Feb 4, 2015I got dual boot both ubuntu and window 8.1.
After i change my wifi card and when i login to window it's disable and can't enable no matter what i do, but on ubuntu it's work.,

I don't know if it's because I upgraded from Windows 8 to Windows 8.1 but I used that previously when I need to go to safe mode. Suddenly it disappeared. I can only pick two options, "Continue to Windows 8.1" and "Turn off the PC".

Apr 5, 2011I was trying to connect my laptop to my HD TV so I made the HMDI my default playback but I disabled the internal speakers and now I can't figure out how to get them back on. The sound plays through my tv but when I unplug the HDMI cord the speakers don't play. Im using an HP Pavillion dv7 -3065dx model.

The HP Wireless Assistant has the following message: Wireless LAN Adapter: This device is disabled in the device manager and cannot be enabled from Wirelss Assistant. It can still be turned off.
I have checked the device manager do not see where to turn it on.
There is a blue light on the above the keyboard and on the front side of the laptop. It's turned on in the bios. I've tried to resintall the driver.
The wireless device model # installed is:
intel model: 622anhmw
sps: +572509-001 OB
How to proceed? I hope to avoid a complete resinstall.

I noticed the feature Called "DESKTOP charging mode" under extended battery life options. unfortunately i am unable to select the desktop charging mode. It seems disabled. i have enabled Extended battery life and it is working well. I am getting more than 4 hrs battery backup also. i would like to enable desktop charging mode.

Feb 19, 2011I have a problem with a G550 laptop, running windows 7. No matter what I do, wifi will not work. When the manual switch is set to wifi on and i press fn+f5, nothing happens. The wifi card is recognized in windows, i have the latest drivers from lenovo support page and so on. I have tried literary everything, including windows reinstall and still nothing. When I run windows diagnostics it also says "wifi options (or something like that) are not enabled" and i tried with readycomm which says the same thing.

I just re-install my laptop from Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit) to Windows 7 Ultimate (64-bit). But i just realized that there's no 'HP Connection Manager', so i downloaded it from internet.
When i turned on the wifi from 'HP Connection Manager', it said "Wi-Fi (Wireless LAN) is Disabled by Device Manager".
What should i do then?

Feb 26, 2014Overnight, my Z470's wifi stopped work. The switch nor FN seems to turn the wifi on again, but I dont think the device is damaged or something. I tried everything I could.
1) Update driver / Uninstall and update driver / delete and update driver
2) Try to work on WLAN in services.msc but I couldn't find it in there
3) Some people says that could be the power management, I'm still trying to find the compatible version.
So, what else can I do? I don't wanna to format my machine!

I tried to update drivers, and check all webs on this issue but with no solution. Bios updated, Bluetooth works fine.

Mar 8, 2010Since 2 years ago, I owned an Acer Aspire 9420. It is a 17" laptop with Intel CPU (Intel C2D T5600). According to Intel website, T5600 processor have Intel Virtualization Technology. However, for unknown reason, there is no option to turn ON Virtualization in the BIOS. Even Acer doesn't provide BIOS update that support this feature. My works involved VMware simulation & this prevent me from running 64 bit guest OS. Since buying another laptop seems not worth at all & Acer Aspire 9420 is a strong laptop to do heavy job, I'm determine, what ever it takes, I will enable Virtualization on this laptop.

Lenovo P/Y/Z Series :: Unable To Enable WiFi Using Function Keys - Y580
Oct 2, 2012I have a problem, normally I press Fn and F5 to bring up the window to enable/disable Wireless Lan and Bluetooth. But it's suddenly stopped working and I cannot switch on my Wireless Lan.
This is on IdeaPad Y580 running Windows 7.
1. When I press Fn F5 no window opens.
2. When I press Fn F6 my track pad is enabled/disabled as normal, although I do not see the notification on screen.
3. When I press the Fn and volume or brightness controls, they work perfectly, but again I do not notification on screen, the bars showing level of volume or brightness.
4. Also the One Touch Recovery and One Key Theater buttons are not working. But the audio Mute button is working.
5. I have uninstalled the Lenovo Energy Management software and reinstalled it but no difference.
6. I have checked the BIOS and Wireless Lan is enabled.
7. I also saw that in Task Manager I cannot see utility.exe running.
Acer :: Will Aspire One Mini Xp Have Wifi
Nov 26, 2008The model I am looking to get is the Acer Aspire One 160gb 6 celled battery, 8.9" 1gb Ram WinXP based system.
After reading a bit about people having connectivity problems (very big deal for me in a laptop), I'm scared on whether or not I should buy it. Everything else looked great but I don't really know Acer at all, so the idea that they could have shipped out defective Wifi chips and not fix it due to costs could be a reality.
However, when looking at reviews, it seems like everyone who is having these problems have 1) the LINUX version, and 2) the NON-6 celled battery version (120gb Aspire 512 ram 349$ version) and no one seems to differentiate between these (I don't know if it actually makes a difference though).
So, are there connectivity problems on the Acer Aspire One or is this an isolated problem that could happen to all notebooks?

4720Z is detecting the network but it is unable to connect, Even it didn't ask for 'KEY' when I tried to connect to my network.
It just says ''Windows unable to connect...."

Dec 25, 2014I bought the Aspire E5-571 yesterday and i have been trying to connect to wifi with no luck what so ever. it runs windows 8.1 x64bit. i have updated the atheros network adapter to .285 provided on the acer drivers downloads section. but still no luck. wifi connections are shown but i cannot connect to them, i have bt infinity using the bt hub 4. i get as far as typing in the pass code for the router but then says it cannot connect. my other devices can connect (iPhone, laptop running win7). the only way for me to connect is to sit on my stairs using an ethernet cable.

Oct 18, 2008The Aspire One is a great machine that, for me, was mildly crippled by a finicky Wi-Fi connection. There has been some discussion about this on other parts of the web. For some people, the actual wireless module turns on and off occasionally. For other people, the wireless connects and works just fine, but then won't work for a few minutes - but doesn't disconnect from the router. After a brief wait, the internet works again.
I had the problem of the module remaining connected but not working. Fooling with various settings helped, but it was still not as good as it should be, so I decided to replace the module with an Intel 4965AGN wireless module. This is the easiest fix for those who have this problem and have been frustrated by a solution. I say "easy," because it was easy to spend $35 for the module on eBay and install it, rather than spend another 3 hours fiddling with the settings.
I followed the disassembly guide here to take the keyboard and top panel off. This guide is great, and the author did a nice job with the descriptions..............
Acer :: Aspire 5613 Wifi Upgrade
Sep 30, 2008I`m trying to upgrade my 5613 wifi.
Ordered a new Atheos mini pci card.
After installing the new card the computer says "no wireless device"..
I cant turn on the wifi card from the button on the front.
Tried to update both drivers and bios without any luck.
Changed back to the old card, and this has also the same problem now!
Tried to delete device in device manager and do a new installation...
Still the same.....
So now I cant get my wifi to work!
Anyone knows if its possible to upgrade the wifi on a 5613 to N?
Acer :: Aspire 4730 And 4730Z WiFi
Apr 11, 2009I have both a 4730 and 4730z. The network cards are not identical but my issue is. I'm trying to connect to my 5GHz N network from the Netgear WNDR3300 router. Neither system displays this network in the available networks display. I can only see the 2.4GHz network. I have tested the router with a Toshiba wireless N and an HP g. Both of these laptops can view both networks and connect to the N 5GHz network. The Toshiba, since it is an N, can connect at the higher speed. The HP can connect to it but will only connect at the g speed. So I do not believe I have a problem with the router. I have been trying to get a response from Acer tech support for 2 days;
