I have a HP Pavilion dv6t-6000 CTO Quad Edition laptop and currently the WLAN network card does not support dual band connection via WiFi. I wish to upgrade the WLAN card so that it can connect to the Dual band WiFi at my house.
Any whitelist of WLAN card that I can use to upgrade my laptop? Is there a list of supported WLAN adapters?
I would like to replace a a single band wifi adapter with a dual Band wifi adapter card for an HP Pavilion DV7-6157cl product # LW465UA#ABA. Processor = AMD A6-3400M.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI just received a dual band Time Warner Cable router that I want to wirelessly connect with my HP Pavilion dv6t-6c00 CTO Quad Edition Entertainment Notebook PC that I had for 2 and a half years now. The laptop has no trouble seeing and connecting to the 2.4 Ghz band, but does not even see 5Ghz. I tried playing around with the router settings, but had no luck this far. I believe that it should be able to see it, but I'm not 100% sure. Whether I need to update my drivers or anything for it to be able to connect to 5G? Or perhaps purchase a new network card or adapter? Or am I out of luck connecting it to 5G?

I have noticed that the stock internal wireless card does is not dual-band. This is a very huge issue with my current situation, in which I cannot take advantage of the possible bandwidth at my regular location nearly as well as if I had a dual-band card installed. The warranty is already up, so I'm not concerned with voiding the warranty, I just want to know if the card I'm looking at will operate correctly inside the laptop. I'm repreatedly (and increasingly) losing wifi connection to router - all other devices using the same wifi connection (desktop pc, nexus phone, samsung phone) all retain connection and internet access but the Pavilion keeps dropping off.
My HP Pavilion 14e016tx (win 7, 64-bit, ralink rt3290 802.11) just won't detect any WiFi connections. Sometimes it does detect but when I try to connect, it always show the failure message ("windows was unable to connect to xxxxx".

I have a Belkin DB600 N+ router.
All the phones and pc's on the wifi are fine and picking up the N-band.
My laptop is not. I have Windows 8.1 installed in it. My laptop is running fine on the g-band, and it's seeing all the b and g bands, just not the n-band.
I've updated my wifi adapter driver through the "Update Driver" option on the adapter, and I've also uninstalled and rebooted my wifi adapter driver (to have it reset to the original driver). It's still not picking up the n-band.

I tried installing the drivers in the official website for network controllers and after that the problem persisted. Also to note, the wifi light remains orange.

I have an HP Pavilion dv6t-7000 equpped with the Ralink RT5390R Wi-Fi Adapter. For the life of me, I cannot get it to connect to my home network when set up as 802.11n. Other devices do connect. If I change my router to 802.11g, but change no other settings at all, the HP doe connect. But if I flip the router back to 802.11n, the HP sees the network and correctly identifies it as an 802.11n network, but will not connect.The Router is a D-Link DIR-615 (N300 2.4ghz).
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just received my new t430 and having issue with dual monitors. I am using the Intel HD 4000. I have it connected to a ThinkPad Port Replicator Series 3 (Type 4336). The docking station only support VGA connection. My new t430 only has a VGA connection on the side.
I have 2 monitors. One is connected to the VGA on the docking station. The other is connected to the VGA on the t430 itself.
While the machine is docked, Monitor #1 that is plugged into the docking station works, while Monitor #2 that is plugged into the t430 does not.
While undocked. Monitor #1 does work (obviously because undocked), but then Monitor #2 does work.
So I know both monitors are working and configured for VGA input. My questions is, why can't both work at the same time? While undocked, I can use laptop screen and Monitor #2 as a dual monitor. So I don't believe there is something wrong with the Operating System (Windows 7).
I used to be able to do this on my t420. With one monitor using VGA, and my other monitor using a DisplayPort. But looks like this model my company purchased doesn't support a DisplayPort (at least don't have the connection.)

I bought my HP 15 a few days ago and since yesterday (after I restarted it) it can't find my network. Also, sometimes it finds all the surrounding networks, sometimes one or two, sometimes none of them, but it never shows mine.
All my other devices connect to the network just fine and also when I connect the laptop via Ethernet cable internet works normally. I tried reinstalling the adapter and driver, but nothing happens, the problem is still here.
I have a HPG62 Notebook PC with the original lan card. I have 50mbs wireless service, but my laptop will only go to 18mbs. My other laptop picks up the whole 50mbs. Do I need to upgrade my wlan card?

View 9 Replies View RelatedThe Wifi on this laptop keeps either dropping connection, or changing to a "limited" network. Sometimes it works fine, but more often than not it drops out. All other wifi enabled devices in my house work fine, so I know it's not the internet. I've also tested on two other networks where the same dropping out occurs.

I manage to pair my 2-in-1 pc Acer Switch 10 with an externat Bluetooth (bt) device only when the tablet is connected to my home wifi network. As soon as I disconnect from the wifi network, the pairing with the bt device is disabled. If I try to pair the bt device when wifi connection is off, the pairing succeeds just for a few seconds (1 or 2) and then it disconnects.
The support assistance of the bt device, since it actually manages to pair with the pc in such wifi wird conditions, suggested that it probably can be a problem due to the chip of the pc that probably manages both the wifi and the bt connections and is not able to manage them separately.

Uinstall of the HP Connection Manager doesn't work, then I can't activate the wireless network again!

I was curious to know if this restriction is present in other Sony laptops? Or if it has been lifted/deprecated?
And for those in the know, is this a limitation of the Intel device or the way Sony implemented some other part of the wireless functionality? (e.g. antennas)...
