View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I recently purchased this powerhouse of a machine and absolutely love it. I have one problem though and it is a really bothersome one to me because i really enjoy listening to m music and use my laptop as an audio source for my higher end audio components.
I have an envy 15t-j000 touchsmart that i purchased in late july and received in mid august with the beats audio option.
Ever since I first powered on the computer the audio would skip or fluctuate. I would notice the fluctuation when plugged into my stereo via the 3.5mm headphone jack. It would sound like the volume would lsightly fluctuate or maybe miss some of the lower end frequencies.
The more noticeable problem is the skipping. It will make a skipping noise that sounds as if the computer is bogged down with material, even when all that is being performed is playback. It sounds like frequency in the lines. This will occur at random times under various circumstances. It occurs when playing a music file as well as streaming music through spotify or pandora or playing a video on youtube. The skipping occurs in all those circumstances in both output to another source (headphones or speakers) as well as playing through the built in speakers.
Is it possible I am missing a driver? Is the sound card messed up? Is it just a problem with the computer? is there a fix that doesn't require me sending it back to hp?
I am having some trouble with beats audio. My laptop is a ENVY m6-1232ea.
My problem is that when I listen to music or watch a movie, and I go to change the EQ/bass settings it is completely ineffective. It just sounds completely flat. I tried turning on/off beats audio but the sound is still the same.

I can uncheck the box, and while the sound is less full, adjusting the sliders on the equalizers within Beats Audio effects the sound. Also, the sound is very compressed no matter what. Listening to a FLAC song file with headphones on my phone without equalizers and listening to it on my laptop with headphones, the difference is obvious. Why this would happen or how to turn it off.

I just bought a hp envy m6-1105dx (windows 8) yesterday and as i was setting it up, I realized that the music volume in winamp got loud all of the sudden and they it went down again. It happens with every song. I downloaded the new sound drivers but the problem is still there. I read about this problem in other types of envy laptops but I did not see anything regarding my particular laptop.

I recently did an upgrade to Windows 8.1/ 64 bit. The new ADT audio driver appears to have over ridden the Beats Audio equalizer and it has become inoperable. (the sound works but Beats not beating.)

View 6 Replies View RelatedA few days ago I updated from the Windows 8.1 evaluation to the full 8.1 release and since then my audio has not been working. In the control panel, "Digital Display Audio (AMD High Definition Audio Device)" is listed as unplugged. The audio icon on the taskbar is Xed out and clicking it runs the error finder in vain. Speakers no longer show up in the device listing although now that nothing is working I'm not sure if they ever did or if audio just came through Digital Display Audio. Headphones do not show up as playback devices and the volume controls on the keyboard and taskbar are inaccessible.
I have never used external speakers. The Windows 8.1 update seemed to wipe all of my HP and AMD software that came with the laptop so I reinstalled the HP Support Center and searched for driver updates and all that jive but everything shows as up to date. I don't know what else to look for as most of the forums I've seen seem to be talking about their HDMI out sound not working when plugged into a TV and I'm just trying to have sound, period.

My notebook restarted itself to make updates, once i logged on i found that the sound is not working on music files, web pages etc. other than the windows sound. The other thing i noticed is that the mute button will not go off or on? i tried to troubleshoot but nothing..I found that left clicking my sound icon and clicking on playback devices and then left clicking speakers and headphones and clicking 'Test' led to a pop up; "Device in Use.The device is being used by another application. any devices that are playing audio to this device and try again." I have checked everywhere but i can't find the device being used anywhere? I'm not willing to lose by Beats Audio.

Recently I moved to windwos 8.1 from windwos 7 and i have hp pavilion dv6-6b19ej, before when i was using windwos7 beats audio was working perfectly and i was able to enable and disable them usnig (fn+b). After I upgraded to 8.1, I've downloaded the latest drivers form IDT i think oct-2013 but i still cant enable my beats, i have the UI for the beats control panel but i cant use the beats as a hardware fn+b is not working anymore!!!?

All is OK, except the equalizer function in Dolby Advanced Audio V2 is no longer working. You can still move the equalizer sliders but the actual sound quality remains the same. It just sounds flat as if all sliders are permanently set at zero.

I want to upgrade the memory (RAM), but I don't see any access panels on the underside of the notebook that would make it easy to change the memory cards. I didn't find any diagrams or instructions in the user manual, and I haven't found any way videos on the internet. Netflix gives me a message that there is a problem with this system's configuration that prevents Windows from playing protected video and error code W8156-8007007E.
Xbox Music player gives me "Can't play. Make sure your computer's sound and video cards are working and have the latest drivers" error code 0x00d11d1 (0x8007007e).
All the other Apps that have video, and or audio, give various errors messages (e.g., "The video failed to play".
Now I can watch imbedded You Tube videos in Internet Exployer.
I did find KB2756872 that seems to address the problem with protected videos not playing. However, it doesn't mention if it is compatible with Windows 8.1 and when I follow the manual update method where you make changes in Regedit. I did not see the key that needs to be deleted.
when i hook up my second monitor useing the hdmi port and switch the monitor mode to extend the audio stops working. The volume mixer still shows audio movement but will not output the audio.
