vista Premium 64. I trashed vista fiasco, and installed Win7 64. I cannot believe HP don;t support Windows 7 for this laptop.
Almost everything works fine with Win7, but not the audio, mic, etc. The conexant audio driver has problems and is not compatible with Windows 7. Does anyone know how to fix this? maybe a official driver is available?
I tried a modified version of the driver from here, but it still doesn't work, sometimes the audio work, sometime don't.
I hate bloatware vista, and I don't want to pay for the recovery cds from HP. (i don't have the recovery partition and the recovery cd that i made, brings an error)

I am going to install MSDN version Win 7 on my dv6700. Is there any issues, esp. drivers issues so far with this setup? Do current vista drivers work well with Windows 7?
I am not concerned about big things like display drivers. I am just crossing fingers for drivers like authentec, wifi and bluetooth?
Is it possible to do a clean install of Windows 7 on a dv6000 laptop that currently has Vista Home Premium? I know it is possible to do an in-place upgrade but I will want to do a clean install. From everything I have read, it sounds like Win 7 will require you to have a set of original Vista install disks as verification. No actual preinstalled disk came with my HP laptop. There was a partition with a copy of the backup files but that was deleted when I created my HP backup disks. I would not be surprised if the backup disk was rejected by Windows 7 if I tried to use it for verification.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy notebook is a HP Pavilion dv6-1220sb with a ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4530 graphics card. I am running Windows 7 and I am trying to install the drivers.
Out of the box Windows 7 detecs the graphics card as:
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4500 Series (Microsoft Corporation WDDM 1.1)
This are the hardware IDs:
PCIVEN_1002&DEV_9553&SUBSYS_3628103C&REV_00
PCIVEN_1002&DEV_9553&SUBSYS_3628103C
PCIVEN_1002&DEV_9553&CC_030000
PCIVEN_1002&DEV_9553&CC_0300
I have modified the .inf files by adding this line:
"ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4530" = ati2mtag_M9x, PCIVEN_1002&DEV_9553
"ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4530" = ati2mtag_M9x, PCIVEN_1002&DEV_9553&SUBSYS_3628103C
When I run the installer it finishes very quickly and no software is installed and there are no error warnings.
