View 2 Replies View RelatedThe company I work for just gave me a new Thinkpad T440P and I have a screen Brightness problem. the shortcuts on the keyboard doesn't work with or without the fn button and the brightness gauge doesn't show up in the power options too.
Someone suggested to that I should download and install the latest Intel HD Graphics Driver for Windows 7 from the support page [URL] ...  but after the installation ended a pop up on my screen said that my Laptop doesn't have the minimum requirements for this driver! so who come it's in the drivers section for this model?Â

I have a new Aspire 8935G with Realtek audio (AL889, if I read it well) and I'm not able to use digital output.
I tried using a common stereo jack to RCA cable, using just the left (black) RCA to plug into the digital COAX input of my ampilfier, but nothing came from the speakers.
Do you know how to setup the digital output of the Aspire?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI currently have an AA1 and am curious to those who tried typing on both the HP Mini and the AA1 keyboards and noticed a difference. I believe the HP's keyboard is 92% and the AA1's is 89% I believe. It feels "okay" to type on, obviously not the best due to its size compared to a normal keyboard, but am wondering if the HP's is worth the price jump (paid 300 for mine).
View 7 Replies View RelatedSince 2 years ago, I owned an Acer Aspire 9420. It is a 17" laptop with Intel CPU (Intel C2D T5600). According to Intel website, T5600 processor have Intel Virtualization Technology. However, for unknown reason, there is no option to turn ON Virtualization in the BIOS. Even Acer doesn't provide BIOS update that support this feature. My works involved VMware simulation & this prevent me from running 64 bit guest OS. Since buying another laptop seems not worth at all & Acer Aspire 9420 is a strong laptop to do heavy job, I'm determine, what ever it takes, I will enable Virtualization on this laptop.
For the past 2 years, I have working hard to achieve my objective. I has search & search in the internet and I found a couple of article about hacking the BIOS to enable Virtualization. This is a few forum's threads & articles I found:-

Weird issue... I cannot enable wireless.

When I try and enable it ... it says enabling but never get enabled.
Tried dleting the driver completely and loding the current... no joy.
I have a HP G60-519WM laptop. The wireless connection is off. It tells me to "Use the switch on the front side of the computer, or function keys if available to enable wireless capability on this computer. I cannot find that switch or button anywhere. I'm not sure how it was turned off as it is not my laptop. One day it worked the next day it didn't. Â

There is a blue light on the above the keyboard and on the front side of the laptop. It's turned on in the bios. I've tried to resintall the driver.

when i started to connect my wireless network 9 feet away(it has full connection) it said could't connect to network. Then i desided to try right beside the router and it worked. then when i walked from the router(5 feet) the connection sais limited connection. 8 feet no connection the same happened when i tryed to do it at my friend.
I'm in the UK and just received this laptop today as a gift. It was not brand new but quite new. I was warned that maybe the wireless isn't working.
I've run the recovery partition. Win 7 64 bit Home Premium.
The Wireless Networks icon always has a red X. Other wireless devices are working fine.
In Device Manager everything looks correct: Reported to be a
Dell Wireless 1390 WLAN Mini-Card.
However on the Acer drivers page the two WLAN offerings are both Intel

OR

I guess the second is correct ?
I played around and at one point the router was detected but no connection after trying the password.
I rebooted ... now Dell again and I can't remember/ reproduce the steps that helped. Red X. Everything else appears to work.
Do I need a new WLAN card ? Different drivers ?
Would I need to buy a PCI express wireless card thingy ?
I bought an Acer Aspire one, it is perfect, it works perfectly when connecting to the internet if i have the power supply plugged in.
I take the power supply out and the screen dims.... no internet, or the internet i have is working, non working.....
I have tried the settings, i have tried redoing the wireless connection... its just not happening! Im close to taking it back to the shop as i have only had it three weeks!
got the laptop and everything works great except the wireless. It connects to wireless fine, but if it goes into standby mode (like when you shut the cover or leave it for a wile), I am not able to get the wireless mode to come on. I press the easy launch button that enables and disables the wireless. After pressing the button, it says wireless enabled or disabled, but nothing happens, the orange light does not come on, and it doesn't even try to connect. When I manually serach for networks, it doesn't see any.
It's like the wireless function is still disabled. I have no problem connecting if I reboot and no problems with other laptops connecting.
i recently got an Aspire 6930g , very nice lappy etc, the only issue i have is , when i'm using the wireless and the laptop is not on charge , the wireless will disconnect itself , then reconnect, 3 times already whilst typing this, edit 4 times , it doesn't matter how much charge is in the battery , it still does it
when on charge the wireless works perfectly , i've had my other Acer laptop connected at the same time , and that works ok whether on charge or not , so its deffo something in the 6930
changed settings as much as i could , but to no avail
I have recently purchased a Acer Aspire 5633 laptop from Comet, as it was £399 for a fairly decent spec with inbuilt wireless.
But i can't get it to connect to my router what so ever.
I am using a Belkin Wireless G Router F5D7230-4.
I have tried changing the security level from WPA PSK to WPA2 PSK and have tried WEP 64 bit too. But it won't connect at all.
