Ok. My laptop won't connect to the internet. It connectes to the wifi fine but will not connect to the internet. I tried hardwiring and that won't work either. All other devices connect fine. I uninstalled that and it worked fine. I am unable to find that now. The router is a Verizon Fios / Actiontec router M142RWR.
I am running windows 7.

I have connected it directly to the router with the ethernet cord but still no luck. Could it be my Network Card? The lap top was pretty warm on that side also prior to it stop working.

Laptop not detected by wireless devices. Unable to connect wifi direct. Bluetooth is working.Unable to install qualcom atheros lan or realtek driver. For bluethooth Qualcomm Atheros Bluetooth 4.0+HS Driver for Microsoft Windows installed successfully. But wireless lan not installed successfully.
Whenever i turn on my laptop it connects to the wi-fi for a brief period of time and then disconnects and i have to reconnect to the network manually. after doing this, it takes an extremely long time to autoconnect and says "connecting to the network is taking longer than usual".
I have the "Intel(R) Centrino(R) Wireless-N 2230" Wi-Fi Card/Adapter and the Driver version is "15.10.3.2" i'm not sure if this is the newest version but i have tried to update and wasn't able to successfully do so.
Also this occurs on any wifi i connect to, even wi-fi that i connect to for the first time takes an extremely long time to connect (2-5 mins).
I am having some troubles. Inspiron 15 N5040. The hardwire connection works, and the modem connects wirelessly to other devices, such as my Apple itouch and my roomate's laptop; but when my laptop tries to connect it says Unidentified network, no internet access. I have been editting setting and trying everything i can think of for?
View 12 Replies View RelatedI am running Windows 8.0 (64bit) and my wifi is not working properly on Battery mode. On AC Adapter, it works 100% perfect but in battery mode, it always goes to Limited Connectivity. Repaired it but 25seconds later it gets the same problem. Limited Connectivity every single time. It's an endless cycle. Warranty has expired and I am not happy with it.
Even if repaired, cannot open any website. Full 5 wifi bars but still the same result. Tried manually (TCP/IP Settings IPv4) but didnt work at all.
My wifi driver is Intel Centrino Wireless N 2230 ( 15.12.0.6 version updated from intel.com website).

When i open network and sharing centerto set up a new connection, it says "Windows did not detect any networking hardware". Also the drivers for Bluetooth controller, Ethernet controller, Network controller, PCI Simple communication controller, SM Bus controller and USB controller are not updated, and i can't update them as a i don't have any internet access.

But one day, I unplugged the AC adapter from my laptop and I started to experience a very weak wifi internet connection. After troubleshooting, the problem comes from my laptop. Randomly, I just plugged the AC adapter from laptop and everything was fine, I mean worked normally . But I unplugged the AC adapter the problem came back. There's a yellow triangle over the WiFi icon. Windows diagonsed it but failed to correct it. A message appears " Wireless Network Connection doesn't have a valid IP address. At times, it fixes the issue but within seconds, the problem again hops up.I am able to connect my mobile and other devices via same router. While on the internet I get frequent messages stating the Internet Explorer has stopped working.i have made no changes to my computer, added no new programs.
I have been dealing with this for a while now, and it just happened out of no where. I turned on my computer one morning and it wouldnt allow me to connect to my wifi. I have tried EVERYTHING. My computer does allow me to connect an ethernet cord to it and the router and use the internet that way. I know it's not the router because I use the internet on my iPhone and tablet. When I attempt to connect to internet it has a red X where the wireless icon used to be, now the icon looks like a computer screen instead the the little bars. When I tap my wireless button on my key pad a message comes up and notifies me that i just turned my wireless connection off, but no matter if it's off or on that little button always has the orange light on. I can't figure out whats going on

I just purchased a HP laptop 13-c004TU (I think -- too small to read). It is seeing my home wireless internet and listing on available networks. I have typed in my security key, yet it is still saying that it cannot connect to that network. I have been on the phone with my ISP and they cannot see why it does not connect. Usually, in these cases, I would hard-cable it to the router, but the laptop does not have an appropriate connection port. Obviously, being new, it is Win 8.1 ..........

I have a HP Pavilion g7-1205ev laptop with Windows 7 64 bit Home Premium. I bought a new hard drive so I had to install Windows again. After the installation the laptop can't connect to the internet either by wifi either by Ethernet. After trying troubleshooting it says that windows did not detect a properly installed network adapter.
At the device Manager I can see that there is an exclamation mark to these exact components:
Standard VGA Graphics Adapter

Ethernet Controller
Network Controller
PCI Device
PCI Simple Communications Controller
SM Bus Controller
Can I download all these from somewhere ? And of course I will download them to another PC as my laptop doesn't go online at all. I also tried to run Ubuntu from a flash drive on my laptop and the Ubuntu uses the Internet just fine.
I get a red X over the internet icon and my router will no longer recognize any networks. I called my ISP and the manufactuer of my Belkin router. So I went out and rought a brand new Net Gear router. Still not working. I called Net Gear and they think it's my wireless card?
Is there a way to determine for sure if its a hardware problem? Maybe I need to download a driver?
Is there a wireless switch on my laptop? Do I need to configure my new router? I'm hoping to use my Belkin router if it's just a driver problem so I can take back the new router and get my money back.

I recently went on a plane trip back home and I am having major issues with wifi connection in my family's house.
They have AT&T router/modem (combo?) and no one else in the house has any issues connecting with it.
What happens is I can connect and browse for a couple minutes or so, but sporadically, the internet will just stop working (not the wifi, it still shows my connection exists). I just won't be able to browse or make use of the internet at all!
I wonder if I might have banged it up or something on the plane ride? Since other laptops in the household are not having wifi issues, I am lead to believe it is just me.

recently purchased the HP 15 Notebook PC having Windows 8.1 OS. When I setup the laptop initially and was trying to configure the machine it detected my home WiFi...however i skipped the step as I didnt remember the password.
I configured it on Ethernet and it worked fine.
when I tried to setup the WiFi later, it doesnt show any WIFI networks. The Wifi light on my keypad is on indicating its active but no wfi network visible. I tied restarting the laptop and my Wifi router but it didn't work.
I have had the HP 620 laptop for about a year now , Recently upgraded it to windows 8 . So... as soon as i open my laptop , everything is fine and the wifi works and everything is basically normal , but when i use the laptop for like 10 min , the wifi randomly shuts off and tells me that i need to connect via an Ethernet cable, and when i do connect to ethernet cable it works . I am on windows 8.

I replaced the hard drive on my HP Pavilion DV6-6c35dx and did a clean install of Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. The network drivers were the first I tried to install, but I was unable to activate the WIFI. I was able to successfully install the ethernet driver (Realtek Local Area Network (LAN) Driver), so I can get online.
None of the other network drivers listed for my laptop seem to have done anything: Broadcom Wireless LAN Driver for Microsoft Windows 7; Ralink 802.11 b/g/n WiFi Adapter; Atheros Bluetooth Driver. I cannot find any wireless devices in device manager, but the laptop definitely has the hardware because it worked flawlessly on my old hard drive.
The WIFI indicator light on the keyboard is orange, and nothing happens when I press it. It just occurred to me while typing this post that I should check in the BIOS, and I will check that right after I finish; There was nothing useful in the BIOS.
