Reading loads on the internet about this Vista Local Access Only... Recently moved property and now guess what this PC cannot connect over wireless, ever other device does.
Tried configuring IPv4 only etc etc, still have issues.
Is there an easy link to check the latest driver for the Notebook, HP support section does not seem to make it easy to locate and download?

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy laptop has been very happily connecting wirelessly for many years and all of a sudden in the last 2 days it is refusing to connect wirelessly saying there are no wireless networks. the wireless button is turned on and all other devices in the house connect. I have tried wired via an ethernet cable and all is fine. I have tried updating the driver and backing out to the previously installed driver and neither resolves the issue.

It will show as "limited" and when I click to reconnect it shows I have no internet available. I've run the diagnostics when that has happened and it tells me there is an issue with the wireless card. I can shut the computer down and restart then it's working fine. This has been happening about once a day.

Sometimes it works well, sometimes it works then drops out; and it is never able to connect using my iPhone as a hotspot for more than 10 seconds.
HP support person instructed me to install 2 updates. Now my laptop is completely not working!! It says "Boot Device Not Found". I have to wait for a technician to completely replace the hard drive, then wait a week for a USB plugin to load up a new system.

I've downloaded a bunch of different drivers. I've found multiple forums with links to drivers that worked, but when I click on them they can't be found. Getting extremely frustrated. All of my other devices connect fully so I know its not my router.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have the Pavilion G6 2342dx running Windows 8. Yesterday, I used HP's support assistant to perform a few recommended driver updates. Among the things updated was the Qualcomm Atheros Wifi device driver and the HP wireless button driver. Wifi device installed was 10...222, from 10....212.
After the update, my laptop is unable to detect any wifi networks. It just shows "No networks found." I also noticed that the wifi button light (on F12) is always white whether or not I activate flight mode or not. I get an on-screen message alright about airplane mode status changing. However, it does not appear to be actually turning on/off the wifi because from the sidebar, it looks like wifi is on but with the "No networks found" message persisting. Also, the wifi icon on the status bar remains grayed out with an red x on it.
I have tried disabling and enabling the adaptor with no success. I have tried downloading and reinstalling the driver (10...212) with no luck. I even tried disabling, uninstalling and reinstalling the device from device manager. System restore fails everytime I try it. Interestingly, the latest driver on HP support website is the 212, no mention of the 222 driver.
I just can't believe it, but i cannot install my wireless driver for my new HP Pavilion.Just bought it yesterday and clean installed win 7. Expecially the Wlan driver is missing in the drivers list from HP.

As said, my laptop's model number is dv6-6c13nr. My laptop's Windows 7 was FUBAR from a computer virus that my sister managed to get on it somehow. I just DBANed the entire hard drive and did a clean install of Windows 7. Everything was able install just fine except for the wireless adapter/driver.
I tried both the Broadcom Wireless LAN Driver and the Ralink 802.11 b/g/n WiFi Adapter linked in my PC model's driver page. On both of them, whenever I click on the downloaded file, nothing happens after the file unpacks, no installers run. I've tried running it regularly and running it as an administrator, I've also tried running the installers directly from where they were unpacked into the C drive, regularly and as an administrator.
All of the other drivers and software on my PC model's driver page installed just fine aside from the wireless, it's the only thing, and the most important thing, that I can't seem to get to work. The version of Windows 7 that shipped with the PC was Windows 7 Home Premium, the version that I have and that I installed is Windows 7 Ultimate. Are the drivers not Ultimate compatible?
I've also considered installing earlier versions of the drivers, but I can't find legacy versions anywhere that doesn't look sketchy.

I can connect with other wireless devices and my laptop has good signal strength of the network. I was hiding the SSID but I turn it back on. This did not fix the problem. I had an access list set up in the router but turned this feature off. This did not fix the problem. I turn off my Norton firewall. This did not fix the problem. When I ran the update driver, it said the drivers were up to date. When I ran the diagnostics on the adapter, it said the network connection was not connected to the adapter.
