When I have installed Windows 8.1 (64 bits) on my notebook a Pavilion G7 2272ED my drivers of Ethernet and WIFI are correct working but I cannot connect with internet with WIFA as well with Ethernet. I've must go back to windows 8 (64 bits) and everything works correctly.

View 7 Replies View RelatedMy laptop has been very happily connecting wirelessly for many years and all of a sudden in the last 2 days it is refusing to connect wirelessly saying there are no wireless networks. the wireless button is turned on and all other devices in the house connect. I have tried wired via an ethernet cable and all is fine. I have tried updating the driver and backing out to the previously installed driver and neither resolves the issue.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an HP G71 laptop with an Atheros AR9285 WiFi adapter. I am trying to connect to a Netgear WGT624v3 router. It was working but stopping. I can connect with other wireless devices and my laptop has good signal strength of the network. I was hiding the SSID but I turn it back on. This did not fix the problem. I had an access list set up in the router but turned this feature off. This did not fix the problem. I turn off my Norton firewall. This did not fix the problem. When I ran the update driver, it said the drivers were up to date. When I ran the diagnostics on the adapter, it said the network connection was not connected to the adapter.

I'm repreatedly (and increasingly) losing wifi connection to router - all other devices using the same wifi connection (desktop pc, nexus phone, samsung phone) all retain connection and internet access but the Pavilion keeps dropping off.
I recently bought a new HP Pavilion 15 PC , and the first weeks the wireless connection was working until a couple of days ago when it just shows an X on the wireless connection show that I'm not connected . I checked the University wifi which was working well for everyone else .

View 2 Replies View RelatedAs above I keep losing internet connection on HP Pavilion g6 Notebook PC and often have to turn off to get it back. I have had the laptop for over a year now and have had this problem from day one. Often there are no connections to be seen at all. I can be on a site fine one minuete then the next it just freezes. Sometimes clicking dissconnect then reconnect will resolve the issue. But most of the time I have to switch off, leave it off for a few mins then reboot. This does not always work so I have to do it again.
As above, I have had this issue from day one. When I got it home there were no connections to be seen. I took it streight back to PC World they switched it on and connections were there. When I got home, switched on others were there but not my own. After switching off and on again mine was there. After that it was okay for a week or so then I started getting the problems I have now. My son sitting about three feet away from me on his lap top has no problems at all so I know it is the laptop and not my router. Also my wifes, my son's and my phone are on the internet through the router when this goes off. Now and then it will be okay for a couple of days but most of the time it goes off several times a day.
I just received a dual band Time Warner Cable router that I want to wirelessly connect with my HP Pavilion dv6t-6c00 CTO Quad Edition Entertainment Notebook PC that I had for 2 and a half years now. The laptop has no trouble seeing and connecting to the 2.4 Ghz band, but does not even see 5Ghz. I tried playing around with the router settings, but had no luck this far. I believe that it should be able to see it, but I'm not 100% sure. Whether I need to update my drivers or anything for it to be able to connect to 5G? Or perhaps purchase a new network card or adapter? Or am I out of luck connecting it to 5G?

I tried installing the drivers in the official website for network controllers and after that the problem persisted. Also to note, the wifi light remains orange.
I have been having some issues with the WiFi lately. Whenever i turn on the laptop, the internet conection is limited. i have to run the Windows troubleshooting every time i turn on my laptop to fix this.

I keep losing WiFi connection. And yesterday I had to do a restore as WiFi completely disappeared from my computer. It just was no longer there. If happens again do I hv to restore again? What is the reason with losing/dropping WiFi connection.

I have an HP Envy 17-j053ea Notebook running Windows 8.1 64bit. It has an Intel Centrino Wireless-N 2230 network adapter. View 5 Replies View RelatedIs there any way to enable the GPS on the Vaio Z with the Qualcomm chipset while maintaining wifi connectivity? I use Pdanet for sharing my 3g connection with my iphone and the only way to do this (other than using the cable, which isn't an option) is to use wifi.
I'd like to also have the ability to use the GPS functionality of the Z at the same time but because of a software restriction I can only use one or the other simultaneously.
I was wondering what the smartwi program actually does to enable GPS? Is it some sort of command it sends to the device?
I know on the earlier Z models with the Option chipset there was a command that you could use in hyperterminal to enable the GPS function, however it doesn't work for the Qualcomm and I'm unsure of whether terminal access is even possible with this device.
