Recently, my HP Envy M6 has been intermittently losing internet when running on battery - it's always fine when plugged in, however. I've run the wifi manual diagnostics and nothing is detected.
I'm running windows 8.1 and the model number is Model:E0R92EA#ABU
I have 64 bit Window 7 Home Premium. I am using a NETGEAR dual band wireless router but the same thing occurs with other routers. Other machines on this network have no connection problems.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am using an HP Envy dv7-7250us laptop, running windows 8.1. All my software is up to date. In the last month, every time i turn on the laptop, the internet connection drops. Running HP troubleshooter resets the wifi adaptor.
I have Intel Centrino Wireless-N 2230 installed. I went out to Intel's website and have the most current driver.
My laptop constantly loses connection to my wireless router and I'm forced to use the windows troubleshooting tool to hook up again. This can happen over and over again multiple times over the course of an hour or so. I'm using an Xfinity wireless router and have several other devices hooked up to it wirelessly that do not drop connection. These include iPhones, iPod touch, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and Mac notebook. And no, they are not all accessing the wireless at the same time. I've reinstalled/updated the drivers, adjusted my power saving settings, restored the system to its factory settings -- basically everything on the troubleshooting list.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI own an HP Envy dv6 Notebook PC, MOdel No.2CE243OCYT. It has an Atheros AR9485 802.11 b:g:n WiFi adapter. There is an HP update for that adapter, but when I updated it, I was unable to connect to the internet. I realize that this WiFi adapter is only for 2.5G. I had to refresh my laptop, then I had internet access again. I have not tried that driver update again, but TWC just updated my Cable modem to dual band using the 2.5G and 5G bands.I am afraid to install the Atheros update in my lapotop again because I don't want to go though the hassle of re-installing all my software pd[rograms again.Is there a dual band WiFi adapter that HP recommends, and is it easy to install?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI upgraded the operating system on my HP Envy dv-7-7240 laptop today from Windows 8 to 8.1 (64 bit), which included Explorer 11. It went pretty much as planned and everything was working fine except my web speeds slowed down to a crawl. I disabled all the add-ons, and reset explorer, but that didn't work.
Note: I was experiencing slow internet (I'm on cable by the way) and a couple of other issues that I couldn't get resolved, the main reason I upgraded to 8.1. It resolved all of the problems except for the slow internet.

But one day, I unplugged the AC adapter from my laptop and I started to experience a very weak wifi internet connection. After troubleshooting, the problem comes from my laptop. Randomly, I just plugged the AC adapter from laptop and everything was fine, I mean worked normally . But I unplugged the AC adapter the problem came back. So I wanted to know if there is a relation between the wifi connection strenght and the AC adapter/battery.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have been dealing with this for a while now, and it just happened out of no where. I turned on my computer one morning and it wouldnt allow me to connect to my wifi. I have tried EVERYTHING. My computer does allow me to connect an ethernet cord to it and the router and use the internet that way. I know it's not the router because I use the internet on my iPhone and tablet. When I attempt to connect to internet it has a red X where the wireless icon used to be, now the icon looks like a computer screen instead the the little bars. When I tap my wireless button on my key pad a message comes up and notifies me that i just turned my wireless connection off, but no matter if it's off or on that little button always has the orange light on. I can't figure out whats going on

But when I go directly thru Internet Explorer, I get the dreaded Blue Screen. I have gotten a messsage to upgrade to Internet Explorer 11, but when I try to do that, I get the Blue Screen.

All other devices connect fine. I uninstalled that and it worked fine. I am unable to find that now. The router is a Verizon Fios / Actiontec router M142RWR.

I have typed in my security key, yet it is still saying that it cannot connect to that network. I have been on the phone with my ISP and they cannot see why it does not connect. Usually, in these cases, I would hard-cable it to the router, but the laptop does not have an appropriate connection port. Obviously, being new, it is Win 8.1 ..........
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a HP Pavilion g7-1205ev laptop with Windows 7 64 bit Home Premium. I bought a new hard drive so I had to install Windows again. After the installation the laptop can't connect to the internet either by wifi either by Ethernet. After trying troubleshooting it says that windows did not detect a properly installed network adapter.
At the device Manager I can see that there is an exclamation mark to these exact components:
Standard VGA Graphics Adapter
BCM20702AO
Ethernet Controller
Network Controller
PCI Device
PCI Simple Communications Controller
SM Bus Controller
Can I download all these from somewhere ? And of course I will download them to another PC as my laptop doesn't go online at all. I also tried to run Ubuntu from a flash drive on my laptop and the Ubuntu uses the Internet just fine.
I have an HP Pavilion m6 running Windows 7 Home Premium.
My workplace installed a router a few months ago. It's a Cisco E2000. My laptop will not recognize the wireless signal from the router. It recognizes about 10 other wireless signals from other locations outside the office. My phone also recognizes the router and can connect to it no problem. I've installed all the updates for Windows 7 and for the HP laptop. I've also installed the latest driver for the wifi card in the laptop.
Why the laptop does not recognize the wifi?
I have been having issues with audio on my G500. One moment it works and the next it doesn't. I don't quite know what can be the issue. I have tried multiple browsers to see if that is the issue and it has not made a difference. I am running Windows 8.0, 64 bit operating system if that makes a difference. This laptop is not even a year old.

On AC Adapter, it works 100% perfect but in battery mode, it always goes to Limited Connectivity. Repaired it but 25seconds later it gets the same problem. Limited Connectivity every single time. It's an endless cycle. Warranty has expired and I am not happy with it.
Even if repaired, cannot open any website. Full 5 wifi bars but still the same result. Tried manually (TCP/IP Settings IPv4) but didnt work at all.
My wifi driver is Intel Centrino Wireless N 2230 ( 15.12.0.6 version updated from intel.com website).

I have an HP Envy m6 laptop with a Qualcomm Atheros AR9485 802.1b/g/n WiFi Adapter.
I have a Belkin DB600 N+ router.
All the phones and pc's on the wifi are fine and picking up the N-band.
My laptop is not. I have Windows 8.1 installed in it. My laptop is running fine on the g-band, and it's seeing all the b and g bands, just not the n-band.
I've updated my wifi adapter driver through the "Update Driver" option on the adapter, and I've also uninstalled and rebooted my wifi adapter driver (to have it reset to the original driver). It's still not picking up the n-band.

View 3 Replies View RelatedThe Wifi on this laptop keeps either dropping connection, or changing to a "limited" network. Sometimes it works fine, but more often than not it drops out. All other wifi enabled devices in my house work fine, so I know it's not the internet. I've also tested on two other networks where the same dropping out occurs.

When i open network and sharing centerto set up a new connection, it says "Windows did not detect any networking hardware". Also the drivers for Bluetooth controller, Ethernet controller, Network controller, PCI Simple communication controller, SM Bus controller and USB controller are not updated, and i can't update them as a i don't have any internet access.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI just bought 2 weeks ago new ProBook with Windows 7 Professional in it. Laptop itself is nice but I'm having constant struggle with my internet connection. I'm having Wlan in the house and I have my old Sony Vaio, This ProBook and one Axus tablet using it. (not at the same time). Router itself is from local internet/sky chanel provider with their own covers so I dont know the manufacturer/model and in this case it does not matter. Internet works totally fine with Axus and Sony but not with this. I can see problem is not Windows7 or router.
Problem is some HP own Client security setting program. Nice to have one but I can see there is some firewall that is turning the connection down and after some "resetting", "let windows solve the problem" and restarting etc it lets itself get back up and after a while disconnects it again. Yellow ! sign turn on the connection bar and it says "limited connection". I have almost full signal all the time so even that is not reason.
And again, I do not have any problems with other devices. It is OFF several minutes 80% of the times when windows starts. Then with some fighting, it turns on. Sometimes even without me doing nothing. I just can't find the way/link to turn off the HP "security program". I do use F-Secure Internet Security 2015 to secure my HP against spyprograms and viruses so it is enough for me. HP security program is nice but if it turns so much problems for me I will turn it off.
