I had to recover my DV6T-7000 due to performance issues and now I cannot find MS Office starter software which came with the laptop. How I can download or recover this software which does not appear anywhere within my files thta I am able to uncover.I actually performed a restore and not a recover and now no longer find the MS Starter program. My computer is PN A3E87AV.

When I diagnose my laptop, I got Hard Drive Short DST Failure . I have called HP service center and they were telling to replace the hard drive.
But I have some many important files and documents in my laptop. is it possible to recover my files using some method?

This is an Aspire 4530 running Vista.
The trial version expired and I wanted to uninstall it and install my own copy of Office 2003. But if course it would not uninstall - probably because I wasn't the real "Administrator" at the time. I followed the MS guide for forceably uninstalling and deleting the product, but that failed also.
The only recourse seems to be to re-install it from the 3 factory backup DVDs that I made when I got the laptop. But I have a feeling that all I can do is recover (overwrite) the C drive from the recovery DVDs - either all or nothing. Is that correct?
I have an HP Pavilion dv6t-7000 Â equpped with the Ralink RT5390R Wi-Fi Adapter. Â For the life of me, I cannot get it to connect to my home network when set up as 802.11n. Â Other devices do connect. If I change my router to 802.11g, but change no other settings at all, the HP doe connect. But if I flip the router back to 802.11n, the HP sees the network and correctly identifies it as an 802.11n network, but will not connect.The Router is a D-Link DIR-615 (N300 2.4ghz).

I have ordered a Macbook Pro, but am totally stumped as to what I should do for an Office suite. If it helps, I can use Office 2007 like a pro and I love it!
I use Office:Mac 2008, and I'm not a fan. But it's better than OpenOffice/NeoOffice (imo), and while I like a lot about iWork, the occasional small incompatibility -- and the fact that saving as .docx as default is troublesome -- is irritating.
For those of you who have been Mac users since Office '08 was released, I'm just curious as to whether there's a reason to expect that we might see a public beta put out by Microsoft in the coming few months -- long before this Fall/Winter 2010 release or whenever it's supposed to be -- so we can get cracking on that.

Now I wanted to install windows 7 starter but impossible. He says he can not because the BIOS might not be compatible with the operating system and then tells me that if I want to load drivers. I'm a little desperate. I changed in the BIOS mode IDE hard drive to AHCI and vice versa. If I put IDE and try to install windows 7 does not recognize the disk (I have to put in AHCI).

The message I get is:You can not install windows on this HDD. It is possible that the hardware of this equipment is not capable of booting to this disk. Ensure that the disk's controller is enabled in the computer's BIOS menu. Another warning he gives is:The installation program can not create a new system partition or locate an existing one. There are NO programs installed outside of the Factory Programs except for MS Security Essentials, and Maliwarebytes.

That said, it is VERY SLOW and sometimes UNRESPONSIVE to keyboard commands. I know this isn't a high level PC, but is there anything I can do to speed it up so we can search eBay, Facebook and other sites. No hard computing is needed, just basic simple functions. It's just to slow now and basically no one will use it.
My Word Starter 2010 on my HP mini 210-2000 will not open. The program just stopped working today. How do I get it to start working again? The Click-to-Run Application Manager message says: " Microsoft Word Starter 2010 cannot be opened. Try again or repair the product in Control Panel." I cannot find a way to fix the problem in the Control Panel. How do I fix this problem? I use the program a lot for grading student essays.

When selecting the repair windows option it loads windows files, but eventually comes back to the same screen. When I hit F8 for advanced boot options, none of the options, safe mode, safe mode with command prompt, last know good configuration, etc. do no workl. They will go through a progression but end up back to the winows could not properly start page. Dell sent me Windows 7 Starter usb installation and the resource discs. I love my Acer but want to back it up and restore it to factory settings. I've been using it for over 2 years so it's full of stuff by now and I'd like to start fresh.
I have a Dell Inspiron N7110Â and one day I try to open Word and Excel 2010 starter , and they both won't work. I do have an older version of both and they work just fine.Â
The error message I get is the following: That I either try again or repair from the control panel ( not entirely sure how to do that).

So my teacher is thinking of buying a MacBook Pro, and asked me to find some stuff out for him
He wants to know if there are programs for Mac that can deal with .doc(x) files, as well as him being able to save new documents in .doc format, so that they can work with the windows pc he has in his class?
I told him that Office is available for Mac, so he also wants to know if a Full applications suite comes pre installed on a new MacBook Pro, or if only trial versions are available.
I'm truly torn as to whether I should get iWork '09 or Office '08 for my new Mac.
I use Excel for work and all of my older documents are Word documents from my PC. However, I don't do too much work out of my office, so I don't know which is the proper route to go. It would be nice to do whatever I needed to for work on my Mac.
With that said, I'd love some solid arguments as to why one is better than the other, or maybe they're the same. Who knows? The reviews are so mixed.
I think MS Office 2008 for Mac is a step back. I use particularly excel at university and there are a lot of utilities missing in this version (data analysis), despite all this functions were included in the old 2003 version for windows. I've read a lot of threads in this and other forums trying to find how to solve the mess. The solutions can be summarized in: 1. Use other program (iworks, open office, neo office..., but none of those programs have what I need: a power tool of data analysis and 100% compatibility with MS Office). 2. Install XP or Vista in my new MacBook Pro.
My question is, does anyone know if there will be a new version of MS Office for Mac soon?
(If the answer is yes, I won`t make any move, otherwise I`ll have to think of installing XP or Vista, bad thing for me, after three weeks I`m getting the hang of the OS X and I`m very happy with it).
I own a copy of 2007 office professional. I took it off my laptop and tried to put it on my desktop. I remember activating the software on my laptop and thought if I uninstall it on the control panel (add remove programs) I can just install it on my desktop. When I tried installing it on my desktop it tells me that the code is already been activated and gives me 30 chances to use it. How do I deactivate it and activate it on my desktop?
I own legit copy of Office 2007 Professional as I already activated it on my laptop. If need be I can take pictures of the cd's itself.

I got the XPS M1530, 2.4 GHz, 4 GB RAM, 64 bit Vista & Blu-ray writeable. Also got Office, but the version is 2007.
Is that the latest available? Seems odd to buy a new high end computer & get old software.
Also, they have the hard drive partitioned into C: & D: The D: drive is called RECOVERY & uses ~8GB. I couldn't find where this is described anywhere. Sounds important.
I was having problems with Office 2007, so I tried to Uninstall so I could reinstall and hopefully solve the problem. In the middle of the uninstall, the installer stopped responding, so I had to close it.
Now, when I try to uninstall, the computer says that it does not support the language of the installation package.
