View 4 RepliesI have a HP Pavilion g7-1205ev laptop with Windows 7 64 bit Home Premium. I bought a new hard drive so I had to install Windows again. After the installation the laptop can't connect to the internet either by wifi either by Ethernet. After trying troubleshooting it says that windows did not detect a properly installed network adapter.
At the device Manager I can see that there is an exclamation mark to these exact components:
Standard VGA Graphics Adapter
BCM20702AO
Ethernet Controller
Network Controller
PCI Device
PCI Simple Communications Controller
SM Bus Controller
Can I download all these from somewhere ? And of course I will download them to another PC as my laptop doesn't go online at all. I also tried to run Ubuntu from a flash drive on my laptop and the Ubuntu uses the Internet just fine.
I have had the HP 620 laptop for about a year now , Recently upgraded it to windows 8 . So... as soon as i open my laptop , everything is fine and the wifi works and everything is basically normal , but when i use the laptop for like 10 min , the wifi randomly shuts off and tells me that i need to connect via an Ethernet cable, and when i do connect to ethernet cable it works . I am on windows 8.
View 9 Replies View RelatedThe laptop is a Pavilion G7 with Windows 7 64-bit. The machine was given to me under the premise of "Internet does not work". The wireless properties and LAN settings say that the laptop is connected and has Internet access. I can ping outside addresses from the machine, and can ping the machine from other devices. It also pulls a valid ip address according to an ipconfig. However, when you try to pull up a website, it gives a "website cannot be found" page. This happens on IE, Firefox, and Chrome. All chipset drivers, ethernet drivers, and wireless drivers have been uninstalled and reinstalled. They are the newest drivers available from HP's website. I have even replaced the wireless NIC thinking it may just be a bad card. I've checked the IPv4 settings and all is set right. Thinking of possible DNS issues I tried using straight IP addresses to connect to webpages but all to no avail. Are there BIOS issues that would affect this?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am running Windows 8.0 (64bit) and my wifi is not working properly on Battery mode. On AC Adapter, it works 100% perfect but in battery mode, it always goes to Limited Connectivity. Repaired it but 25seconds later it gets the same problem. Limited Connectivity every single time. It's an endless cycle. Warranty has expired and I am not happy with it.
Even if repaired, cannot open any website. Full 5 wifi bars but still the same result. Tried manually (TCP/IP Settings IPv4) but didnt work at all.
My wifi driver is Intel Centrino Wireless N 2230 ( 15.12.0.6 version updated from intel.com website).

The Wi-Fi adapter Broadcom 4313GN 802.11b/g/n 1x1 worked on windows 7, but fails on windows 8.1. Tried to find the driver on the broadcom but not found. Device Manager indicates only problem with a PCI device. Problems with the Wi-Fi adapter does not specify.
After the complete melt-down of the old WinXp, I installed Win7 - so far most of ti works. However, WLAN doesnt work. (P/N is PY869PA#ABG, it also says dv1303ap on the label)
Is there any driver for WLAN available? Witout WLAn or internet access the good old HP is pretty useless....

I bought a new hard disk and 4 G of ram..I installed them and the laptop is HP Pavilion dv6-2137sl , Intel Core i5 CPU m430 , 2.27 GHz with 6 G of ram now.When I looked at the Device Manager. I saw at Other devices : Base System Device Base System Device Base System Device Network Controller Unknown device Unknown device. All have yellow triangle. I tried to install a driver, the Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller Driver but after the installation it gives me the next message : The Realtek Network Controller was not found.If Deep Sleep Mode is enabled Please Plug the Cable.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have been dealing with this for a while now, and it just happened out of no where. I turned on my computer one morning and it wouldnt allow me to connect to my wifi. I have tried EVERYTHING. My computer does allow me to connect an ethernet cord to it and the router and use the internet that way. I know it's not the router because I use the internet on my iPhone and tablet. When I attempt to connect to internet it has a red X where the wireless icon used to be, now the icon looks like a computer screen instead the the little bars. When I tap my wireless button on my key pad a message comes up and notifies me that i just turned my wireless connection off, but no matter if it's off or on that little button always has the orange light on. I can't figure out whats going on

I have a Windows 7 HP Pavilion dv7. I can use the internet 2 different ways - through AOL or through Internet Explorer. It works fine going through AOL. But when I go directly thru Internet Explorer, I get the dreaded Blue Screen. I have gotten a messsage to upgrade to Internet Explorer 11, but when I try to do that, I get the Blue Screen.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI just received a dual band Time Warner Cable router that I want to wirelessly connect with my HP Pavilion dv6t-6c00 CTO Quad Edition Entertainment Notebook PC that I had for 2 and a half years now. The laptop has no trouble seeing and connecting to the 2.4 Ghz band, but does not even see 5Ghz. I tried playing around with the router settings, but had no luck this far. I believe that it should be able to see it, but I'm not 100% sure. Whether I need to update my drivers or anything for it to be able to connect to 5G? Or perhaps purchase a new network card or adapter? Or am I out of luck connecting it to 5G?

it said that the bluetooth driver isn't installed although i've installed " Ralink Bluetooth Software Driver " , But was no new !! This is device manager after installing it :
there is no bluetooth driver installed !!
then i've downloaded " Qualcomm Atheros Bluetooth 4.0+HS Driver for Microsoft Windows 8 " & tried installing it , then i got this massage :
Note That :
- at first , all mentioned above occured but bluetooth was working ( sanding & Recieving ) .. But now all the above occured in addition , bluetooth went out and no longer working.
- i've tried "hp Support Assistant" for updating my devices and it can't detect that bluetooth isn't installed.
- you can see in the picture of device manager an " Unknown Device" and when i tried automatic online search for device , there is nothing !!

Up until yesterday I could print from both the desktop and laptop. My printer is a HPC310 All in One. I can print from the desktop but not the laptop. Laptop is Windows 7 professional 64 bit. When I click on printer on my laptop it shows 5 items waiting to be printed. I have made no changes and all worked fine until yesterday. Today I finally e-mailed myself a document from my laptop - opened the e-mail on the desktop and printed it out.

I have been using softwares like Connectify and MyPublicWifi for quite some time now for hotspots, but all of a sudden since yesterday I'm not able to connect to the hotspot from my Windows Phone 8.1 device. I tried connect an Android Phone that didn't work either. I kept recieving a notification saying "Wifi network did not respond. Try again later". It seems like its some problem from the laptop and not the devices trying to connect to it.I tried rebooting the laptop multiple times, uninstalling and reinstalling the hotspot softwares and even created a hotspot using CMD. Even after all this I keep recieving the same message of network not responding. I checked the network adapters for any hardware changes, the drivers showed that they were functioning properly. I'm trying to share the internet from Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller.
I mentioned in the subject my laptop won't start. I checked forums here and tried the offered solutions but nothing. My AC works fine, green light turns on when I plug it, and stays the same when I plug it to laptop. Laptop doesn't make any sounds...my led for battery on laptop doesn't work when I plug it on AC.

My workplace installed a router a few months ago. It's a Cisco E2000. My laptop will not recognize the wireless signal from the router. It recognizes about 10 other wireless signals from other locations outside the office. My phone also recognizes the router and can connect to it no problem. I've installed all the updates for Windows 7 and for the HP laptop. I've also installed the latest driver for the wifi card in the laptop.

I have had this laptop for a few months now but have never really had to use WiFi - now I need WiFi I find the laptop will not connect to my router, it also displays no WiFi networks. I have opened Device Manager/Network Adapters and the wireless adapter is apparently up to date and working correctly. The adapter is a Realtek RTL8188EE 802.11b/g/n Wi Fi Adapter. The laptop is just a few paces away from the router so should easily receive the signal, my Android shows the router signal strength at 100% with a speed of 150Mbps. Why the laptop will not connect to WiFi ....
HP Pavilion dv9830us Notebook. A few years ago this laptop got jostled while configuring updates. Ultimately, had to use recovery to get it up and running and it's never been fully right since. One thing I've noticed is that I now have an additional start button stacked on top on the original. Is this because I did a recovery?

Router: D-Link Dual Band AC1000 2.5GHz & 5GHz bands DIR-810L
I set up the router and worked out the kinks and updated the software. My laptop finds and connects with the 2.5GHz Band anywhere in the house. My laptop does not even find or see the 5GHz Band. However my Galaxy Tablet finds both bands and can connect with both, thought the 5GHz seems weaker.
I noticed that my Galaxy Tablet finds a lot more wi fi networks than my laptop (that are in houses around the street). I believe my laptop should find the 5Ghz Band and be able to connect. So I'm hoping this is a software or driver issue, and just a setting that needs to be adjusted. I don't know much about Wi Fi drivers, but I"m a Vista survivor, so I should be able to solve this.
I don't even know what program runs the WiFi software on my laptop? Or where to find it?
I've recently get support from HP team and installed my original windows 7 home premium using my product key. Then installed updates of Wireless, Internet and Home Network, but within a short period, my laptop get stuck and no keyboard could not work at all except power on/off button. Then I installed my original windows 7 home premium and it was, I can access although I could not installed any other programs and my personal ducoment.

I have an HP Pavilion g6-1d73us laptop and although my headphones work properly the speakers do not. This is a recent problem. I have tried troubleshooting with windows troubleshooter with no results. I have checked all the drivers for audio and they check out fine. I have tried driver software with no success. my Laptop computer switches off unexpectecdly (without warning) when on battery, at times without getting to Low Battery Level or the Critical Level. when i do HP Battery Check with HP Support Assistant on my laptop, the result i get is my Battery is good.
Another issue i am having is that my Laptop doesnt go to sleep after some minutes of idleness as it was set to do on battery or plugged in to power. any information i can get on resolving these issues.

I have a Hp pavilion dv6700 series (dv6840el) and it just won't boot without the battery attached.
If i plug the AC adapter, i get some computer activity (fan, dvd drive noise and HD drive spins) for about 5 seconds and then shuts down.
Once i plug the battery (which is dying, needing a replacement), the laptop boots fine.
So, my question is: is this a motherboard or an AC adapter issue?
The AC adapter seems ok, though. But if i'm considering to buy a spare battery, i must make sure that i don't need a new AC adapter as well.
I have an HP Pavilion dv5 2135dx and all of a sudden all of my icons and programs display as a blank internet explorer page and when I try to open them they show as a save as download .lnk file.
