Wireless won't turn on; wired connection is fine. HP Wireless Asst says the wireless is turned of by the keyboard. Light is steady orange & will not turn on.
If I power down & remove the battery, I can get a blue light when I turn the PC back on. But then, the PC wants to update the driver. When it does that, the problem returns.
I recently installed windows 7 64 bit on my new HP pavilion p045tx  notebook but there are no drivers for the inbuilt broadcom wifi adapter which was working fine in windows 8.1 , so there is any way to get the drivers as it is not available on the product support page.

the wlan adapter is BCM43142 802.11 b/g/n.(according to windows 8.1 driver details)
I just bought "HP Pavilion 15 Notebook PC p000su-j2t31ea", installed windows 8.1, downloaded drivers and it seems like it works perfectly but wifi.
When I tried to install this Broadcom WLAN driver [URL]... its loading like on the half way on its instalation and drops then a message appears and asks me if the program worked well.
Ive tried to install that driver under Safe Mode and it loaded the installation, but when it was installing some error came out saying that the installation cant continue, because update.cpp 1205 is not found or something.I also tried to find the driver from broadcom's site, but couldnt find it. And now i can use e-net only via cable.
I downgraded my operating system to windows 7 from Windows 8 on HP Pavilion 17-f012na and wireless network disapeared. Checked for latest drivers nothing available. Then manually looked at HP drivers and support section no drivers available either. What is solution is find correct driver. By the way bluetooth is working.

I have had this laptop for a few months now but have never really had to use WiFi - now I need WiFi I find the laptop will not connect to my router, it also displays no WiFi networks. I have opened Device Manager/Network Adapters and the wireless adapter is apparently up to date and working correctly. The adapter is a Realtek RTL8188EE 802.11b/g/n Wi Fi Adapter. The laptop is just a few paces away from the router so should easily receive the signal, my Android shows the router signal strength at 100% with a speed of 150Mbps. Why the laptop will not connect to WiFi ....

After searching around online, got a hint of what to do.
Made it to the Device Manager, these are missing or non existant (small yellow exclamation triangle):

Along with finding the proper downloads, I'm not sure in which order I should be installing them (if there is a specific order at all), and if I need to reboot every time I install something new.
After the complete melt-down of the old WinXp, I installed Win7 - so far most of ti works. However, WLAN doesnt work. (P/N is PY869PA#ABG, it also says dv1303ap on the label)

Is there any driver for WLAN available? Witout WLAn or internet access the good old HP is pretty useless....
I am having trouble with my wireless button, it remains red/orange despite touching it and restarting my laptop several times. Â My laptop is an HP Pavilion DV7=1135NR, it is originally installed with Windows Vista 64bit. However, i have it reformatted and change the OS to Windows7 Ultimate (32bit). And now i the wireless button wont turn blue. And also the wireless button located in the taskbar is no longer there.

Some additional background: The same problem (wireless wont turn blue) had been recurring before i had it reformatted but then i seek assistance then to HP customer assistant, and installed atheros. the problem had fixed for a while and the same problem would recur. Â However, i can turn it blue once i restart the laptop or when the "WLAN disabled" message would appear in the task bar and i would immediately touch the wireless button.

I have the HP Pavilion dv7-3079wm for a few years never had an issue till lately. the wireless button will not turn on. i have tried rebooting, updating and restore. If I connect with the ethernet cable it sometimes turns the wireless button on but does not stay on so I can not take it outside anymore.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm runnng Windows 8 on a HP Pavillion g4. I was a playing a game with the wifi off, the lan wire connected, and the battery out, on high perfomance mode. The game crashed, I shut the laptop off by keeping to power button pressed. After starting it up again and trying to use wifi, I realized that pressing the wireless button would show "airplane mode off" on screen but it would not turn blue, nor would the wifi turn on.

After this, I attempted a system restore, repairing existing drivers, checking BIOS, and a hard reset by taking out the battery, pressing on the button for 30 seconds, and then starting up again. None of these methods have worked so far.Â

View 3 Replies View RelatedI bought HP pavilion dm1 4300ec with windows 8 preinstaled. I wiped up win 8 and install windows 7 proffesional 64 bit with SP1. After installation i manualy installed all drivers and everything works fine except my USB 3.0 port. Other two USBs (USB 2.0) on the right-hand side of computer work fine, but the on on left-hand side is just a useless hole. I have read a lot of similar threads and i installed a lot of drivers for different models but noone of them did work.
