I upgraded to 8.1 a few weeks ago all was fine, but for the last few days I cannot see my home Wifi (which is fine all other devices see it) I can see an error message for my Net Adaptor but the drivers say they are up to date.

The Wi-Fi adapter Broadcom 4313GN 802.11b/g/n 1x1 worked on windows 7, but fails on windows 8.1. Tried to find the driver on the broadcom but not found. Device Manager indicates only problem with a PCI device. Problems with the Wi-Fi adapter does not specify.
I have a HP Pavilion 17-e067cl Notebook PC, it came with Windows 8 pre-installed. I really hate windows 8 so I downgraded, but now my wifi-related drivers are down.

I tried to install a driver, the Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller Driver but after the installation it gives me the next message : The Realtek Network Controller was not found.If Deep Sleep Mode is enabled Please Plug the Cable.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI used the upgrade kit from Acer to do a clean install of Windows 7 to my Timeline 1410. Everything works great and I love this laptop... except that the brightness controls (Fn+Left/Right Arrow) do not work. It's locked at highest brightness.
I am at my wit's end trying to figure this out.
I have installed all the Win 7 drivers from Acer's site, particularly
- Newest bios
- Launch Manager
- Chipset drivers
- Intel graphics drivers
When I first boot it up, the brightness controls work fine during the BIOS steps. But once Windows takes over, the controls no longer function. In the Windows Mobility Center, there is no brightness control panel. [FWIW, my Dell, which does have functional brightness control, doesn't show one either.] All other Fn-combinations, like volume control, work fine.
I upgraded xp to win 7, like we all are going to have to do, but can't get the finger print reader to work. It does show in devices that there is one on the machine. I downloaded the drivers for Vista but they got me nowhere.

HP Pavilion dv7 laptop which came loaded with Windows 7, I upgraded it to Windows 8 but now the Touch Pad scrolling is not working.
I have tried;
updating the driverreinstalled original drivertroubleshoot compatibility on the originaltried a battery remove / hold power button option These have not fixed my scroll at all. No other gestures are working either... The Synaptics pointing devide driver is installed at this time.
The only thing I CAN DO is point-and-click on by touchpad.

Windows has generic VGA driver that's OK, but it can't run any copmplex videos that it used to be able to run. I know it's 5 years old, but everytime I download stuff for the "specs" listed on website, I can't get anywhere. I'm sure there have been more than one video card integrated into the board, but I don't know where else to turn!

I searched for a new driver and found one from Realtek for win 8. After this installation and the reboot, the wifi works fine. Restarting the notebook again, the device was disabled again. I tried a lot of different drivers - it's always the same: After the first installation and reboot it works, after the second boot, the device is disabled again.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI installed a Samsung 840EVO 500GB SSD in my Precision M4400 last weekend. I managed to get it working but it only works in ATA mode. All others modes I tried brought me to the windows splash screen quickly followed by a blue screen that flashed so quickly I couldn't read it before the system rebooted. If I let it reboot it continues to do the same thing over and over. As I understand it I would really benefit from the performance AHCI offers, particularly when running multiple programs at once.
How I might get my drive working in AHCI mode?

I updated my laptop from Windows 7 32 bit to 64 bit 2 weeks ago. Since then, I can't use the alt buttons, both on the left and right. Some information on internet said that there might be some dusts under the buttons, and I've tried to clean it, but the problem still occur.

I phoned Microsoft Support and was told that my wifi driver was out of date and that this needs to reinstalled. I have had a look at available downloads for network drivers but I am unsure how to establish which one I need.... there are 4 options.
Under Device Manager > Network Adapters, there was only one driver which needed update according to this. The Realtek PCle FE Family Controller. When I checked for updates here is said that it had updated successfully, but I am STILL unable to connect to the internet.

I have checked the device manager and all the items under the "Other Devices" have little "!" marks next to them (when i right-click and select properties, under "Device status" it says: "The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)...".

I have had this laptop for a few months now but have never really had to use WiFi - now I need WiFi I find the laptop will not connect to my router, it also displays no WiFi networks. I have opened Device Manager/Network Adapters and the wireless adapter is apparently up to date and working correctly. The adapter is a Realtek RTL8188EE 802.11b/g/n Wi Fi Adapter. The laptop is just a few paces away from the router so should easily receive the signal, my Android shows the router signal strength at 100% with a speed of 150Mbps. Why the laptop will not connect to WiFi ....

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a HP Pavilion g7-1205ev laptop with Windows 7 64 bit Home Premium. I bought a new hard drive so I had to install Windows again. After the installation the laptop can't connect to the internet either by wifi either by Ethernet. After trying troubleshooting it says that windows did not detect a properly installed network adapter.
At the device Manager I can see that there is an exclamation mark to these exact components:
Standard VGA Graphics Adapter

Ethernet Controller
Network Controller
PCI Device
PCI Simple Communications Controller
SM Bus Controller
Can I download all these from somewhere ? And of course I will download them to another PC as my laptop doesn't go online at all. I also tried to run Ubuntu from a flash drive on my laptop and the Ubuntu uses the Internet just fine.
