While on the internet I get frequent messages stating the Internet Explorer has stopped working.i have made no changes to my computer, added no new programs.
I have a Windows 7 HP Pavilion dv7. I can use the internet 2 different ways - through AOL or through Internet Explorer. It works fine going through AOL. But when I go directly thru Internet Explorer, I get the dreaded Blue Screen. I have gotten a messsage to upgrade to Internet Explorer 11, but when I try to do that, I get the Blue Screen.
View 4 Replies View RelatedAfter connecting to the internet on my laptop(Dell inspiron 1525, Windows Vista), the internet connection will work great for 5 minutes or less than it slows down drastically or essentially not working at all. If I disconnect and reconnect it will work again but just for a short amount of time. The wireless connection works great on other laptops, tablets and mobile. I have Mcafee antivirus, and it could not detect any malware or viruses. Tried restoring the computer to factory settings and the internet stays connected for what seem a few minutes longer.
View 1 Replies View RelatedYesterday i purchased hp notebook Model # 15-d018TU, Product: F7P99PA#UUF, then installed windows 7 (64-Bit). Everything else seems to be working fine except the internet. When i open network and sharing centerto set up a new connection, it says "Windows did not detect any networking hardware". Also the drivers for Bluetooth controller, Ethernet controller, Network controller, PCI Simple communication controller, SM Bus controller and USB controller are not updated, and i can't update them as a i don't have any internet access.

I have the Sony Vaio VGN-FZ21Z with Vista Home Premium. Recently whenever i try to download files from the internet it brings up a box saying do you want to open, save or cancel. I have tried both open and save, it does sometimes ask me if i want to run it and i press run. It then act as though its tryng to download the file, it then goes off once downloaded and never does anything else. Its sending me nuts as i have tried everything. I tried a system restore as i thought id done something i shouldnt have, ive tried deleting all temporary files and ive just got to the point now where i have ran out.
View 3 Replies View Relatedhello i got a hpdv9408ca running on vista 32bit and what i want to know is when i click on my internet explorer icon the web sit does not work it says not avalible. but i dont know how to change it i can set my home page. when i hit the home page icon my home page comes up but internet explorer i cant figure how to change that. one more thing when i turn my laptop on before windows starts up i get a yellow strip about 1/4 inch thick more to the right hand side of my screen for about 20 sec then it goes away only comes on on start up.

I also have Internet Explorer but neither of them will load any web page when i go to them. I know my connection is working because I can use any other program that requires internet. I've been told that I have a virus. I've ran Malwarebytes, RKill, Avast!, CCleaner, Advanced System Care, and I've tried a system restore but nothing has worked.
View 9 Replies View RelatedOk. My laptop won't connect to the internet. It connectes to the wifi fine but will not connect to the internet. I tried hardwiring and that won't work either. All other devices connect fine. I uninstalled that and it worked fine. I am unable to find that now. The router is a Verizon Fios / Actiontec router M142RWR.
I am running windows 7.
My wifes' laptop will boot up and work most programs except Microsoft Outlook (get a NOT RESPONDING) note and the cursor just keeps spinning round and round, and also on Internet Explorer, I get the same message (NOT RESPONDING) and that is if I can get Explorer to even open. Both will not shut down until I force a shutdown. I have left it overnight and it will still be NOT RESPONDING and spinning cursor 8-10 hours later. Weird thing is if I start either in SAFEMODE, they both open, run and work fine.

When I swipe my finger, a message indicates that simple pass is launching the address but nothing happens and the website doesn't open.Simple Pass came with my HP Pavilion DV6T-7000 CTO laptop with a 64 bit operating system. I currently use windows 7. Google Chrome is my default search engine but I also use IE on occasion. Previously when my Simple Pass worked, my BOA location was only opening in IE.

So I went out and rought a brand new Net Gear router. Still not working. I called Net Gear and they think it's my wireless card?
Is there a way to determine for sure if its a hardware problem? Maybe I need to download a driver?
Is there a wireless switch on my laptop? Do I need to configure my new router? I'm hoping to use my Belkin router if it's just a driver problem so I can take back the new router and get my money back.

I just bought 2 weeks ago new ProBook with Windows 7 Professional in it. Laptop itself is nice but I'm having constant struggle with my internet connection. I'm having Wlan in the house and I have my old Sony Vaio, This ProBook and one Axus tablet using it. (not at the same time). Router itself is from local internet/sky chanel provider with their own covers so I dont know the manufacturer/model and in this case it does not matter. Internet works totally fine with Axus and Sony but not with this. I can see problem is not Windows7 or router.
Problem is some HP own Client security setting program. Nice to have one but I can see there is some firewall that is turning the connection down and after some "resetting", "let windows solve the problem" and restarting etc it lets itself get back up and after a while disconnects it again. Yellow ! sign turn on the connection bar and it says "limited connection". I have almost full signal all the time so even that is not reason.
And again, I do not have any problems with other devices. It is OFF several minutes 80% of the times when windows starts. Then with some fighting, it turns on. Sometimes even without me doing nothing. I just can't find the way/link to turn off the HP "security program". I do use F-Secure Internet Security 2015 to secure my HP against spyprograms and viruses so it is enough for me. HP security program is nice but if it turns so much problems for me I will turn it off.
The laptop is a Pavilion G7 with Windows 7 64-bit. The machine was given to me under the premise of "Internet does not work". The wireless properties and LAN settings say that the laptop is connected and has Internet access. I can ping outside addresses from the machine, and can ping the machine from other devices. It also pulls a valid ip address according to an ipconfig. However, when you try to pull up a website, it gives a "website cannot be found" page. This happens on IE, Firefox, and Chrome. All chipset drivers, ethernet drivers, and wireless drivers have been uninstalled and reinstalled. They are the newest drivers available from HP's website. I have even replaced the wireless NIC thinking it may just be a bad card. I've checked the IPv4 settings and all is set right. Thinking of possible DNS issues I tried using straight IP addresses to connect to webpages but all to no avail. Are there BIOS issues that would affect this?

URL...I can't connect with internet using LAN (cable) and device manager shows yellow sign and asks to install driver for ethernet controller. I can't find the required driver from HP's website for HP15-g005ax as its not listed there.

We have reset the modem, changed the channel, installed the network driver from HP website, and went through all the troubleshooting tips. He is receiving an error message when booting up (there was a problem starting C:WindowsSystems32LogiLDA.dll the specified module could not be found). Could this be related to the problem we are having with his internet connection?

View 1 Replies View RelatedIf anyone out there runs into an issue with the touchpad on a Sony Vaio where it suddenly stops working it may be due to static electricity. I bought a brand new VGN-NS240E (Jan 08 @ Best Buy) and while setting it up I ran into this issue and have seen many other reports on the WEB of the Sony touchpads suddenly dying. Try these steps for an easy fix:
1 - power down the unit.
2 - unplug the power adapter.
3 - remove the battery.
4 - hold down the power switch for about a minute or two.
5 - re-insert the battery.
6 - reconnect the power adapeter.
7 - power the unit on and see if the touchpad lives!
These quick and simple steps worked for me 2x. Noted on the second time it happened that I shocked the machine after walking across the carpet, that's why I said above I think its related to a static charge - bad design on this model of touch pad I suppose. I have Dell laptops and Acers never seen it before until this Sony.
The audio of my Hp envy 6t-1000 (windows 8) stopsworking after a while. The audio comes back if I restart the laptop. I tried re-installing the updated and latest audio drivers but problem stays.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI own an HP Envy dv6 Notebook PC, MOdel No.2CE243OCYT. It has an Atheros AR9485 802.11 b:g:n WiFi adapter. There is an HP update for that adapter, but when I updated it, I was unable to connect to the internet. I realize that this WiFi adapter is only for 2.5G. I had to refresh my laptop, then I had internet access again. I have not tried that driver update again, but TWC just updated my Cable modem to dual band using the 2.5G and 5G bands.I am afraid to install the Atheros update in my lapotop again because I don't want to go though the hassle of re-installing all my software pd[rograms again.Is there a dual band WiFi adapter that HP recommends, and is it easy to install?

I recently got a new Cisco Linksys E1500 wireless router, which is connected to my home computer. My laptop shows that it is connected to the home network, but it will not connect to the internet. Other laptops in the house are able to connect to the network and the internet. Mine seems to be the only one not working. Why isn't it working? What do I need to do to fix it?
I've run network diagnostics. It says "A problem with you network router or broadband modem might be preventing an internet connection." I've unplugged both of these and tried again. It didn't work! I've also connected my laptop straight to the modem and it still didn't connect to the internet. I've tried resetting the network adapter. My IP settings are set to automatic.
My internet connection wasn't a problem before last week (when I got a new router).
I deleted HP_TOOLs while formatting,and i can't find my cd which has drivers and i tried to install these drivers:
Ralink 802.11 b/g/n WiFi Adapter
Atheros 2011 Wireless LAN Driver
Broadcom Wireless LAN Driver
Realtek RTL8188CE 802.11b/g/n Wireless LAN Driver for Microsoft Windows
But I still cant even connect with cable, I tried to install HP Quickweb too but it said HP_Tools is deleted so you cant install this etc....
I have been dealing with this for a while now, and it just happened out of no where. I turned on my computer one morning and it wouldnt allow me to connect to my wifi. I have tried EVERYTHING. My computer does allow me to connect an ethernet cord to it and the router and use the internet that way. I know it's not the router because I use the internet on my iPhone and tablet. When I attempt to connect to internet it has a red X where the wireless icon used to be, now the icon looks like a computer screen instead the the little bars. When I tap my wireless button on my key pad a message comes up and notifies me that i just turned my wireless connection off, but no matter if it's off or on that little button always has the orange light on. I can't figure out whats going on

But one day, I unplugged the AC adapter from my laptop and I started to experience a very weak wifi internet connection. After troubleshooting, the problem comes from my laptop. Randomly, I just plugged the AC adapter from laptop and everything was fine, I mean worked normally . But I unplugged the AC adapter the problem came back. So I wanted to know if there is a relation between the wifi connection strenght and the AC adapter/battery.
