HP DV6-7014nr :: Stock Internal Wireless Card Is Not Dual-band?
Dec 2, 2014
I am currently using a HP DV6-7014nr with Windows 8.1 installed and all of the stock parts out of the box. Â I have noticed that the stock internal wireless card does is not dual-band. Â This is a very huge issue with my current situation, in which I cannot take advantage of the possible bandwidth at my regular location nearly as well as if I had a dual-band card installed. Â The warranty is already up, so I'm not concerned with voiding the warranty, I just want to know if the card I'm looking at will operate correctly inside the laptop. Â I was going to purchase a Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6235 HMWWB wireless card for my laptop, and I need to know if this card will operate correctly with inside my laptop. Â

What dual band wifi cards are approved for the S410p? I tested a random Intel card and got the following message: 104-Unsupported wireless network device detected. System Halted.

I have had the following computer for a few days after purchasing from the Dell online store, Latitude E5540. The WiFi was having trouble connecting anywhere except close to my router, but recently the laptop is saying that a driver or hardware problem is detected in the Intel Dual Band Wireless-Ac 7260, and that Windows has stopped the device due to a problem (Code 43). The drivers are up to date, and connecting using an ethernet cable and checking for new updates tell me the drivers are up to date.

I have a HPÂ Pavilion dv6t-6000 CTO Quad Edition laptop and currently the WLAN network card does not support dual band connection via WiFi. I wish to upgrade the WLAN card so that it can connect to the Dual band WiFi at my house.Â

Any whitelist of WLAN card that I can use to upgrade my laptop? Is there a list of supported WLAN adapters?Â

I have an AR-790U laptop with an Intel 4965AGN wireless adapter. According to the wireless device manager provided by Sony, it is not recommended to enable 2.4GHz and 5GHz simultaneously.
I was curious to know if this restriction is present in other Sony laptops? Or if it has been lifted/deprecated?
And for those in the know, is this a limitation of the Intel device or the way Sony implemented some other part of the wireless functionality? (e.g. antennas)...

This is what I am working with:
Computer rig:
Dell XPS M1710 Review (pics, specs)
Wireless card intel specs:
[url]
And I think this is the external antenna I would like to get (would love any suggestions):
5 dBi Magnetic Mount Omni Antenna - Omnidirectional Antennas for 2.4GHz - Antennas - Fleeman, Anderson & Bird, Corp.
The pdf says the wireless card antenna is, "Hirose* U.FL-R-SMT mates with cable connector U.FL-LP-066"
So basically is all I have to do is buy one of these, 4 inches U.FL Pigtail:U.FL to MMCX WiFi 2.4GHz 802.11g - eBay (item 160119011606 end time Apr-09-09 01:58:22 PDT)
Drill a hole in my laptop case and install one of these connected to the first adapter that is connected directly to the card:
MMCX to N-Male, Pigtail 19" 100-Series - CA-MMNMCN19
Now the n-female from the antenna can then connect to the now adapted laptop wireless external antenna?
I am presenting all of this as a question because I think this is what I need to do but I would like to double check with some knowledgeable people first that this can work, is feasible, will bring desired results (increased range) etc.

I have a brand new M4400, running W7pro x64. The M4400 came with an internal SD card reader. Now this card reader cannot read some standard SD cards (other work fine). Especially,
I have a Transcend SD 4GB 133x (http://www.bestpriceaudiovideo.com/i...ard-detail.jpg) that is problematic.
When I put the card in the reader, W7 tells me to format the card. This I do not want to do, of course. If I open Disk Management, it takes ages to open, and eventually shows the card as "Unallocated".

I think I need to replace my 4965AGN on my SZ71WN/C as my laptop will loose connectivity with my router for no reason. I get the dreaded unidentified error and the only way to resolve the issue is to reboot my laptop. This was happening even before I upgraded to Win7. Even on a vanialla Win7 install, with no antivirus, it happens. You could ask if it's my router (Netgear DG834GT), but another Vaio SZ that I have works fine....
So has anyone changed their WIFI module and if so, should I upgrade to one which is WIN7 compatiable out of the box?

Hoperfully somebody can help me out, I am completely out of ideas.
I have an E1705 and am running Vista Home Premium. There are two issues and are most likely related.
1) My internal xD card reader keeps asking me to format a card even though nothing is inserted in there, and to be quite honest I can't even remember the last time I used an xD card.
I have tried uninstalling the device/driver and reinstalling using the most recent as well as even older drivers with no luck ....

I have a Studio XPS 16, and I ordered it without the above mentioned WWAN card. I'm going to pick up one on Ebay, I assume it works pretty well.
I'm in Australia, wondering if any other Australian owners have got this WWAN card working with Bigpond 3G broadband.

Does anyone know if the internal Bluetooth card that slots into the underneath compartment on old Dell Inspiron's (like the i9300) uses a USB connection?
What I mean by that is, if I were to chop the plug off the end of the connector cable and replace it with a female usb socket, would I be able to run any USB device off it? I need an extra usb socket for a pretty extreme casemod I'm doing at the moment and it ideally (definitely!) needs to be on the underside of the laptop.

I am hoping to upgrade the above notebook to 802.11N but I am having trouble finding information on what internal cards will work for it. It is an AMD Athlon X2 sytem wiyh an Nvidia nforce chipset running Windows Vista Home Premium 64bit. The card it uses currently ( an 802.11B/G) is an Atheros 5007 based card (part #459339-003). HP/Compaq does make a Atheros 5009 based 802.11N card (part# 482260-001) but it is in short supply and those place that do have it are prices as well as no way to verify it would work with this model as HP customer care would not give a part number via e-mail and directed me to their 800 number to place an order(). I also have heard some issues with the 5009 based cards . I have been looking at an Intel 4965AGN and a Broadcom BCM94322MC but no way to verify it would work with my computer. One seller on E-bal says the Intel unit will not work with HP/Compaq computers but in google searches I have found some HP use this Intel card/chipset in their WLAN card

I just installed a Windows 7 64 Bit (Professional) onto my HP Pavilion DV6-7014nr, and now it is unable to detect any networks. I checked device manager and there is not even a tab for network adapters and the only message I see on diagnostics is "Install a driver for your network adapter. Windows did not detect a properly installed network adapter. If you have a network adapter, you will need to re-install the driver." Where do I find the specific driver I need and how do I get it onto my laptop without being able to use the internet on it? Also, I noticed under "Other devices" in the device manager that almost everything under it has the yellow triangle mark next to it, like for the ethernet controller, network controller, PCI device, USB controller, etc.Â

Specs:
Vaio FW190 (purchased November 2008)
X-Brite HiColor Screen (1600x900)
320GB Scorpio Black 7200rpm HD
3GB RAM
Windows XP
Clean of viruses and bugs.
I have a FW190, my internet works fine when plugged in, but nothing when wireless. When I hover over the Intel PROSet Wireless Utility, it says, “No supported WiFi adapters available in the system.”
Yes, the wireless switch is on … but the “on” light does not go on. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the Intel PROSet Wireless Utility, and installed the newest update on the Sony drivers site.
I have disabled and repaired the wireless connection. I have deleted the wireless card from my system and rebooted forcing Windows to find and install it again. I have done everything I can think of except reinstalling Windows...........

My Dell 1505 wireless N card is a constant headache, If I hide my ssid the card detects and connects to my router but I can never access the internet. It may work sometimes but most of the time my SSID has to be on.
I have tested this with two different routers and the results were the same, vista shows local access only
.
I have tried using drivers from laptopvideo2go and reimaging the computer, I am now fed up and want to get a new wifi car

For some reason I can't search or I would have done that first so I apologize if this has been beaten to death. I placed an order for a Latitude E5500 with 4G of memory and the 2.4g processor.
One question that I asked of the online chat people was if it would support a dual monitor set up with the onboard gpu (I didn't have an option for an upgrade on the 5500).
The first guy said no, my salesperson on the phone said yes, absolutely although unless I buy a dock one of the monitors would have to be my laptop lcd, and just to break the tie I asked another online sales person and he said absolutely not!

I recently acquire a VGN-SZ491N from ebay and since I don't really like Vista, so I wipe out the hard drive and install Windows 7 Ultimate from scratch. I followed the following steps and everything works fine except for the video card portion.
A. Install Windows 7
B. Install missing / unknown drivers
C. Reboot and install the utilities, in the following order:
1. Sony Utils DLL
2. Sony Shared Library
3. VAIO Event Service
4. Setting Utility Series
After Step C, I reboot my laptop and then able to install Nvidia driver and upgrade the video card from generic one to Nvidia at Speed mode.
But when I manually switch from speed to stigma, nothing happen, so I would like to know what should I do to enable the Intel video card portion and make it work in Windows 7.

I have an HP Envy m6 laptop with a Qualcomm Atheros AR9485 802.1b/g/n WiFi Adapter.
I have a Belkin DB600 N+ router.
Â
All the phones and pc's on the wifi are fine and picking up the N-band.
Â
My laptop is not. Â I have Windows 8.1 installed in it. Â My laptop is running fine on the g-band, and it's seeing all the b and g bands, just not the n-band.
Â
I've updated my wifi adapter driver through the "Update Driver" option on the adapter, and I've also uninstalled and rebooted my wifi adapter driver (to have it reset to the original driver). Â It's still not picking up the n-band. Â

Under the hood of the 17.1-inch Firefly we found a 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Extreme Quad Core CPU, 4GB of RAM, a pair of ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3870 GPUs running in CrossFire mode, and a 7,200 rpm 250GB hard drive. The Firefly spec sheet said the machine is capable of overclocking, but we didn’t touch the BIOS.
And a MultiTouch trackpad, Backlit keyboard (with m15x-esque customizable colours), Creative X-Fi audio and a Dual Hinge like the HDX 20.

I have recently purchased a W540 and connected to my Dell u3011 30" monitor. I used the Dual Link DVI-D cable that came with the monitor and plugged it into my Ultra Dock. The maximum resolution i can get is 1920x1080? When i change over to a Display port cable i can achieve the full 2560 x 1600 resolution? Is there something i need to do in addition to achieve the full 2560x1600 resolution with the DVI-D dual link cable? I want to be able to connect 2 laptops to the one monitor and only have 1 display port input so i need to be able to use the DVI cable on the 2nd machine while still achieving 2560x1600 resolution.

I have an xps gen2 that currently has an Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 2200BG wireless card inside. I've got no major complaints with it, it has always worked well and gets pretty good range but I'm looking to boost the range a bit. I see that the atheros cards get good reviews on the forums. My question is, would getting one of these cards boost my range? Many times the intel card will detect a network with a weak signal, but will not be able to actually connect to it. Can any of you suggest a good wireless card that would be compatible with my pc? Which atheros card should I buy? I just want to make sure its compatible. I recently went out of town and was trying to pick up a signal with the laptop, and I found over 10 networks but the card had trouble connecting with any of them. (most were showing 2 bars for signal strength)For the record I realize distance and obstructions limit the range of any card, but mine seems to lack the power to punch through, but works just fine at home and holds a 100% signal. I am trying to stay with the mini pci express cards that I can put inside the laptop instead of pcmcia cards.

Im about to order a Studio 15, there are 2 options on wireless Cards.
-- Intel WiFi Link 5100 802.11agn Half Mini-Card
-- Dell Wireless 1510 802.11 n half mini-card
The Intel card costs 10 bucks more and im likely going to get it just because of the low cost to upgrade, but just curious if theres a huge difference between the two.
