My HP Pavilion 14e016tx (win 7, 64-bit, ralink rt3290 802.11) just won't detect any WiFi connections. Sometimes it does detect but when I try to connect, it always show the failure message ("windows was unable to connect to xxxxx".

I'm repreatedly (and increasingly) losing wifi connection to router - all other devices using the same wifi connection (desktop pc, nexus phone, samsung phone) all retain connection and internet access but the Pavilion keeps dropping off.

I tried installing the drivers in the official website for network controllers and after that the problem persisted. Also to note, the wifi light remains orange.
I have been having some issues with the WiFi lately. Whenever i turn on the laptop, the internet conection is limited. i have to run the Windows troubleshooting every time i turn on my laptop to fix this.

I tried to install a wireless driver, REALTEK RTL8188EE 802.11b/g/n Wireless LAN Driver. I downloaded it from HP website, but when I installed it, it couldn't be installed. I tried another programs (MediaTek (Ralink) 802.11 WLAN Adapter and MediaTek 802.11 WLAN Adapter Driver) but the same problem was still happening.
By the way, I've updated the BIOS and it didn't work. And I found out that my HP doesn't have Microsoft Kernel Debug Network Adapter. Does Microsoft Kernel Debug Network Adapter matter?

I have a Belkin DB600 N+ router.
All the phones and pc's on the wifi are fine and picking up the N-band.
My laptop is not. I have Windows 8.1 installed in it. My laptop is running fine on the g-band, and it's seeing all the b and g bands, just not the n-band.
I've updated my wifi adapter driver through the "Update Driver" option on the adapter, and I've also uninstalled and rebooted my wifi adapter driver (to have it reset to the original driver). It's still not picking up the n-band.

I keep losing WiFi connection. And yesterday I had to do a restore as WiFi completely disappeared from my computer. It just was no longer there. If happens again do I hv to restore again? What is the reason with losing/dropping WiFi connection.
I have a Windows 8 now 8.1 pavilion g6 laptop which hasn't been able to detect any wireless networks.
When i try to troubleshoot to find a problem it says that there is no problem.
The icon in the bottom right shows a monitor with a white cross in a red circle background and a what looks like a cable with a circular head at the top.
What I am currently using is the ethernet cable into the laptop which is connected to the router which is working normally.
I just installed a Windows 7 64 Bit (Professional) onto my HP Pavilion DV6-7014nr, and now it is unable to detect any networks. I checked device manager and there is not even a tab for network adapters and the only message I see on diagnostics is "Install a driver for your network adapter. Windows did not detect a properly installed network adapter. If you have a network adapter, you will need to re-install the driver." Where do I find the specific driver I need and how do I get it onto my laptop without being able to use the internet on it? Also, I noticed under "Other devices" in the device manager that almost everything under it has the yellow triangle mark next to it, like for the ethernet controller, network controller, PCI device, USB controller, etc.

Usually it will not connect to my wifi or will only connect for a few minutes and then say 'limited' and then not connect at all. I did the full windows updates for the computer. I updated the drivers for the wifi adapter. I updated the firmware to my router. I also uninstalled norton. None of these have worked, still will not connect or will connect and drop within a few minutes. My system information is as follows:

I have two ipads, two iphones, an xbox, a windows phone, two toshiba laptops, and one hp pavillion DM3 that are able to connect and maintain wifi connection with no problem (not all connected at the some time necessarily-it is not an overloading problem). The network is running fine, i just cannot figure out what the problem is with this HP Envy.
I just got my new HP ENVY laptop. Product Name: m6-k025dx. It runs on Windows 8 64-bit. I am experiencing sudden, frequent loss of my Wifi connection. When it gets disconnected I don't even get the Connect To slider (which slides from the right side of the screen and shows the list of networks) on clicking the network button at bottom right corner of the screen. I need to restart my laptop to get connected again and after 5-7 minutes, I lose it again.
editing the Power Plan to maximum performance and unchecking "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" but nothing seems to work.
The network driver is Intel Centrino Wireless-N 2230. I have also updated the driver and turned off Bluetooth and ethernet
I have an HP Envy 17-j053ea Notebook running Windows 8.1 64bit. It has an Intel Centrino Wireless-N 2230 network adapter. I am guessing from other posts that this adapter can't handle Windows 8.1 which is why I am continuously losing my wifi connection (other devices not running Windows 8.1 are fine). It was still fine when I downloaded windows 8.1 but all of a sudden displays limited/no connectivity. I tried everything I can including resetting tcp ip settings thru command prompt, finding other drivers till someone suggested me to put my laptop back to windows 8. Still didn't fix the problem. View 2 Replies View RelatedAs above I keep losing internet connection on HP Pavilion g6 Notebook PC and often have to turn off to get it back. I have had the laptop for over a year now and have had this problem from day one. Often there are no connections to be seen at all. I can be on a site fine one minuete then the next it just freezes. Sometimes clicking dissconnect then reconnect will resolve the issue. But most of the time I have to switch off, leave it off for a few mins then reboot. This does not always work so I have to do it again.
As above, I have had this issue from day one. When I got it home there were no connections to be seen. I took it streight back to PC World they switched it on and connections were there. When I got home, switched on others were there but not my own. After switching off and on again mine was there. After that it was okay for a week or so then I started getting the problems I have now. My son sitting about three feet away from me on his lap top has no problems at all so I know it is the laptop and not my router. Also my wifes, my son's and my phone are on the internet through the router when this goes off. Now and then it will be okay for a couple of days but most of the time it goes off several times a day.
I just received a dual band Time Warner Cable router that I want to wirelessly connect with my HP Pavilion dv6t-6c00 CTO Quad Edition Entertainment Notebook PC that I had for 2 and a half years now. The laptop has no trouble seeing and connecting to the 2.4 Ghz band, but does not even see 5Ghz. I tried playing around with the router settings, but had no luck this far. I believe that it should be able to see it, but I'm not 100% sure. Whether I need to update my drivers or anything for it to be able to connect to 5G? Or perhaps purchase a new network card or adapter? Or am I out of luck connecting it to 5G?

Then because I wanted to use windows 8 feature, I downgraded to windows 8 pro through dream spark.
