My wireless is turned off or disabled. The wireless button is yellow. I tried pressing the wireless button and the button remains yellow. What needs to be done to enable the wireless.

I don't know what is happening! In the morning, I was able to use the wireless connection of my laptop! Suddenly I cannot find any network connection! I did reformat the laptop already, and went to bios set up, restored it but nothing happen! I also took out the battery and disconnected the AC Power, pressed the power button for 30 seconds, as read in the Internet to at least reset but it does not work for me!
Bluetooth is on (based on hp connection manager wireless is off (disabled by mobility center) troubleshoot result (wireless capability off)
I have an HP ENVY dv6-7246us Notebook PC with a Qualcomm Atheros QCA9565 802.11b/g/n wireless adaptor. the past 2 weeks the adaptor has been turned off and I can not find a way to turn it back on.
In device manager the adaptor is shown to be working properly. The indicator light (f12) is showing white as it should and toggles into and out of airplane mode properly.I have tried to open the properties tab in network connections to no avail. I also could not find a newer driver for the adaptor.the ethernet adapter is working well. I have Windows 8 64 bit and am using AVG anti-virus.I need the wireless to be working properly or I will just have to get another computer.
One day my computer was real slow so i decided to factory restore my notebook, so i did. But ever since after that, i no longer can use my wifi for internet access. The only way i can connect to internet now is by ethernet cable. I called HP Support and they said i was missing a driver , since im sure i can just download what i need online for free on the HP site.
So, The bottom right icon shows a computer with a X on it. My F12 key is on with a blue light lid up. When i go to HP Connection Manager it says Wi-Fi (Wireless LAN) Disabled by Device Manager. When i go into Device Manager > Network Adapters, all the drivers i see are these three
"Bluetooth Device (Personal Area Network)" "Bluetooth Device (RFCOMM Protocol TDI" "Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller #2"
This is all i see. Am i missing any other drivers?
Information on my notebook: Product Name: HP Pavilion dv6z-6100 CTO Quad Edition Entertainment Notebook Product Number: LK183AV OS Name: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium System Type: x64
The laptop is HP Pavilion G4 running Windows 7 Ultimate (64-bit).
I just re-install my laptop from Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit) to Windows 7 Ultimate (64-bit). But i just realized that there's no 'HP Connection Manager', so i downloaded it from internet.
When i turned on the wifi from 'HP Connection Manager', it said "Wi-Fi (Wireless LAN) is Disabled by Device Manager". What should i do then?
The laptop is a HP EliteBook 8440p running Windows 7 Professional Win7Pro.
The HP Wireless Assistant has the following message: Wireless LAN Adapter: This device is disabled in the device manager and cannot be enabled from Wirelss Assistant. It can still be turned off.
I have checked the device manager do not see where to turn it on.
There is a blue light on the above the keyboard and on the front side of the laptop. It's turned on in the bios. I've tried to resintall the driver.
The wireless device model # installed is: intel model: 622anhmw sps: +572509-001 OB
How to proceed? I hope to avoid a complete resinstall.
I had recently installed Windows 7 again on my Hard Drive and then i downloaded all the drivers for my Laptop from HP website. My Laptop pc is HP Pavilion DV6 -2155dx Entertainment. I have installed all the drivers but while installing Realtek Ethernert Controller Driver I found an error it was stating that " The Realtek Network Controller was not found. If Deep Sleep Mode is Enabled Please Plug the Cable". And also while installing Atheros Drivers I found this error " The Device may not be present or could have been ejected / unplugged from the system.
Insert or Reinsert Now" I have also installed HP Wireless Assistant After installation and Rebooting The wireless assistant shows that wifi is disabled (orange light on the keyboard) but when i try to enable it, it doesnt turn blue but it states that Wireless Adapter is disabled by Device Manager. I also have checked the boot menu or bios and found that for wifi it was already enabled. In Device Manager i can find the device with yellow colored signal. I am not able to understand what exactly the error is as in Device manager it is showing the device and while installing the drivers it is showing it is ejected / unplugged".
I have a HP 6530 business notebook...I put the notebook into hibernation before sleeping and in the morning when i tried to switch it on, only the "HP INVENT" main screen loaded and it seems to be stuck on tht screen without loading further.
on pressing the power button it switches off and on pressing it again(trying to switch it on) the same thing happens....
I recently got the 6530b HP Notebook but I now need to order a docking station.
Will the docking station allow me to connect to two monitors as I know there was a problem with the previous 6510b notebook in that one of the ports on that docking station was not enabled ; problem with notebook and not the docking station
I have a Compaq CQ58. Somehow my wireless is not working? I had a look on my computer (it is running windows 8.1) but it could not find a wireless device . It was running wireless before but now it can't find the wireless lan device. All it can do is run Ethernet.
I'm runnng Windows 8 on a HP Pavillion g4. I was a playing a game with the wifi off, the lan wire connected, and the battery out, on high perfomance mode. The game crashed, I shut the laptop off by keeping to power button pressed. After starting it up again and trying to use wifi, I realized that pressing the wireless button would show "airplane mode off" on screen but it would not turn blue, nor would the wifi turn on.
After this, I attempted a system restore, repairing existing drivers, checking BIOS, and a hard reset by taking out the battery, pressing on the button for 30 seconds, and then starting up again. None of these methods have worked so far.
I recently bought a Lenovo z50-70 laptop with Broadcom Wireless Adapters. Its a Windows 7-32 bit system. Wireless LAN worked fine for a few hours, but after a restart it started saying Wireless Capability is turned off. i have tried following:
1. looked for a hardware wireless switch. there is none. 2. reinstalled WLAN drivers from lenovo site without success. 3.restarted WLAN Autoconfig service for no avail.
Basically just moved house and got Eircom broadband installed, my girlfriends laptop connected automatically, whereas my Compaq CQ60 Presario Notebook WindowsVista will not connect.I have checked so many different forums trying to fix this problem, but to no avail im afraid... it looks like there is an excellent internet connection.... but cannot go on the internet because it says "Unidentified Network local access only"
The router I have is "atheros AR5007 802.11b/g WiFi adapter", and the o/s I have on my laptop is Windows Vista 32 bit.
In our previous residence we had UPC broadband, and I had no problems at all connecting.
I have a Compaq Presario CQ57 Laptop which has worked fine up until this morning as i cannot connect to the internet with wireless. I have re-started my laptop and checked the settings but i keep getting the same message telling me to turn the wireless on. The F12 is orange and remains orange and will not turn on or change colour.
Thinkpad x200, Windows 7 Does not connect to Internet, does not show list of available WiFi points.
Windows Diagnostics says everything is ok except "Wireless capability is turned off" Pushing the little switch on the left side of the Thinkpad to green does not change anything.
My laptop has been very happily connecting wirelessly for many years and all of a sudden in the last 2 days it is refusing to connect wirelessly saying there are no wireless networks. the wireless button is turned on and all other devices in the house connect. I have tried wired via an ethernet cable and all is fine. I have tried updating the driver and backing out to the previously installed driver and neither resolves the issue.
My laptop was working fine this morning. I took a nap and when I went to use the computer again, it can't find the wireless network. The network icon in the system tray is all gray bars with a red X through them. When I hover over it, the pop up says, "Wireless Network Connection Radio Disabled." Only two things could have changed: my daughter might have used the computer (using a non-administrator account) and Comcast cable might have gone out.
I'm using:
Studio 1458 Windows 7 Home Premium x64 Version 6.1.7601 Dell (Broadcom) Wireless 1520 Wireless-N WLAN Mini-Card Netgear wireless router, Windows Firewall, Avast free anti-virus (have been using all three for years)
This is what I've tried:
-Verified that cable TV and phone are still working. -Reset modem and then router then restarted laptop. (This is what I do any time the cable goes out and it usually works.) -Verified that iPad and iPhone can see network and use it. -Plugged laptop in through router and can see and use network.
Therefore it has to do with the wireless.
-In Network and Sharing Center, clicked set up a new connection or network and selected connect to the Internet > wireless. No connections available. -Checked system restore to see if there's a restore point recently that would indicate my kid installed something. (Child of course denies using computer. ) Last restore point was Windows update five days ago. -Restarted in safe mode, was unable to see wireless network. -Verified that Device Manager sees wireless adaptor and says it is working. -Deleted and reinstalled driver in safe mode. -Deleted and reinstalled driver from latest downloaded version. This also deleted all existing network connections listed under manage wireless networks. -Turned off wireless phones. -Disabled LAN adaptor and retried all of the above. -Tried FN F2 which pulls up an image of two radio towers. The one on the right, that looks like it's a tower without a signal, is highlighted and has a circle with a slash through it over top of it. -Ran through troubleshooter numerous times. -Restarted computer numerous times during this testing. -Went into Windows Mobility Center to turn wireless on but button is grayed out.
In Windows Mobility Center clicked on "launch" under radio control options and selected All the Radios (WiFi was the only one not grayed out).
In Windows Mobility Center, found that the above was still an option so it appears WMC doesn't see that they're turned on.
-Updated the firmware on wireless router. -Update driver for Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adaptor -Manually added wireless network through Network and Sharing Center. -Verified my antivirus software is working and is up to date. -Changed security options on router so there was no security. (Of course changed it back.)
How to update the firmware on the wireless adaptor card if there is any.
I still have a gray wireless network connection icon in the system tray with a red X through it. The pop up still says wireless network connection radio disabled. I am unable to connect to the Interenet through the wireless, even in safe mode. This is my work computer (I own my own business) and in order to use the wired connection I have to sit on the floor in a corner. It's very inconvenient, not to mention uncomfortable. (My child does not usually have access to my computer but our home computer is down and I let her use it a few days ago and forgot to turn off the guest account.
I recently bought a second-hand HP 6530b laptop. I need to get into the BIOS to activate the WIFI antennae, but I can't get into it, because it keeps asking me for a password.
I've tried removing the RTC battery and clearing the CMOS, but I still cannot get into the BIOS. Or, is there a default password that I can use?
i have a hp 15-q000sq laptop and i can't find my wireless. i have dawnloaded all the drivers from the hp site for win 7 but win can not find the wireless adapter.
I have a new HP 255 G2 laptop. I instaled Windows 7 Ultimate, 64 bit operating system and downloaded the drivers from HP Support Center. None of the Wireless LAN drivers work. In Device Manager, the Network Controller's Hardware ID is PCIVEN_168C&DEV_0036&SUBSYS_217F103C&REV_01
My wireless button will not light up blue. Pressing it only switches airplane mode on and off. I tried a hard reset and it didn't work. I have a HP Envy TS 17 Notebook. Product number is E8A11UA#ABA. How to solve this?
I am considering buying the HP Envy 17-j130us 17.3-Inch Touchsmart Laptop with Beats Audio - model E8A04UA#ABA. The wireless spec says 802.11 A/C. Does it also work in the most common wireless 802.11 B/G/N?
I know the access points in the building are not A/C yet.
