I can FINALLY overclock my 8400M GS! Ever since after 169.04, all the drivers would go back to default clocks as soon as I hit Apply in any program I tried, but not anymore!

I've got a HP Pavilion dv6000z notebook. It came pre-installed with Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit but, I recently changed the OS to Windows XP Home Edition SP3 32-bit. It was a completely new installation of the OS.
Now, I've got a weird problem. I watch the NBA games on this website for international viewers at ilp.nba.com and it goes through an external company named RayV. They provide their own software to watch the games on, I believe it is a p2p kind-a program [if that helps?]; RayV Viewer. In this, the broadcasted video size is 608x336 or something like that and averages about 800k-1000k speed/bandwidth?. They call it the "HD" version.
The problem is, the video continuously "stutters" every 4-7 seconds.
My room mate has the newer dv5t series notebook with an intel core 2 duo 2.0ghz processor nd an intel integrated graphics adapter [x3100/4500?] nd the video works absolutely perfectly on his notebook. Same goes for my friends Apple Macbook [old "lower spec'd" white version] however with mine it has this continuous stuttering problem. I've tried increasing the process priority through task manager but that didn't help either.
Most HD videos work fine in WMP [.mkv 720p] though they stutter every now nd then too.
Like about every 10 - 13 minutes, maybe a little bigger gap but it happens nonetheless.
I've tried the 182.08 drivers from laptopvideo2go.com & the DOX 182.46 version as well as the 86.38 version from windows update but none of them have been able to solve it. Any ideas as to what I could try?
I'm currently downloading the beta of Windows 7 to see how that works on this notebook, I believe the RC is just about to be released & is on some sites so could give that a shot but would love to solve it in XP itself.

Are these safe to install on my DV7T? I notice HP has never issued an official graphics driver update for this notebook. The one and only version from them is from November 2008.
The release highlights has me salivating - particularly the bit about a 45% increase in Mirror's Edge with antialiasing enabled. Since there are about 7 months of driver updates in this release I should see some big improvements in my games.

My DV7T Quad has the 320M card in it, but when I pull up the drivers for my system on HP's website, it shows drivers only for the 230M. I assumed that perhaps the 230M drivers would install on a 320M card, however that is not the case.
Is there a reason why there is no 320M drivers on HP's website? I can't imagine NVidia releasing hardware when they have no drivers for it. Right now I'm forced to use drivers that are in the "SwSetup" folder in order to install the drivers for my card...it appears to be some type of generic NVidia driver...which is totally not cool. I called up HP about it and they confirmed there is no 320M driver but had no explanation for it.

I recently got a Dell Precision M4300 from a friend and had a few questions.
When i got the laptop, I reformatted the Laptop and Reinstalled Windows XP Pro SP2. I proceeded from Microsoft to Update to SP3 and so on.
Well I also Went to Dell's Website and downloaded all the necessary drivers (using the service tag) for this laptop and installed them.
Now here is where I ran into a problem,
When I installed the NVIDIA drivers for the NVidia Quadro FX 360M video card, everything seemed to go fine. Then I rebooted the Laptop, and now every time I reboot, my hardware acceleration is defaulted back to None, and it gives me multiple pop ups about this issue. I go into the settings and turn the Acceleration back to full and it goes away.
This is a major problem, and is really frustrating to deal with everytime the laptop is booted up.
My other problem, is when I open up Internet Explorer, It tends to lock up the browser for no reason when Loading a website. I then CTRL+ALT+DEL and attempt to close iexplore.exe via the task manager. It closes the browser but does not shut down the browser, making it impossible to browse, so then I have to reboot.
here are the specs of the PC, from the device manager and drivers I have gotten
Dell Precision M4300
NVidia Quadro FX 360M 512mb Video Graphics Card
TSST 8x dvd+-R burner
120GB Hard Drive
3.5GB of Ram
2.5GHZ T9300 Core 2 Duo Processor
1394 Port
2 USB ports
External Monitor Ports
Wifi Support
Bluetooth Support
Windows XP SP2 Pro

I installed the latest Nvidia drivers (179.48), Since I then when the video turns off the laptop does not respond any more and I have a black screen. I uninstalled the drivers and I reinstalled the original HP (179.04) and I still have the same issue.
I uninstalled the latest video drivers using the control panel.

Does anyone know if Dell modifies the video card drivers that they post on the driver download website specifically for their machines?
Or do they just download the latest drivers from the Nvidia webiste test on a particular machine for a little while and either pass or fail the driver for official use?

I have some issues with my video since I upgrade the nvidia drivers from the nvidia web site. I removed the drivers and I reinstalled the original ones with the same results.
Does the Windows drivers upgrade also upgrades the video firmware as well?

Does anyone know which is the latest driver (working ) for 8600 GT. I'd really like to update. I tried 181.20 and 22. In unmodified ini "setup could not find any compatible hardware". In modified ini dll files were missing.
And also another thing. All the time when i play games the laptop just shutsdown like it didnt had a power but its on AC. when it boots no errors shows. Maybe i'll try the 179.28 to see. In Vista this never happened!

Apparently nVidia has decided to come out with Notebook drivers, and here is the first release out.
[url]
Quote:
Before downloading this driver:
1. Please check to make sure that your notebook has a supported GPU and is not listed in the exclusion list (refer to the Products Supported tab below).
2. It is recommended that you backup your current system configuration. Click here for instructions.
3. If you own a Dell Inspiron 1420, Dell XPS M1330, or Dell XPS M1530 it is highly recommended that you first install this Dell software update.
The above software update refers to the A12 BIOS released on November 23 from _Dell.

Does anyone know how to prevent the NVidia drivers from disappearing?
I just installed 32bit vista and installed the drivers. Shortly afterwards, they disappeared and only the standard vga adapter was listed. I tried uninstalling and then reinstalling the drivers again.
Again, the 160M was listed correctly. I then installed PowerDVD which wouldn't play. I went back to the adapter and it had reverted back to Standard VGA

i have the 174.51 drivers from acer for my 9500m gs and i was wondering if i should update them to the 186.03 from nvidia. I heard that the ones from acer have some optimizations for the hdmi port and if i connect the cable everything will work great on the tv ( sound , image, everything). Should i get the new ones or stick with the old ones ?

I noticed, that the original NVidia graphics drivers do not work with Sony notebooks.
So, does Sony offer new versions of their drivers on a regulary basis? Or is it somehow possible to use original NVidia drivers?

I just upgraded my drivers to the 185.20s and am very impressed. You no longer have to restart to switch SLI modes and the drivers automatically clock down to 2D modes on the desktop so the card temps are waaay cooler now. Performance is spectacular as well as colors in games.

I've had a Latitude E6400 almost since it came out, so I've been dutifullly upgrading drivers as they've worked the bugs out. I'd like to keep up with the video drivers,
but I've noticed that the latest drivers for the Nvidia 160M are noticeably slower in Vista, particularly in window minimize/restore operations, than the original driver.
This is confirmed by my Windows Experience Index dropping from 3.5 to 3.3 on the aero video score. Has anybody else noticed this problem, or is it just my laptop? Anybody think of a solution? I've tried using the latest driver from the Nvidia site instead of the Dell driver, but the result is the same.

I have one problem, and maybe someone stuck on this problem too...
Windows problem report suggested to update video drivers, so from nvidia website i found new drivers (version 185.85).
Everything updated well, but then I tried to connect to LCD TV through HDMI i run into the problem:
the was no sound. I've changed to HDMI output in control panel (usually that way sound was working) and still cannot hear anything. Strange that with old drivers i was able to configure HDMI sound, but with new drivers this function is disabled. Rolled back and sound started to work.

I just upgraded my old Windows XP to Windows 7 and guess what ... there is no drivers for my graphics card provided by SONY. On the sony web site we can find the following information:
"dear user, try Vista graphics drivers. They MAY work."- - I might say that this is really professional... so, the vista graphics drivers for my GeForce doesn`t work. I receive all the time the BSOD.
This is quite a good graphics card so I cannot understand why there is no drivers from Nvidia or Sony... any ideas? Maybe You know where can I find good drivers for my card?

I present you a driver shootout, a test of 30 nVIDIA drivers, on a Dell Inspiron 1520 configuration, an iMAC and an Acer Aspire 6920G. First part, the one who handles the Windows XP drivers testing is over and published. The chart is composed in 2 parts, one with the results (points for 3DMarks and fps for Crysis games) and one with the information about it. When was launched, if it has WHQL, PhysX and PhysX driver included, CUDA support, GPGPU folding client, Issues, New Features, Original Products supported (if you have a desktop board and you want to keep the WHQL status active)... and a whole article about what does ForceWare means.
The article is in romanian, but the datas are in english, so everyone could understand (if there are enough request, I will translate it all in english). Anyway, have a good time on my website and be sure to visit it from time to time, the charts get updated every time a new driver will be released (and we will also include older models too).

problem with my nvidia drivers.
Laptop:Acer 6920g, Nvidia 9500M GS, Vista 32-bit
Problem:
Whenever I upgrade to the latest NVIDIA version drivers on laptopvideo2go, I have a problem with my screen brightness and vista power plan.
Currently I have the nvidia driver 8.17.11.9581 installed (195.81).
If I unistall any other higher version driver from acer's default driver than the power plan and screen brightness work, however if I use the latest driver then the problem happens.

Has anyone installed Windows 7 x 64 on your VGN-z540 laptop? I tried nvidia's web site, guru3d, sony etc. but I can't can't find drivers that Windows 7 will accept on my 540 laptop. Every other piece of hardware works including the intel video it natively detected. I can't seem to get it to recognize the nvidia driver. The driver won't install from setup. I can manually try to force it by selecting the device, update drivers, select manually but it says it wasn't the right driver even though it is the 64 bit driver for nvidia and it has the 9300m GS listed many many times in the list.

My question:
What i have;
I have, as the title sais, a Vaio VPCZ11Z9E with the hybrid graphic system. The drivers i use are the latest ones published by Sony.
The problem;
When i have my computer on stamina mode ie. not using the nvidia geforce card and i right click my desktop to reach the meny for personalize, create new folders etc the meny shows up instantly, no delay at all.
When i have the switch to speed, using my nvidia geforce card(which always use while at work and plugged in) the right click on desktop has delay/lag to show the meny, the windows 7 thinking animation shows up, for up to 3 seconds before it actually pops up.
My conclusion is of course, that it has to do withe nevidia card/drivers.
Are there any solution to this? Does anyone else have the problem? Should i do a total reset with the recovery tool?

I have a base UMP and I went through the basic steps of upgrading video drivers - uninstall, reboot, install new...
However, when I did this process, the install portion would barf. It would say something like "can't find hardware" or "not the right driver"... something along those lines.
Should I just install the latest from NVIDIA without uninstalling first?
