I have an AR-790U laptop with an Intel 4965AGN wireless adapter. According to the wireless device manager provided by Sony, it is not recommended to enable 2.4GHz and 5GHz simultaneously.
I was curious to know if this restriction is present in other Sony laptops? Or if it has been lifted/deprecated?
And for those in the know, is this a limitation of the Intel device or the way Sony implemented some other part of the wireless functionality? (e.g. antennas)...
What dual band wifi cards are approved for the S410p? I tested a random Intel card and got the following message: 104-Unsupported wireless network device detected. System Halted.
I am currently using a HP DV6-7014nr with Windows 8.1 installed and all of the stock parts out of the box. Â I have noticed that the stock internal wireless card does is not dual-band. Â This is a very huge issue with my current situation, in which I cannot take advantage of the possible bandwidth at my regular location nearly as well as if I had a dual-band card installed. Â The warranty is already up, so I'm not concerned with voiding the warranty, I just want to know if the card I'm looking at will operate correctly inside the laptop. Â I was going to purchase a Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6235 HMWWB wireless card for my laptop, and I need to know if this card will operate correctly with inside my laptop. Â
I would like to replace a a single band wifi adapter with a dual Band wifi adapter card for an HP Pavilion DV7-6157cl product # LW465UA#ABA. Processor = AMD A6-3400M.Â
I have had the following computer for a few days after purchasing from the Dell online store, Latitude E5540. The WiFi was having trouble connecting anywhere except close to my router, but recently the laptop is saying that a driver or hardware problem is detected in the Intel Dual Band Wireless-Ac 7260, and that Windows has stopped the device due to a problem (Code 43). The drivers are up to date, and connecting using an ethernet cable and checking for new updates tell me the drivers are up to date.
I have a HP Pavilion dv6t-6000 CTO Quad Edition laptop and currently the WLAN network card does not support dual band connection via WiFi. I wish to upgrade the WLAN card so that it can connect to the Dual band WiFi at my house.  Any whitelist of WLAN card that I can use to upgrade my laptop? Is there a list of supported WLAN adapters?Â
I have an HP Envy m6 laptop with a Qualcomm Atheros AR9485 802.1b/g/n WiFi Adapter.
I have a Belkin DB600 N+ router. Â All the phones and pc's on the wifi are fine and picking up the N-band. Â My laptop is not. Â I have Windows 8.1 installed in it. Â My laptop is running fine on the g-band, and it's seeing all the b and g bands, just not the n-band. Â I've updated my wifi adapter driver through the "Update Driver" option on the adapter, and I've also uninstalled and rebooted my wifi adapter driver (to have it reset to the original driver). Â It's still not picking up the n-band. Â
It sure does look like that Clevo 18in revealed sometime ago.

Under the hood of the 17.1-inch Firefly we found a 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Extreme Quad Core CPU, 4GB of RAM, a pair of ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3870 GPUs running in CrossFire mode, and a 7,200 rpm 250GB hard drive. The Firefly spec sheet said the machine is capable of overclocking, but we didn’t touch the BIOS.
And a MultiTouch trackpad, Backlit keyboard (with m15x-esque customizable colours), Creative X-Fi audio and a Dual Hinge like the HDX 20.

I have recently purchased a W540 and connected to my Dell u3011 30" monitor. I used the Dual Link DVI-D cable that came with the monitor and plugged it into my Ultra Dock. The maximum resolution i can get is 1920x1080? When i change over to a Display port cable i can achieve the full 2560 x 1600 resolution? Is there something i need to do in addition to achieve the full 2560x1600 resolution with the DVI-D dual link cable? I want to be able to connect 2 laptops to the one monitor and only have 1 display port input so i need to be able to use the DVI cable on the 2nd machine while still achieving 2560x1600 resolution.
i'd just like to know what my options are as far as putting any 8xxx or any ATI GPU that supports DX10 in my Inspiron E1705. I just put in a 7900GS a few days ago. i really like the performance boost as compared to my old X1400, but I have a sinking feeling in me that says that 7xxx is showing its age, especially with DX11 in the works.
basically, i'm willing to do anything. and i mean ANYTHING. i really don't want to have to go out and buy a new laptop, at least not before i know there is no other cheaper option for me as far as this model goes. i was thinking of changing out the mobo with one that would open me up to other more recent GPU options? the only options for this laptop at its current configuration are X1400, 7800 Go, 7800 GTX (Requires case mod), 7900GS, 7900 GTX (requires case mod), and the 7950 GTX (also requires case mod.) there's also a couple of quadro cards, but i'm not too in to quadro.
Does any know if the 5920G has bluetooth capability? I have a bluetooth "travel" modem I use for work and would like to use it at home, but can't see any bluetooth connectivity on the lappy.
It says to turn on the wireless capability, but i don't know how to. I tried press Fn + F2 but it doesnt work. The only way i can use internet it by connecting my iPhone internet to the the laptop.
My girlfriend has a PowerBook G4 (12" titanium), and she wants to know if she can use (and how) her Sony Ericsson K770i as an image capture device, as her laptop doesn't have a webcam installed.
Also, she wants to use the same phone as well to surf the internet (serving as a modem) when she's out of range of telephone lines etc.
I don't know what is happening! In the morning, I was able to use the wireless connection of my laptop! Suddenly I cannot find any network connection! I did reformat the laptop already, and went to bios set up, restored it but nothing happen! I also took out the battery and disconnected the AC Power, pressed the power button for 30 seconds, as read in the Internet to at least reset but it does not work for me!
Bluetooth is on (based on hp connection manager wireless is off (disabled by mobility center) troubleshoot result (wireless capability off)
I have a lenovo G580(20157) which has a BCM4313 wireless chipset which supports both WiFi as well as Bluetooth, (citation here:Â Broadcom Chipsets)...
However I can't use the Bluetooth capability of my chipset..I tried downloading drivers from the Lenovo website(Drivers Main Page), but it would say no driver found at the end of the installation!! Also I downloaded Lenovo Energy Managment, and it only shows Wifi.I also tried downloading Broadcom Bluetooth Solution but itis stuck at detetcting device.I have a new windows 7 installation..
I recently bought a Lenovo z50-70 laptop with Broadcom Wireless Adapters. Its a Windows 7-32 bit system. Wireless LAN worked fine for a few hours, but after a restart it started saying Wireless Capability is turned off. i have tried following: Â 1. looked for a hardware wireless switch. there is none. 2. reinstalled WLAN drivers from lenovo site without success. 3.restarted WLAN Autoconfig service for no avail.
i want to buy a HD PVR but my laptop doesnt meet the system requirements needed, all i want to do is record it on my laptop and than transfer the files to my desktop pc so no editing or any other software will be needed on my laptop
heres the laptop i own

Thinkpad x200, Windows 7 Does not connect to Internet, does not show list of available WiFi points.
Windows Diagnostics says everything is ok except "Wireless capability is turned off" Pushing the little switch on the left side of the Thinkpad to green does not change anything.Â
I just picked up a Z laptop. Got the docking station the VGP-PRZ1. The dock has a vga and DVI connector. When I connect two monitors to the dock the software will only allow me to turn one on. I get an error "this gpu only supports a single display"
Yesterday, after just a month of ownership, the display panel on my ThinkPad Yoga S1 became defective. All of a sudden, when I undocked it (after shutting down normally), the only thing that appeared on the display was a whitish image containing a dark grey vertical band (left), which happens to be the Lenovo splash screen background! The laptop runs perfectly fine when docked because it attaches to an external monitor. I tried fiddling with the Yoga's display panel, rotating through its various configurations and, after a while, a partial windows screen did appear although it flickered and, even still, nothing displayed properly in that left most vertical strip! Undocked, the laptop was and is completely unusable...
I just ordered a Vaio Z590 and am deciding what monitor(s) to order to go with it.
Specifically, I was wondering if it would drive a 30" monitor (2560x1600). The 9300m graphics card specs appear to support it, but I've heard that the Z supports only up to 1920x1200. I'm getting the docking station too,
If not, I was thinking of dual 24", but I've read that no one has gotten the Z to work with multiple external monitors either; is this true? In another post someone recommended the Matrox Triplehead2Go, but that doesn't appear to support 2 external monitors at 1920x1200 resolution + the internal screen.
I have a VGN-AR550U laptop. According to the property page for the Display adapter it is: NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GT. I want to be able to run a Powerpoint presentation where the slides are being shown on a big screen and the notes are shown on the laptop screen. I understand this has to be done thru a dual monitor type of setup. Can I test this without actually hooking up the big screen or does it automatically go into a dual monitor mode when you plug in the second monitory. When I select presenter view it says I don't have a second monitor.
I am planning to get 2x 23inch monitors 1920x1200. So now here is the situation. I want to connect both of these to my sony vaio z. I have found solutions such as the Matrox DualHead2Go box and what not.. But i was wondering if i can get the sony z docking station and use that for dual output. Unlike some other threads that i've read my situation would be to plug the hdmi on the laptop to monitor1 and the dvi from the docking station to monitor 2.
