View 10 RepliesI have looked everywhere but can't find the answer. Forum suggests Fn plus F3 keys but this only enables Flight mode. I have an Acer Aspire E5..
View 7 Replies View RelatedI've reinstalled windows and all drivers, but for some reason I can't get my keyboard function shortcutsto work (you know- the ones you have to hold the Fn key for).
View 2 Replies View RelatedThe company I work for just gave me a new Thinkpad T440P and I have a screen Brightness problem. the shortcuts on the keyboard doesn't work with or without the fn button and the brightness gauge doesn't show up in the power options too.
Someone suggested to that I should download and install the latest Intel HD Graphics Driver for Windows 7 from the support page [URL] ... but after the installation ended a pop up on my screen said that my Laptop doesn't have the minimum requirements for this driver! so who come it's in the drivers section for this model?

need of a new notebook, and I'm thinking about trying out Apple for once. But the funny thing is that because of work I plan to run Windows 7 x64 almost exclusively on the MBP.
Before you think "no point in getting a Mac" or something, I've thought this out.
But what I can't figure out...is how to you install Windows 7 x64. I've read that x64 doesn't have driver support and/or there are problems with x64 and EFI. I also can't figure out how I would go 'Home' or a 'Page Up' or a 'Page Down' or to the 'End' from within Windows 7. 'Delete' and 'Backspace' are a concern too, but I seem to have found out how to do that already. I live by these keys (yes, I'm a PC ) and I need them.
How do I move the active app on the screen with some keyboard shortcuts?
I really need some application that will move my windows where I want right away, resizing them at the same time.
My specific scenario is: I use an external 27" LCD with the MBP; I keep connecting and disconnecting the laptop over a day at work several time.
The problem is: I set up a window to be "that big" and to be on "that" part of the display, I set up other windows next to the first one (usually all documents, need to compare them side by side) and it looks and works fine on the big screen, but when I disconnect they are not keeping the side-by-side position (smaller of course, to fit on the 15" MBP display).
My wish: to press something like Ctrl+1 to move the active window to position 1,1 on the screen, with the windows size of 960 & 600; Ctrl+2 to move the active window to position 961, 1, with the size of 960x600. This way I would get the 2 windows side by side really easy.
I found several apps doing this(and much more) for Finder, but nothing for any window of any application that runs on Mac ...
I have no idea how hard is to code this on a Mac, fairly new with Macs; but I am ready to purchase a small utility that will accomplish those tasks ..
Am trying to add short cuts to the dock, which it says, highlight and drag onto the dock. when i drag it onto the dock thou, it doesnt work, the little red circle with line throu it comes up.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI've had my MBP for about 4 month now and have been having problems with its keyboard since I bought it. First, the "Z" key sank in (I think there was a problem with the spring). I took it to the Apple Store, and they "fixed" on the spot (it's much harder to press and only registered a key press 70% of the time). The lower right corner of the "E" has noticeably sunk in, and I need to resort to pressing the upper left corner. Also, the left side of the keyboard feels "mushy", not hugely so, but definitely noticeable after typing a few sentences. Can I request that Apple just replace the entire keyboard instead of just individual keys?
View 6 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone have the wired full size apple keyboard w/ the numeric pad?
I got it a couple days ago and it definitely takes some getting used to. But that phase is over now and I love this keyboard. The build quality is amazing and typing feels just like my MBP keyboard.
It is my understanding that all MBP's now have the backlit keyboard, even the base config 2.26 GHZ 13" Unibody. Is this indeed so?
My BIL has taken a liking to the backlit keyboard on my 2.4ghz MB Unibody, and wants to buy a similar machine. I told him that the base unibody system didn't used to come backlit, but now they apparently do (at least from what is written on the Apple website).
Is the keyboard for the unibody MBP EXACTLY the same as the white macbook keyboards except for it being black? I thought on the apple website it said that the keys were curved a little bit which is not the case on the white mackbook.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased the aluminum Apple bluetooth keyboard and I love it except the F1 & F2 buttons that are supposed to control the screen brightness don't work. They did work once or twice momentarily, but do not work now.
View 3 Replies View RelatedSometimes when I plays DVDs, the keyboard flickers just slightly. Is this a widespread problem or is it just me?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm wondering if there's a non-Apple, and ideally scissor-action, keyboard which features the same functionality on the function key row (in both OS X and Boot Camp).
It's something I'd like, just that I'm not willing to tolerate using Apple's HelloRSIboard to get it.
Anyone have any thoughts on the Logitech diNovo Mac Edition vs. the Apple Wireless Keyboard?
Experiences of people who have actually used both would be most helpful.
Also, any thoughts on the diNovo Edge would be appreciated too (the one with the touchdisc instead of the numpad).
Im bringing this up again because I have a really bad case of it, now that I have had my unibody MBP for over a year.
I have tried rubbing alcohol, soap, eyeglass wipes, hydrochloric acid from my lab, but nothing worked.
I was just wondering if anyone has found something that works?
I've been having this problem lately where when I click the backlit keyboard button it gives me a circle with a / through it. All my settings regarding ambient light detection is turned off so I am not to sure why it is doing this...

My keyboard has gotten dirty with finger oil and I want to clean it with isopropyl alcohol. Will this hurt the finish of the keys/ aluminum in any way?
if this keyboard supports BT 2.1? there is no tech specs on apple's website.
I get repeated keys and there is a firmware update that should take care of that.
also I had to pair it every 2-3 days because when I come back from hibernation or sleep it always have problems connecting. does the light blink when batteries are low?
I saw this software update, [url]
what does it add, and is it for this keyboard? all the keyboards in the download section have the same picture but there are d/l updates from 2006 when this keyboard wasn't even around.
I finally got rid of my 3 batteries BT apple keyboard, which I enjoyed using when it worked, but it was so unreliable. It would drain batteries fast, go out of sync, take forever to come back from sleep. Apple replaced it once.
Now I was wondering if the new one with 2 batteries is any better. I am very skeptic, to say the least to purchase this new one, there are complaints all over the place Apple - Support - Discussions - Apple Wireless Keyboard Eating Batteries ... and not only about the battery drain but also connectivity. I am having second thoughts about BT reliability in general.
What's your experience with this new keyboard? if there a similar keyboard by another manufacturer? I need something with keys that require very little pressure since I have tendinitis.
I recently spilled some mountain dew on my mbp. I turned it off and wiped it down and it works fine except the spacebar and a couple other keys are sticking down and dont have a good mechanical response. Does anyone know how much it would cost to maybe clean under the keys or replace them?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI am thinking about buying a Macbook pr 13". But I am concerned about they keys. Specifically the arrow keys. Those are the keys I use the most. I tried them at the store and they seem a little bit on the small side. But my biggest concern is how they will hold up with wear and tear. Will they loose their firmness and become worn out with in a year? And what about tilting? I heard some stories about the keys that become 'tilted'. To me this sounds like a key that is tilted looses it's firmness and gives less feedback.

View 8 Replies View RelatedIs there a place I can just download Windows drivers (Vista x64) for the Apple Wired Keyboard. Just picked one up for my notebook. I don't need the missing keys, just would like the function keys to work (Dim-/+, Task Switching, Media, Volume and Eject).

View 10 Replies View RelatedI've read about marks being left on the screen when closing the lid of Macbooks but I didn't expect it to happen on my Macbook Pro (late 2007 model) because the keyboard keys are slightly recessed and rounded.
Well, technically the problem didn't arise from the keys but rather that sharp edge just below the spacebar and above the trackpad. What I have now is a thin line that's about 1" to 2" across. It makes the screen look slightly faded in that area. I figured that it came from that spot below the spacebar after placing a sticky note just below it and observing where it touches once the lid closes.
I guess it's not a terrible problem but it is kind of annoying. It especially annoys me to think that I might get a little less when re-selling the computer because of it
Just wanted to let those of you who use the same computer know. It'd be good to place a cloth or something over that area when shutting the lid and transporting the computer. I'm guessing it must have been slightly squeezed in that area of the screen at one point or another while the lid was closed.
My sister is 14 and she spilled a full glass of water on her Macbook keyboard. It shut off automatically. I took out the battery and turned the laptop upside down. I tried to aim a hair dryer at the vents, and now it is just sitting still drying out. It is showing no sign of life.

So I want to add in a new shortcut but I need the code for next tab and previous tab.
How do I turn off the backlit keyboard on my macbook pro when running Windows XP via boot camp?
