I have a HP G60-519WM laptop. The wireless connection is off. It tells me to "Use the switch on the front side of the computer, or function keys if available to enable wireless capability on this computer. I cannot find that switch or button anywhere. I'm not sure how it was turned off as it is not my laptop. One day it worked the next day it didn't.

I've checked the settings, bios and also made sure the wireless card installed in the laptop works. Drivers are installed correctly. When troubleshooting, it comes up with "turn on the wireless". Nothing happens when pressing the button. It stays amber.

I have checked the device manager do not see where to turn it on.
There is a blue light on the above the keyboard and on the front side of the laptop. It's turned on in the bios. I've tried to resintall the driver.

I recently bought a Lenovo z50-70 laptop with Broadcom Wireless Adapters. Its a Windows 7-32 bit system. Wireless LAN worked fine for a few hours, but after a restart it started saying Wireless Capability is turned off. i have tried following:
1. looked for a hardware wireless switch. there is none.
2. reinstalled WLAN drivers from lenovo site without success.
3.restarted WLAN Autoconfig service for no avail.
Thinkpad x200, Windows 7 Does not connect to Internet, does not show list of available WiFi points.
Windows Diagnostics says everything is ok except "Wireless capability is turned off" Pushing the little switch on the left side of the Thinkpad to green does not change anything.

I cannot switch on my wifi and change the orange light. ive searched solutions for this, and most seem to be solved by installing drivers for the wifi card. and most seem to be solved by going into Device Manager / network adapters... and so on. But as I get to this stage my laptops device manager does not recognise a wifi card as being there!? I can only connect using ethernet....
View 9 Replies View RelatedI am using HP EliteBook 8440p,with Window 7 professional. The Bluetooth icon is also missing in Control Panel tray.
My laptop is new today, my WiFi network is open however I can not access the internet. My Proxy server automatically switches on, I turn it off and I get back on the internet, when I surf my next page the proxy server is back on. My software installs todate have been, Office 2013 (online install), Cavs Karaoke Player (online install), VLC media player (online install) and You Tube Downloader (online install). All programs were on my previous Win 7 laptop without any dramas.
How to turn this proxy server off, HP phone support will be my next call.
My wireless switch on my Z seems to not function.
When I turn it off, I maintain my wireless connection. The light turns off, but my connection maintains.
Weird issue... I cannot enable wireless.
The driver is current
The switch on the side is on.
In device manager all looks fine.
When I try and enable it ... it says enabling but never get enabled.
Tried dleting the driver completely and loding the current... no joy.
Once I turn off the wireless switch, I can't seem to turn wireless capability back on without rebooting the machine. The wifi LED remains unlighted and 'diagnose and repair' attempts do not work (telling me to turn wireless capability on by flicking the switch, which is already in the ON position).
Has anyone else faced this issue?

I've installed Windows 7 64 bit on my Vaio VGN-FZ340E.
As this notebook comes with Vista Home Premium 32 bit, I had to find the drivers for 64 bit. So far so good, since the Vista 64 bit drivers work fine. (PS: It took some time to get all the drivers). Everything is working except for two things: the S1 button and the Wireless Device Switch.
I want to disable the bluetooth, because I don't use it all the time and it takes a lot of battery when enabled. I used to disable it using this little application from Sony called Wireless Device Switch.
The problem is that this application does not have the bluetooth option anymore.
I have a VAIO SZ-650N/C laptop and I cannot turn on wireless. The switch doesnt work, switching it in the on and off position doesnt light up the WLAN indicator and every time i try to connect to the internet it says "Please turn on the hardware switch and try again"
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have an SR290 and recently I had a problem with the wireless. The wireless switch at the bottom left corner does not seem to work; when I move it to the ON position, the LED does not light up green to say that it is working. In the Device Manager, the wireless device does show up, and I can disable/enable it, and it indicates that the wireless card is still functioning. Under network connections, the network connection does show up, but it cannot detect any wireless networks. My other devices can pick up the wireless signals.
