Lenovo P/Y/Z Series :: Z50-70 Laptop Wireless Capability Turned Off
Oct 21, 2014
I recently bought a Lenovo z50-70 laptop with Broadcom Wireless Adapters. Its a Windows 7-32 bit system. Wireless LAN worked fine for a few hours, but after a restart it started saying Wireless Capability is turned off. i have tried following:
1. looked for a hardware wireless switch. there is none.
2. reinstalled WLAN drivers from lenovo site without success.
3.restarted WLAN Autoconfig service for no avail.
Thinkpad x200, Windows 7 Does not connect to Internet, does not show list of available WiFi points.
Windows Diagnostics says everything is ok except "Wireless capability is turned off" Pushing the little switch on the left side of the Thinkpad to green does not change anything.
I don't know what is happening! In the morning, I was able to use the wireless connection of my laptop! Suddenly I cannot find any network connection! I did reformat the laptop already, and went to bios set up, restored it but nothing happen! I also took out the battery and disconnected the AC Power, pressed the power button for 30 seconds, as read in the Internet to at least reset but it does not work for me!
Bluetooth is on (based on hp connection manager wireless is off (disabled by mobility center) troubleshoot result (wireless capability off)
I have a lenovo G580(20157) which has a BCM4313 wireless chipset which supports both WiFi as well as Bluetooth, (citation here: Broadcom Chipsets)...
However I can't use the Bluetooth capability of my chipset..I tried downloading drivers from the Lenovo website(Drivers Main Page), but it would say no driver found at the end of the installation!! Also I downloaded Lenovo Energy Managment, and it only shows Wifi.I also tried downloading Broadcom Bluetooth Solution but itis stuck at detetcting device.I have a new windows 7 installation..
I am not able to install the Wide Wireless Lan Driver64 in my Lenovo B460 laptop which is running with Win 7 64 bit ultimate version. When i installed the avialable drivers fro lenovo site,it showed No matched driver error showing.
It says to turn on the wireless capability, but i don't know how to. I tried press Fn + F2 but it doesnt work. The only way i can use internet it by connecting my iPhone internet to the the laptop.
I have a G500 laptop. When it boots up, I would like the Num Lock to automatically be turned on. I can't see anything in the BIOS that would do that. Any other places I should be looking? Any other way to keep it turned on?
Just received a y410p from ups, no visible box damage but when turned on it goes to an unclear blue screen and does nothing. It sometimes turns on and off repeatedly without getting anywhere. The OKR button gets stuck in when pushed and does nothing but repeatedly turning on and off the laptop. Spoke to lenovo and they are sending me a recovery disk, (not overnight mind you, but 3 day delivery, what great customer service that is). I have serious doubts that the recovery disk will do anything. What are my remedies?
I just bought my laptop today, it has a i7-4500 processor with windows 8.1... While i was installing norton the screen turned blue but it was ok after a few minutes. But the screen turned blue again, and my task manager stopped responsing. It returned to normal after i re-signed in. Now it just turns blue for a few seconds occasionally and goes back to my desktop screen with all my shortcuts moved to the centre and my background removed.
I am not sure if this is normal, haven't used windows 8 before.
I have lenovo ideapad z510 came with windows 8.Then I have installed ubuntu 13.10 on it. But when ever I turn on my laptop in ubuntu brightness set to 0 & I have to manullay adjust it.
My 2 day old Lenovo Y510P laptop has a problem with charging. I noticed the battery was never going above 60% charged. I left it plugged in for over 24 hours and nothing changed. So I decided to completely drain the battery and used the laptop until it died. With the laptop off I left it plugged in until the battery LED turned white which indicates the battery is fully charged. Unfortunately the battery still shows 60% charged.
My wireless is turned off or disabled. The wireless button is yellow. I tried pressing the wireless button and the button remains yellow. What needs to be done to enable the wireless.

I have an HP ENVY dv6-7246us Notebook PC with a Qualcomm Atheros QCA9565 802.11b/g/n wireless adaptor. the past 2 weeks the adaptor has been turned off and I can not find a way to turn it back on.
In device manager the adaptor is shown to be working properly. The indicator light (f12) is showing white as it should and toggles into and out of airplane mode properly.I have tried to open the properties tab in network connections to no avail. I also could not find a newer driver for the adaptor.the ethernet adapter is working well. I have Windows 8 64 bit and am using AVG anti-virus.I need the wireless to be working properly or I will just have to get another computer.
I have an Acer 4810TZ timeline (SU4100 processor). I had charged the battery up to 100% and then left on an 11 day vacation. When I came back, I found the battery to have only a 16.7% charge left on it. Is this an excessive lost of battery over an 11 day period? My laptop was left shut down (it was not in sleep or hibernate mode). I would think the drain on the battery would be minimal.
Is my battery defective or is this normal? I've had the laptop for about 2 months.
Installed Windows 8 x64 clean install. - BIOS updated before win8 install. - Win8 WIFI switch cannot be turned on.
Installed newest wifi driver for Win8 - WIFI switch doesn't turn on.
Installed Win8 Power Management. - FN+F5 toggles Win8 flight mode only. - Uninstalled driver and tested with Win7 driver - no better.
Uninstalled Win8 Power Management and installed Win7 Power Management - FN+F5 only lists a switch for Bluetooth. - No better for Win7 PW and Win8 wifi driver.
It appears that some people have had success using a particular method but unfortunately it was described quite badly and failed to work in my case.
I have a Lenovo IdeaPad Z50-70 and since almost 2 days i'm seeing that my wireless connections are not working/appear. Till about 2 days ago all worked fine. It says 'hardware radio off', i looked on google but nothing come up yet, i tried to "Reset PROSet" but still, after the reset it's the same problem. There isn't such a big problem, because i use an internet cable and all works fine, yet because it's a laptop i want to buy a router so there's the problem, i can buy it but won't work... as wireless.
How can i fix that? How to turn hardware radio ON? Is there a button or a key combo?
Acer here. It's an older 8920g, but it has a 18.4inch screen and an Nvidia 9500 GS card
Basically here's how it goes:
Laptop unplugged, full battery or near full, placed on a bed (you can see where this is going), playing emulator games
Later, it suddenly turns off.
Upon trying to turn it back straight away, the laptop turns on, but only a blank screen is present.
I recommended to leave laptop off for 2 odd hours. Tried again after 2 hours, same result.
I got hold of the laptop now, basically it turns on, then suddenly flicks off and then back on again, and does.... nothing. The audio/media pad responds though (i.e. hold and mute button is responsive). I tried to take out the battery and turn it on, nothing.
Then I put the battery back in and turn it on, same result. Screen remains black throughout all scenarios.
It was placed vertically in a bag and my grandma spilled water from a flower vase on my laptop. Good thing it wasn't turned on but The ports were wet and I wiped them with tissue.
I placed the laptop upside down in front of a fan to hopefully let all the water inside evaporate. I also dismantled the battery.
I turned on my laptop and started getting the 7 beeps. This seems to be an issue with alot of M5010's Is Dell going to do anything about this for its users?
I turned on my computer today and the Resuming Windows notice came up followed by Dell logo which I clicked on and the screen went blank. Have tried obvious things like disconnecting from mains power and switching back on with no joy.
I have an Acer aspire ES1-512-C5YW that has a flashing red light when turned on. The battery appears to be fully charged. What do I need to do to stop this ....
My wireless worked fine last night. Got up this morning, turned the computer on, and the wireless does not work. Here's what I've done so far:
* Using fn+F5 I've ensured the wireless is turned on. * When I try to connect wirelessly I get "error 651 modem not working." But the wireless works with the other twocomputers in my house, and when I hook up directly to the modem/router (Motorola 3347 from Qwest) with anEthernet cable, the Y560 works fine. So I do not think the modem is the problem. * Tried to "auto detect" driver update using the Lenovo support, but that was useless. It did not autodetect anything. * From the Lenovo site, it looks like the wireless drivers for the Y560 are all from March, and I got the computer in lateMay, so I should have the latest drivers installed anyway.
I was using my laptop today and tried to connect to a wireless network. However, my network connections does not allow me to connect to it, and when I tried to troubleshoot the issue, it told me that I needed to plug in an ethernet cord. Looking under the control panel also showed that the option for wireless had disappeared.
