HP/Compaq :: GeForce Go 6150 Drivers

Apr 25, 2010

I have a hp compaq v6000 laptop with a GeForce Go 6150. The last driver I could find for it was made in 2006. I was wondering if there was any newer drivers or some solution either official or unofficial that could make it so I can test OpenGl 3.0-3.3 dependent programs on here.

HP/Compaq :: AMD Turion TL-50 & GeForce GO 6150

Jan 1, 2009

I have a Compaq V6310US with the Turion TL-50 (64 X2 1.6 GHz), I have already sent it in for a new systemboard under HP's recall.

I use CPU-Z HWMonitor to monitor temps, here are my average LOAD temps (HL2/Counter-Strike:Source ~1 hour play time) with and without chill mat.

Without Chill Mat:
THRM: 79C
Core 0: 78C
Core 1: 85C
GPU: 98C

With Chill Mat:
THRM: 77C
Core 0: 75C
Core 1: 82C
GPU: 94C

Idle for both is more around ~30/25/35/58.

I get absolutely no signs of overheating during play. Are these acceptable temps or am I going to fry the GPU (or CPU) again in another year?

Especially the temps without the mat? I don't always use it because the temps are pretty similar with and without it anyway. Also, anyone knows what the THRM temp is exactly?

HP/Compaq :: SEVERE Temps With Dv6000 And GeForce 6150

Jun 21, 2009

I was given a dv6113us 2 weeks ago for free since it didn't work. It had the typical no video boot problem. I paid someone on ebay to fix the laptop for me for 80 bucks . Hp said I was out of warranty so they couldn't help me. The guy on eBay told me that he would basically reball and resolder my geforce 6150 chip on there. I sent it in last week, and I just got it back in the mail yesterday and all is working great except for some random freezing at times. The laptop will freeze for a minute every couple of minutes. The hard drive just stops reading out of nowhere, then starts again. Its a brand new hard drive. I was thinking this had to do with heat somewhere in the system.

I downloaded Core Temp and found that the CPU was running pretty cool on both cores.
Around 40c with medium load. Then I downloaded GPU-Z and saw these insane temps! I couldn't believe my eyes! My GPU temps hover around from 97 degrees celsius to 109 degrees celsius.

Before I sent in the laptop I tried taking it apart and was stuck at the top cover. Something was holding it together by the track pad. I almost ripped the cover off but decided to give up and put it back together. Now that I found the post from MrFoo, NOW I know what was holding me back!

HP/Compaq :: NVidia GeForce GT 320M Drivers

Feb 21, 2010

My DV7T Quad has the 320M card in it, but when I pull up the drivers for my system on HP's website, it shows drivers only for the 230M. I assumed that perhaps the 230M drivers would install on a 320M card, however that is not the case.

Is there a reason why there is no 320M drivers on HP's website? I can't imagine NVidia releasing hardware when they have no drivers for it. Right now I'm forced to use drivers that are in the "SwSetup" folder in order to install the drivers for my card...it appears to be some type of generic NVidia driver...which is totally not cool. I called up HP about it and they confirmed there is no 320M driver but had no explanation for it.

Sony :: Nvidia GeForce Go 7400 Drivers For Win 7

Jan 10, 2010

I just upgraded my old Windows XP to Windows 7 and guess what ... there is no drivers for my graphics card provided by SONY. On the sony web site we can find the following information:
"dear user, try Vista graphics drivers. They MAY work."- - I might say that this is really professional... so, the vista graphics drivers for my GeForce doesn`t work. I receive all the time the BSOD.

This is quite a good graphics card so I cannot understand why there is no drivers from Nvidia or Sony... any ideas? Maybe You know where can I find good drivers for my card?

Dell :: Quadro FX 770M With Geforce 9600 GT Drivers

I was wondering if it would be possible to install the drivers for the 9600 GT drivers on the FX 770M. If i'm correct the card is based on the same chip and i was curious if i'd be able to get a better game performance using those drivers.

Are there any real risks in installing the 9600 drivers?

HP/Compaq :: DV9000broken GeForce Go6150

Dec 6, 2009

DV9420us, had been dropped, and as a result a couple keys got lost and it wouldn't turn on anymore. I take a quick look at the machine, lights up but no video and it kept on restarting. "It's gonna cost $50, and another $40 for a new keyboard if it works. It's got about 50% chances to be fixed, if it doesn't work you get your money back." Guy agrees, i leave with the money and the laptop.

I get back home and take it apart. I remove the mobo, remove the cooler and CPU from the mobo, wrap it in aluminum foil leaving only the northbridge/GPU (the 6150 is onboard) and southbridge uncovered, as to protect the other parts from excess heat. Preheated oven to 190C then put board in for 7 minutes. Took board out, let it cool.

In the meantime i was busy cleaning the cooler - serving as "thermal grease" for the CPU was a piece of TINFOIL glued onto the cooler. This is ridiculous, it's a 2.2GHz chip. On the GPU, there's this sh***y thermal pad. No wonder the solder broke even though the chip was epoxied to the board. I applied thermal grease to both CPU and GPU, the crap thermal pad will have to stay however, as i had nothing i could use as shims there.

Put everything back together, and voila, we get video. It still needs some minor work done (besides a new keyboard) such as replacing the touchpad cable as it works erratically, but it's running. Shown running Ubuntu as that's the only bootable disc i found around the house.

HP/Compaq :: Is GeForce 8300m Inlaptop Replacable

Nov 5, 2009

Is it possible to change 8300m wihout changing whole motherboard?

I had some problems with my video card (white screen on boot, not even showing a bios or something), brought my HP Pavillion laptop to service center, they've promised to fix it, but evenually screwed everything up and laptop was restarting immidietly upon boot.

Brought it to other service center, they are telling my that they can fix my laptop by changing moterboard.

if they'll change motherboard, and video card won't be changed - i'll still have a problem, and I'll have to pay again for fixing video card problem...

Just an FYI -- HP has refreshed the Pavilion dv6t and dv7t line with some updates.

First, HP is now providing Intel Core i3 and Core i5 processor options on the standard models only with an optional upgrade to the NVIDIA GeForce GT 320M. (The base config is the Intel HD graphics and then the GeForce G 105M).

HP/Compaq :: Video Performance :Pavilion Dv5t With NVIDIA GeForce 9200M GS

Jan 30, 2009

Dv5t, the problem of having non-optimal /under par performance of Nvidia Graphics accelerator 9200/9600 used with Windows Vista.

I have done some troubleshooting myself, but yet to find a working solution.

My configuration is :

Pavilion Dv5t CTO Notebook.
15.4" diagonal WSXGA+ LCD.
Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo Processor P7350 (2.0GHz)
Current Running Resolution 1680 x 1050.
3GB system RAM.
NVIDIA GeForce 9200M GS with 256 MB of RAM.
Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit.

The degraded performance I am talking about is not specifically for games and 3D applications. Nor is playing games and running 3D rendering my primary purpose. The various benchmarks and tests mentioned at this site maybe more directed towards running specific games and other applications............

I have a Dell Inspiron E1705, Core 2 dou, 2 GB Ram, Very powerful laptop. I have an ATI Video card in it that I've been trying hard to upgrade to a Geforce. I bought 6 till with no luck at all, I bought all of them off ebay, the last one was a couple days ago, when I got it, I installed it and everything was working perfectly, I was so happy cuz this is the first one that actually works, after 1 hour of using it, red flickers started appearing on the screen, I restarted, tried different drivers, tried placing it again.. no luck at all . Now I have different colored lines and blinking pixels all over the screen, the background changes colors.. yellow, red, green.. and its not just on windows.. Bios, safe mode, everywhere.. I put my old ATI back and everything is working fine. I'm planning to send it back again to the seller, I attached some pics. I have a 90 w adapter but I dont think its a heating or power problems.

Dell :: Nvidia GeForce In Studio XPS 16

I am getting a bit bored waiting for the new SXPS 16 (and the free Windows 7 upgrade), thought I would start a new discussion.

How do you guys think about the Nvidia GeForce 9700M, 9800M, 160M or 260M in a Dell Studio XPS laptop?

I like the fact that Nvidia is constantly updating their drivers and I also like the Hybrid Power and Hybrid SLI features. Most importantly, with an Nvidia GPU, I can turn the SXPS into a hackintosh, making it the PERFECT laptop in the market.

Dell :: Flashing Geforce GO 6800

Jul 23, 2007

I've got a Dell Inspiron 9300. Recently, I flashed my vBios and had to do a blind flash. I've got a flash drive with all of the things needed on it, but I'm not so sure about the ROM. It was the only one I could find on the net, and it hasn't worked so far. I left the flash drive in for almost two hours, and it finally did the two beeps. It was on full auto mode and it didn't restart; it just sat there.

I guess I'm begging someone to send me a default bios for a Dell i9300's go 6800 gpu (NV41, according to dell, not sure if it matters).

Also, for clarification, the "backlight" refers to the monitor emitting a glow while still being blank, yes? Because as it is, the monitor doesn't even come on, much less emit any light.

Dell :: M1730 With GEFORCE 8800M SLI Runnig Hot

Mar 19, 2008

I just bought a new Dell M1730 with 4 gigs of ram and the Intel Core 2 X9000 processor.

It has the 8800m SLI video card(s) in it. I installed Everest and it consistently says that the GPU temperature is running around 160 degrees F. I am *not* doing anything other than surfing the web and haven't been. Is this normal? The harddrive and cpu temperatures both seem fine. They are 91F and 90F respectively. Any ideas why the GPU would be so high especially since I'm not really doing anything (playing games for instance) that would push it to it's limits? I did buy a notebook cooler but it isn't here yet. It's sitting on a flat surface with decent airflow.

I'm just a little concerned as I don't want it to burn up.
