I upgraded my notebook from windows 8 to windows 8.1; after that, I lost my wifi connection. There is no problem with internet connection as I can use wifi in my ipad.

i can't conect to the wifi....when i press the connect battom for the wifi then it's gone...........and i can't install that softower {Qualcomm Atheros QCA9000 Series Bluetooth 4.0+HS Driver for Microsoft Windows 8.1} when i go to instoll that softower...it's show me like that (the device may not be present or could have been ejected/unplugged from the systeminsert or reinsert now)
I have a HP 630 laptop with Windows 7 64 bit ultimate . After formatting the hard drive of the computer, I reinstalled Windows 7 64 bit Ultimate.
Now it can't connect to the internet through wireless. I've tried all the basics: pressing the WIFI enable/disable toggle key on my keyboard, restarting my computer, enabling disabling the internet connection in the network area, etc.
Under Device Manager I see 2 devices related to the wireless internet:
1. Other devices > Network Controller - it has a yellow warning sign next to it - the error is for having no drivers installed.
2. Network adapters > Realtek PCIe FE Family Controller - "This device is working properly."
Below are the hardware ID's for the network controller that is not working:

I keep losing WiFi connection. And yesterday I had to do a restore as WiFi completely disappeared from my computer. It just was no longer there. If happens again do I hv to restore again? What is the reason with losing/dropping WiFi connection.
I have an HP Envy 17-j053ea Notebook running Windows 8.1 64bit. It has an Intel Centrino Wireless-N 2230 network adapter. I am guessing from other posts that this adapter can't handle Windows 8.1 which is why I am continuously losing my wifi connection (other devices not running Windows 8.1 are fine). Is there an update or another driver? installing it and making it work on my notebook?

First Win tells me it's still connected but I cannot access any website and after a while it loses the AP. The notebook has a Atheros Qca61x4 Wireless adapter, I tried many different driver version, non of which worked.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been using my netbook at my local library for 3 years. Acouple weeks ago, all of a sudden it lost contact with the library's wifi connection. The librarian tried everything he knew, no results. I later borrowed a laptop from the library, looked up fixes, tried them, but they didn't work.
Here's what happened: Got a padlock with a window saying failed to connect to a Windows service. The dependency service/group failed to start. A troubleshoot resulted in a yellow triangle with an exclamation point in it, saying network proxy settings can't be detected, though it also says detected.
Trying the fix on Acer support--checking to see if TCP/IP is working right--resulted in an error message, TCP/IP improperly installed.
Trying rewriting the registry keys didn't work.
Ditto the remove/reinstall network driver adapter.
Finally it said if this doesn't work, there's likely a hardware problem.

When I remove the ac power external internet is lost. The wireless connection still appears to be up but there is no traffic. I cannot ping anything when this occurs.
The only way to get this up and running again is to
1. insert ac power
2. restart the dhcp client service (sometimes have to do this more than once). The service hasn't stopped, but for some reason this gets it up and running.
I have also tried disabling the "allow computer to turn off this device to save power". But this did not work....
I have recently reformatted my HP 15-g029ca Notebook PC and installed Windows 7 64-Bit. However, it seems that I am missing some of the drivers as several functions of the laptop are not working (Wifi, USB etc.).
I have checked the device manager and all the items under the "Other Devices" have little "!" marks next to them (when i right-click and select properties, under "Device status" it says: "The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)...".

Have just bought a HP-15-G094SA laptop (15.6" laptop with Windows 8.1). Whenever I close the laptop lid, I lose the wifi connectivity.
I have checked Power Settings to make sure wifi adapter remains enabled at all times. Have also gone to Control Panel --> network and sharing --> change adapter settings --> right click on connected wifi network ---> properties --> configure --> power management --> untick allow computer to turn off this device to save power.Would like to use the laptop with lid closed by pluggin it through my TV via HDMI cable, but can't because of the loss of wifi.
My Photosmart B109 n-z has lost wifi connectivity. I had a power loss after which my router wasn't working normally. The router's OK now but I can't see the printer either from my Windows 7 laptop or my smartphone HP app. All other devices are connected OK.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have the HP G72 Notebook PC and it operates on the windows 7 home premium 64-bit operating system. I was once able to get on my internet without any issues. I changed my carrier to uverse and was still able to connect for a week or two and then one day my computer says that no internet connection is found. Other computers connect just fine except mine's. I made sure that the wireless key was engaged and it was.
I then tried to restore my computer to an earlier date in hopes that whatever happened would be reversed. The system wouldn't allow it and wouldn't complete the request. Now When trouble shooting i also get the following message. "an error occurred while loading the troubleshooter: An unexpected error has occurred. the troubleshooting wizard can't continue." The only thing that I remember doing before this problem occurred was changing from google internet surfing to explore. It work for a short time thereafter and then stopped.
As above I keep losing internet connection on HP Pavilion g6 Notebook PC and often have to turn off to get it back. I have had the laptop for over a year now and have had this problem from day one. Often there are no connections to be seen at all. I can be on a site fine one minuete then the next it just freezes. Sometimes clicking dissconnect then reconnect will resolve the issue. But most of the time I have to switch off, leave it off for a few mins then reboot. This does not always work so I have to do it again.
As above, I have had this issue from day one. When I got it home there were no connections to be seen. I took it streight back to PC World they switched it on and connections were there. When I got home, switched on others were there but not my own. After switching off and on again mine was there. After that it was okay for a week or so then I started getting the problems I have now. My son sitting about three feet away from me on his lap top has no problems at all so I know it is the laptop and not my router. Also my wifes, my son's and my phone are on the internet through the router when this goes off. Now and then it will be okay for a couple of days but most of the time it goes off several times a day.

Usually it will not connect to my wifi or will only connect for a few minutes and then say 'limited' and then not connect at all. I did the full windows updates for the computer. I updated the drivers for the wifi adapter. I updated the firmware to my router. I also uninstalled norton. None of these have worked, still will not connect or will connect and drop within a few minutes. My system information is as follows:

I have two ipads, two iphones, an xbox, a windows phone, two toshiba laptops, and one hp pavillion DM3 that are able to connect and maintain wifi connection with no problem (not all connected at the some time necessarily-it is not an overloading problem). The network is running fine, i just cannot figure out what the problem is with this HP Envy.
I just got my new HP ENVY laptop. Product Name: m6-k025dx. It runs on Windows 8 64-bit. I am experiencing sudden, frequent loss of my Wifi connection. When it gets disconnected I don't even get the Connect To slider (which slides from the right side of the screen and shows the list of networks) on clicking the network button at bottom right corner of the screen. I need to restart my laptop to get connected again and after 5-7 minutes, I lose it again.
editing the Power Plan to maximum performance and unchecking "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" but nothing seems to work.
The network driver is Intel Centrino Wireless-N 2230. I have also updated the driver and turned off Bluetooth and ethernet
I have 64 bit Window 7 Home Premium. I am using a NETGEAR dual band wireless router but the same thing occurs with other routers. Other machines on this network have no connection problems.

I tried installing the drivers in the official website for network controllers and after that the problem persisted. Also to note, the wifi light remains orange.
I have been having some issues with the WiFi lately. Whenever i turn on the laptop, the internet conection is limited. i have to run the Windows troubleshooting every time i turn on my laptop to fix this.

recently purchased the HP 15 Notebook PC having Windows 8.1 OS. When I setup the laptop initially and was trying to configure the machine it detected my home WiFi...however i skipped the step as I didnt remember the password.
I configured it on Ethernet and it worked fine.
when I tried to setup the WiFi later, it doesnt show any WIFI networks. The Wifi light on my keypad is on indicating its active but no wfi network visible. I tied restarting the laptop and my Wifi router but it didn't work.
