HP Dv7-2124TX OS/Software :: WLAN Is Disabled By The Device Manager And Not Able To Turn It On
Dec 27, 2013
the WLAN was disabled by the device manager, and i can't turn it on
Â
when i get into the device manger, a ! sign was shown beside Intel(R) WiFi Link 5100 AGN, and i click properties, the device status shows the below message:
Â
"This device cannot start. (Code 10) Click 'Check for solutions' to send data about this device to Microsoft and to see if there is a solution available."
Â
when i click "check for solutions", it shows "could not load driver software" and no solution appears
Â
i tried the "update driver" function and still no clue to it.
Â
the product no. of my dv7 is VQ971PA#AB5. Model no. is dv7-2124TX
The laptop is HP Pavilion G4 running Windows 7 Ultimate (64-bit). Â I just re-install my laptop from Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit) to Windows 7 Ultimate (64-bit). But i just realized that there's no 'HP Connection Manager', so i downloaded it from internet.
When i turned on the wifi from 'HP Connection Manager', it said "Wi-Fi (Wireless LAN) is Disabled by Device Manager". What should i do then?
I've bought a B590 and installed a Win 7 64bit. I have installed all available drivers from the support page and have the following issue: Â Device Manager: I see 2 graphics devices Intel HD Graphics NVIDIA GeForce GT 720M
The discrete card is disabled with error code 43 and has an exclamation mark near it [URL] .... Moreover, if i start the NVidia Control Panel it gives me an error with text: "current display is not connected to nvidia GP" GeFoerce Experience is not starting with a back-end error [URL] ...  Now here are the ways i tried to use but it did not work: 1. Enable high performance and update with manually downloaded nvidia driver 2. Do the same with HDMI cble connected to a plasma 3. Disable enable the device (screen goes black, than to normal and everything stays the same) 4. Format c: reinstall Win8.1 64 and install all drivers - same thing 5. Format c: reinstall Win7 64  and install the graphics drivers after everything else (h1d9d9.exe h2d903.exe) 6. Update GT720M drivers  from device manager  (driver is up to date) 7. Run a high-performance 3D game (War Thunder)  - it uses Intel HD  What else can i do? I saw people with switchable graphics use some kind of application to specify the game-apps that should use a discrete videocard. I don't have such an app to specify my games.
I had recently installed Windows 7 again on my Hard Drive and then i downloaded all the drivers for my Laptop from HP website. My Laptop pc is HP Pavilion DV6 -2155dx Entertainment. I have installed all the drivers but while installing Realtek Ethernert Controller Driver I found an error it was stating that " The Realtek Network Controller was not found. If Deep Sleep Mode is Enabled Please Plug the Cable". And also while installing Atheros Drivers I found this error " The Device may not be present or could have been ejected / unplugged from the system.
Insert or Reinsert Now" I have also installed HP Wireless Assistant After installation and Rebooting The wireless assistant shows that wifi is disabled (orange light on the keyboard) but when i try to enable it, it doesnt turn blue but it states that Wireless Adapter is disabled by Device Manager. I also have checked the boot menu or bios and found that for wifi it was already enabled. In Device Manager i can find the device with yellow colored signal. I am not able to understand what exactly the error is as in Device manager it is showing the device and while installing the drivers it is showing it is ejected / unplugged".Â
I'm using the W540 with an ultradock and external monitors. After upgrading my W540 to win8.1 64 bit, device manager is showing an unknown device. I'm not quite sure what it is, but almost everything seems to be working fine and Lenovo solution center isn't finding any driver updates.  I did notice that the solution center hardware scan did not test the video card memory and listed that test as N/A. Video and monitors seem to be working fine though and both nvidia and intel graphics show up in device manager.  Device manager lists the device in question as follows: Device instance path: ROOTSYSTEM001 Hardware Ids: rootiwdbus Device stack: DriverPnPManager
I have just installed Windows 8.1 x64Â on my Lenovo E330.
I downloaded drivers from the website, and installed all of them. But after that there's one device listed as Unknown in device manager, and I can't figure our which device it is.
Hardware ID is {48126E0D-4BDD-4D26-8A24-569C7AB522D6}SettingsDriver, so that doesn't identify the device.
I got my new laptop today, and got rid of the installed Dell Crap and installed my Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit.
Now under my Device Manager I've got two issues:
Base System Base System
I contacted Dell, they said they won't support my laptop since I don't have their operating system on it. All I want to know is what drivers I need. I can't believe they couldn't let me know.
I just bought a B590, model 20208, with, i3-3110m, 500GB HDD, GeForce 720M.I installed Win 7 64bits, but in Device Manager, before installing all the drivers appeared Other Devices an Unknown Device with thise details: code 28, Device type: Other devices; Location: on Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Embedded Controllert . After installing drivers, the problem persists.Another problem was with PCI express but resolved with Intel Management Engine Interface drivers.Other problem resolved was with the GeForce 720 M videocard; wasn't recognized but resolved with the last driver from GeForce site. the last problem remained it's The Unknown Devices.
I have been trying to install atheros communication inc wifi drivers but in network manager cant find the adapter  Below is my hardware info  PCIVEN_168C&DEV_0036&SUBSYS_18E3103C&REV_01PCIVEN_168C&DEV_0036& SUBSYS_18E3103CPCIVEN_168C&DEV_0036&CC_028000PCIVEN_168C&DEV_0036&CC_0280  Link to download from i have tried drivers on this site but in device manager its still unknown device
I just reinstalled windows 7 on my edge 13 (cause the system really slowed down), everything's working so far, expect the WLan Device. The network adapter (realtek RTL8168D/Familie-PCI-E-Gigabit-Ethernet-NIC) is properly detected, if i plug in a Lan cable I have got a connection.
I already tried this Lenovo Update tool, it installed some drivers and updates, but still no change. I already tried all Wifi drivers from lenovo homepage without success. Hitting the F9 Button didn't change a thing.
Laptop: Sony Vaio TZ31VN Integrated Globetrotter HSDPA Wireless WAN, Bluetooth and Intel 4965AGN Wireless LAN, Windows XP SP3 (Official Sony XP Downgrade Build)
This one really has me stumped - I'd appreciate any suggestions!
In summary, I have a problem with my Sony VAIO TZ31 wherein I'm unable to use my WiFi. The Wireless Device Switcher utility (C:Program FilesSonyWireless Switch Setting UtilitySwitcher.exe version 4.0) no longer 'sees' my integrated WLAN card to give me the option of turning it on or off, however it does see both the Bluetooth and WWAN cards. The hardware switch on the front of the laptop is in the 'ON' position, and the Bluetooth and WWAN lights are illuminated, however the WLAN light isn't, and I can find no way of enabling it. The Bluetooth and WWAN are still working.
My problem determination so far:
The normal Windows Wireless Network Connection dialogue tells me immediately (i.e. doesn't seem to scan at all) that it can't find any networks and that I should check that my wireless is turned on. I have another several devices in the house that are seeing the network just fine, as does my iPhone right next to this laptop.
Running an `IPCONFIG ALL` from the command line suggests that it is physically still there:
Checking in Windows Device Manager the `Intel(R) Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN' entry appears with no question marks or exclamation marks telling me there's a problem or that the device is disabled. Opening up the properties dialogue for this, the drop down box on the Advanced tab says 'Wireless On'. All other properties are on the default values....
Wireless won't turn on; wired connection is fine. HP Wireless Asst says the wireless is turned of by the keyboard. Light is steady orange & will not turn on.
If I power down & remove the battery, I can get a blue light when I turn the PC back on. But then, the PC wants to update the driver. When it does that, the problem returns.
I have uninstalled Windows 8 and installed Windows 7 64bit Pro on my new Lenovo Ideapad u410. I managed to get all the drivers working... EXCEPT ONE: The WLAN. Â Now here's what I did and what happens every time I try to install the WLAN driver:
I have downloaded the driver "WiFi Link Driver (Intel, CyberTan, Liteon) for Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit, 64-bit)" from the page [URL] ... multiple times and tried installing it multiple times. The installation process works until the status "Search the target device in this machine" shows up. As soon as this status shows up, the installation exits without an error message or anything else. How to get it working. I can't even use this machine without WLAN. Â By the way: - LAN works fine - It's not a hardware issue as the WiFi worked fine on the preinstalled Win8 - The WiFi won't even show up under Windows - I have not installed "Intel WiMax Driver for Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit, 64-bit)" driver as I am told that this is not used. - Of course I am running the .exe as Administrator - I tried installing Win7 on UEFI before.
I have an FW490, and noticed when looking at the device manager that under Portable Devices that there was a problem. There is a warning beside something called "R5C592". When I checked under properties it says Device type: Portable Device, Manufacturer: Ricoh, Location: on UMBus Enumerator.
Under device status it says: "Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19) Click 'Check for solutions' to send data about this device to Microsoft and to see if there is a solution available."
I checked for solutions and couldn't find anything. My PC seems to be running fine. Is it possible that it could be that I used a USB key that is causing this problem?
Intel dual band Wireless-N 7260 model 7260HMW AN. Bluetooth does not appear in device manager. Proper soft drivers required for Windows 8.1. Tried uninstalling and re-installing === latest drivers installed. WIFI is always working. OS Windows 8.1 x64 enterprise.
i bought a acer laptop @ bestbuy and it came with preinstall vista home. i used the computer fine and all and the internet connects to my router find and was surfing the internet. i then decided to install a fresh copy of my own vista ultimate because i dont like the preinstall stuff that they did because it just clutters up space. after i finish my install of vista ultimate, my laptop doesn't connect to the internet. i know this is simply but i dont see network adapters under the device manager in the computer management screen. i am worried because if i have to install the driver, then i would see some icons with a yellow exclamation mark, but i dont see NETWORK ADAPTERS AT ALL. i dont know how to solve this? any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks all. i've tried to press scan for new hardware changes but still i dont see the network adpaters. i thought if you install vista ultimate, then it will install the wireless drivers for you too.
I currently have an Acer Extensa 5620z-4801. About a month ago, I started using my laptop to burn DVDs. The DVD burner worked just fine for the first 2 DVDs. I used Ashampoo. After those 2 DVDs, it stopped working. I checked on My Computer, and the DVD drive wasn't there. At first I thought it was just temporary, so I restarted my laptop. But then after that, it's still not there, and I freaked out. I checked my device manager to find it, but it vanished from device manager also. I tried to google to find a solution, but doesn't help. I tried that regedit method, but I couldn't find neither upperfilter nor the lowerfilter or whatsoever. I tried removing prime and secondary IDE and reinstall, but doesn't help.
I noticed today that Device manager lists a different CPU to the one in my laptop in the 'System devices' section. Â My laptop is a HP DV7-6052ea with I7-2630QM (Socket 988b) Â Device manager shows the correct details under 'Processor', listing the I7-2630QM (8 times). Â Under 'System devices' it has this line: Xeon E3-1200/2nd Generation Intel(R) Core(TM) Processor Family PCI Express Root Port - 0101 Â I can't see any details for the 2630QM in the 'System devices' section. Â Device manager says all drivers are up to date; I7-2630QM - 6.1.7600.16385Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â 21/06/2006 Xeon E3-1200 - 9.2.0.1026Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â 10/03/2011 Â CPU-Z correctly lists the I-7 2630QM and I haven't noticed any problems with my system (apart from some songs skipping a bit)Â so is this something that is likely to cause problems or OK?
I have a Seagate 1TB hard drive connected via USB as a backup (Memeo-backup software) to my HP Probook 470 G2 (Windows 7 Pro). The Device Access Manager asks me to authenticate myself every 15 min (approx). This is very annoying. Is the solution to uninstall the DAM s/w and what will the consequences be? Or how to get around the Device Access Manager? Â
Recently, my CD Drive failed to read CD's. So, I removed the drive and took the model number off of it and searched the internet for a new drive (since Dell does not sell them). I bought it, received it and installed. It turns on, opens up and the light is on.
Now, I want to reformat my computer but the system is not reading the drive even though it appears to be on. It does not show up in Device Manager, and when I go to the Boot Menu it tells my that it cannot read the device in the modular drive. Yes, the module drive is enabled in Bios.
Is there anything I can do to remedy this or am I forced to send my laptop back to Dell again for repairs (Because that is getting old, and if that is the case then it just going to become a brick to me).
I am trying to connect bluetooth earphones to my HP-Pavilion-dv7-6b32us Notebook. I have two different models that I am trying to connect to my notebook: Nextware Sonic and Jarv earphones, both via bluetooth.  I've tried "Add a Device" through the control panel, but the devices don't pair or show up.  I can't find Bluetooth in the device manager.  Are there any drivers I can download or software on the computer I can activate to solve this, or do I need to buy a bluetooth dongle?
I've got HP client security V 8.3.4.1811 pre installed on my new ProBook 450 G2. However when I try to access the "Device Access Manager" the program crashes and show this error:  "at HP.ProtectTools.DeviceAccessManager.BaseViewModel.Load()  at HP.ProtectTools.DeviceAccessManager.UserPage.OnLoaded(Object sender, RoutedEventArgs e)  at System.Windows.RoutedEventHandlerInfo.InvokeHandler(Object target, RoutedEventArgs routedEventArgs)  at System.Windows.EventRoute.InvokeHandlersImpl(Object source, RoutedEventArgs args, Boolean reRaised)  at [code]...
I installed a new hard drive on my Niece's laptop Inspiron 14Z (N441Z) and did a clean install of Win 7 Home Premium. I installed the Chipset drivers first and then started on the list displayed in the support area for this machine. After completing all of the drivers install, my device manager looked like this:
The Unknown Device shows an ID USBUnknown. This machine has 1-USB2 and 2-USB3 ports. If I run the Dell Diagnostics it shows that I have 1-1.1 USB ports, and 2-USB2 ports. The 1.1 port appears to works since it will recognize flash drives etc. This is also true of the of USB2 ports. The other USB2 does not recognize anything except my Samsung Galaxy 4 phone. But when it is unplugged I get a balloon on the task bar that says a USB device is not recognized. This will also occur when I first boot up the machine. It is like the machine is not recognizing the USB ports  If I run any of the hardware troubleshooters that Microsoft has it tells me that a driver is missing but when it tries and install, it reports that it fails. I have undated my bios, all drivers, I have uninstalled drivers and then rebooted with no luck.Â
I installed windows 7 on my new Hp 450 g1, and everything works fine except the wifi. When i open the hp connection manager it says that wifi is disabled by Device Manager. Â IÂ tried all the drivers from hp's site and none of them work. Â When i open the Device Manager it shows me that it has found under the name "Other Devices" the Network Controller but there is a little triangle on it and does not let me to install any driver that i found on hp website.
my Dv2418 has struck again......my webcam now disapeared.... I tried to do a system restore but for some reason, non are avaiable. Heres the catch tho.
On my vista partition the webcam cannot be found and there is no trace of it.
The integrated webcam on my E4310 is not being recognised anywhere. This is a topic which already has several previous discussions, but without any solution for me. The webcam doesn't appear in device manager:
and is not recognised on skype, or the Dell Webcam Central. When put through the Dell diagnostics test it says no camera is installed. Is it possible that there is no webcam on this laptop and what I see above the screen is something else?
I've had my Dell L701X for over two years now and I've had some trouble with the wireless adapter before, particularly within the last 6 months.Â
Recently, the wireless adapter has been disappearing from the device manager and I have had to resort to a wired connection. The adapter has been disappearing completely from the device manager and I am not sure why. I have tried reinstalling the Intel drivers for the wireless card but that hasn't solved the problem.
The components list for my laptop on the Dell website under components says I have the Intel WiFi Link 6200 (802.11a/g/n) Half Mini-card. Also if I use the wireless hardware switch it seems to be turning the Bluetooth connection on and off in the network adapters.
Currently running Windows 8 but have also had the problem while running Windows 7.
