HP Pavilion 15 Networking :: Proxy Server In Win 8.1 Automates On Every Time Switch It Off
Aug 16, 2014My laptop is new today, my WiFi network is open however I can not access the internet. My Proxy server automatically switches on, I turn it off and I get back on the internet, when I surf my next page the proxy server is back on. My software installs todate have been, Office 2013 (online install), Cavs Karaoke Player (online install), VLC media player (online install) and You Tube Downloader (online install). All programs were on my previous Win 7 laptop without any dramas.
How to turn this proxy server off, HP phone support will be my next call.

Dec 28, 2013I have a HP ENVY TouchSmart M7-J010DX Laptop with Core i7 Haswell CPU and Intel Centrino Wireless N-2230 card. Product number is E0K83UAR and I'm running Windows 8.1 OS. Lately, I've experienced many occasions when the laptop fails to connect to a wireless network when other PCs in the same room connect. I should say it mostly connects, but with "limited connectivity" and no Internet access. I struggled during a week's vacation to connect and then had a problem connecting when I returned home, where I previously had no problems. And I'm having this problem on networks that previously were not a problem. I've read on this forum that many people are having similar problems. So, I'd like to upgrade the wireless/bluetooth card to something that is known to work more reliably. I assume I would have to stay in the Intel family. I saw one recommendation for an Intel AC 7260 card...

Aug 23, 2014My HP Envy m6 laptop cannot connect to our wifi connection and only connects using the cable connection, ethernet.
It was still fine when I downloaded windows 8.1 but all of a sudden displays limited/no connectivity. I tried everything I can including resetting tcp ip settings thru command prompt, finding other drivers till someone suggested me to put my laptop back to windows 8. Still didn't fix the problem. Now, my laptop does not access wifi nor detect any wireless connection whether our home wifi, or others.

Nov 12, 2014I own an HP Envy dv6 Notebook PC, MOdel No.2CE243OCYT. It has an Atheros AR9485 802.11 b:g:n WiFi adapter. There is an HP update for that adapter, but when I updated it, I was unable to connect to the internet. I realize that this WiFi adapter is only for 2.5G. I had to refresh my laptop, then I had internet access again. I have not tried that driver update again, but TWC just updated my Cable modem to dual band using the 2.5G and 5G bands.I am afraid to install the Atheros update in my lapotop again because I don't want to go though the hassle of re-installing all my software pd[rograms again.Is there a dual band WiFi adapter that HP recommends, and is it easy to install?

Jul 17, 2014I have HP Envy 15-171nr notebook pc installed with Windows 8.1 pro. Since past 2 to 3 days I was not able to connect my mobile phone to the laptop through bluetooth. So I removed my phone from the paired device and again tried to pair it with my laptop, but I couldn't pair it. So I tried to reinstall the bluetooth driver from HP Recovery Manager. It was notified that the installation was successful but after that there is no bluetooth icon the PC Settings where I can switch on/off bluetooth. There is no bluetooth icon in the Device Manager as well.

Jan 9, 2014I have been dealing with this for a while now, and it just happened out of no where. I turned on my computer one morning and it wouldnt allow me to connect to my wifi. I have tried EVERYTHING. My computer does allow me to connect an ethernet cord to it and the router and use the internet that way. I know it's not the router because I use the internet on my iPhone and tablet. I have had this laptop for a few months now but have never really had to use WiFi - now I need WiFi I find the laptop will not connect to my router, it also displays no WiFi networks. I have opened Device Manager/Network Adapters and the wireless adapter is apparently up to date and working correctly. The adapter is a Realtek RTL8188EE 802.11b/g/n Wi Fi Adapter. The laptop is just a few paces away from the router so should easily receive the signal, my Android shows the router signal strength at 100% with a speed of 150Mbps. Why the laptop will not connect to WiFi ....

I have a Belkin DB600 N+ router.
All the phones and pc's on the wifi are fine and picking up the N-band.
My laptop is not. I have Windows 8.1 installed in it. My laptop is running fine on the g-band, and it's seeing all the b and g bands, just not the n-band.
I've updated my wifi adapter driver through the "Update Driver" option on the adapter, and I've also uninstalled and rebooted my wifi adapter driver (to have it reset to the original driver). It's still not picking up the n-band.

Oct 20, 2013The Wifi on this laptop keeps either dropping connection, or changing to a "limited" network. Sometimes it works fine, but more often than not it drops out. All other wifi enabled devices in my house work fine, so I know it's not the internet. I've also tested on two other networks where the same dropping out occurs.

I've run network diagnostics. It says "A problem with you network router or broadband modem might be preventing an internet connection." I've unplugged both of these and tried again. It didn't work! I've also connected my laptop straight to the modem and it still didn't connect to the internet. I've tried resetting the network adapter. My IP settings are set to automatic.
My internet connection wasn't a problem before last week (when I got a new router).
