HP/Compaq :: Is The 90W Charger Larger Than The 65W

Mar 10, 2009

My DV2000 has a drscrete graphics so it comes with a 90W charger. I didn't notice the 65W charger is smaller by about 30% until comparing one to my friend's.

don't buy the cheap charger sold on ebay. They are VERY badly made. Louder than the laptop and only works intermittetly. I am waiting for the seller to respond for the return process.

Sony :: Can I Replace The SSD Drive On A New Z With A LARGER SSD

Mar 25, 2010

I used to buy the sony Z's a couple of years ago and at the time they only offered slower small drives.

I could replace those with faster 7200RPM drives in larger sizes. Then when they started offering larger drives,

it was still cheaper to buy it with a stock 5400RPM drive and buy a larger 7200RPM drive seperately

HP/Compaq :: Dell Inspiron 6000 Charger For 6710b

Apr 21, 2009

I have a 6710b which just crapped out on me, the power jack died. I assume....that it was because of the charger (universal) that I got with the PC from a friend. I have a charger for my old laptop (Dell Inspiron 6000) and the plug fits into the 6710b, will this work or will it burn out my new 6710b (which is being taken care of via warranty) The specs of the charger are.....:

65W-AC ADAPTER
MODEL: HPOQ065B83 REV A01
INPUT: 100-240V - 50-60Hz 1.5A
OUTPUT: 19.5V---3.34A

Not sure on the power specs of the PC itself, hopefully this is where you guys could help me out. I'm really in a bind here and would like to avoid spending the 75+ dollars HP wants for a new charger. Not to mention, I've heard some bad things about the HP chargers for a while now.

Acer :: 5315 Upgrade Drive Clone To Larger Drive

Oct 2, 2008

I gained a lot of information from the 5315 CPU Upgrade Thread. I'd particularly like to thank BigOzone, Hoggie and Quilty997. There are many others but information from the above formed the basis of my upgrade.

Other information I've collected from other parts in the forum.

The specification of the laptop was as follows.

Acer Aspire 5315
Celeron 550 2.0Ghz (eek)
1gb of Ram
Vista Home Basic (double eek)
Atheros Wireless Card
80Gb Toshiba Hard Disk

The new Specification is.

Core2Duo T7500 2.2Ghz 800 Mhz Front Side Bus 4Mb Cache
3Gb of Crucial Ram
Vista Home Basic (No Choice At the Minute)
Intel 4965 AGN Wireless Card
200Gb Hitachi Hard Disk

The CPU Upgrade I won't actually cover, not necessary when there is a fantastic sticky at the top of this forum. The Upgrade took about 15 minutes, but the actual swap took about 5 minutes or so, I was very anal about cleaning the heatsink and applying AS5. I think the biggest scare was the door unerneath, quite tricky to get off and put back on without damaging the tabs.

My main focus is the hard drive swap, whilst maintaining all the eRecovery software. For this I use Acronis True Image Home, I am aware that the trial can be downloaded or users obtain by other means, can I just say BUY IT as it only cost me 17 from Amazon.co.uk and as usual it was cheaper in the US. The biggest reason for buying is that some features are not available in the trial. I also bought a Laptop SATA External Drive Holder and boy was I glad I did......................

Dell :: New Charger For D630

Jun 1, 2009

I've had my D630 for over 1,5 years now and having grown tired of lugging the 65W PA-12 adapter to work and back, I'm thinking of buying an extra adapter, so the new one would stay stationary at home and the 65W one at work and on the move, if neccesary.

I know a safe bet would be the 90W PA-10 chunky brick but looking ahead (hint E6400), I'm thinking the E-series 90W flat brick would be a better choice. D and E series chargers voltages/amperages match but will the E series one work reliably?
Both choices can be had for the same money

Sony :: Car Charger For Vaio UX

I know it says that it is a Vaio P charger, but I was wondering if it would also work with the UX. The UX wall charger is rated for 16V 2.2A while this is 10.5V 1.9A. IMO it should work okay since the current does not exceed what the wall charger supplies. Am I correct in making this assumption?

The original part number is VGP-AC19V28 and Iv been offered a VGP-AC19V14. What is the difference? What does the V number mean? I ca only find VGP-AC19V30 and VGP-AC19V31 on the sony website and there is no compatability chart I can find, and I certainly dont want to buy one thats not going to work on my computer.

Dell :: Use 130w Charger On 90w Laptop?

May 8, 2009

I have a Dell Latitude E6400 which uses Dell's 90w Charger PA-10 which is a 90w 4.62A and 19.5V.

I have been looking for a second power supply, but before I drop the money on a new one. I also have an old Inspiron which uses a the 130w Dell Charger, it is a 6.7A power supply, and the same 19.5V as my Latitude Charger.

Could I use this charger with my Latitude without causing damage? I am just a little concerned about the Amperage being higher than my current charger.

Dell :: Power And Charger Problem

If I remove the charger, the laptop boot up without problem, but when I connect it back again it will stop imediately.

The LED on the charger stays on green steadily, so I suppose it's a problem on the motherboard. Removing the battery and using another AC charger didn't help neither.

Acer :: 5920G AC Charger Compatibility

May 24, 2009

Recently, my adapter just stopped working. I went to my local computer service shop, they said that there is a cut in my cable.

So I asked them is there any replacement for it, and they showed me this charger where the Output is 19V, 3.4A (Inputs are similar).

On the back of my laptop, it says the Input is 19V, 4.74A. (I'm sure you guys are too).

So out of my curiosity, will the charger they offered me be compatible with my laptop? As I don't want my laptop to be damaged due to wrong charger.

Dell XPS 14Z :: Red Blinking Charger Light - Win 7

Jan 8, 2015

About three weeks ago, I came in to the machine to begin my day.  The machine had been plugged and charging through the night, status=Hibernated.  This is my common practice.  I immediately noted the Charger light on the hinge was blinking alternately white then three or four quick red blinks rather than the usual steady white when the charger is plugged in.

I interpreted it as some sort of alarm; but after an exhaustive look, running diagnostics, searching DELL website and viewing the User manuals, I cannot find an answer.

· I checked the Windows 7 battery app and the DELL Battery Meter and “Battery Health” showed the battery to be performing normally.
· I went to DELL support and ran the battery diagnostics which were OK.
· The problem is seen always several hours of charging with no activity; and it is intermittent.  It has happened several times since the first time.  It happened again this morning.
· I made the assumption that the red light was a warning and the battery was failing or in trouble – no.
· Then I thought it might be due to overcharging.  If so, shouldn’t the problem be every time I leave it on overnight?
· Note my solution: If I unplug the machine and go on battery power when the red light is blinking and do work on the machine, when the battery goes down 10% or so, the red blinking light stops.
· My machine is otherwise working well.

My Dell XPS M1530 just shut down on me. When I plug the charger into the laptop, the green light on the charger turns off, just like it wasn't plugged into the wall outlet.

I tried a second charger, and the light on that one just blinks in rapid succession. I've tried booting it up without the battery and with a replacement battery with the same results.

So now my laptop can't start up and I'm not sure what's going on.
