View 12 RepliesOk. My laptop won't connect to the internet. It connectes to the wifi fine but will not connect to the internet. I tried hardwiring and that won't work either. All other devices connect fine. I uninstalled that and it worked fine. I am unable to find that now. The router is a Verizon Fios / Actiontec router M142RWR.
I am running windows 7.
I am having some troubles. Inspiron 15 N5040. The hardwire connection works, and the modem connects wirelessly to other devices, such as my Apple itouch and my roomate's laptop; but when my laptop tries to connect it says Unidentified network, no internet access. I have been editting setting and trying everything i can think of for?
View 12 Replies View RelatedLast week I purchased a dell laptop on line and received it one day after the shipping notification. That's the good news. During the setup process everything went well except the wireless connection. The laptop was connecting to the router intermittantly and now will not connect at all. I have checked every setting I know of and talked with my internet provider last night to see if they may be the problem. All the people I have talked with tell me that the problem is most likely the Intel Centrion wireless-N 1030 card and site issues documented on other sites.
My attempt to get information from dell on Sunday evening was a nitemare and so I sent an email via customer service but have not yet received a reply. Here is my gripe. This is a new laptop and I should not have to find a fix for this problem. Also, I am computer literate to a point and don't feel I should have to spend my whole weekend "trying" to get a wireless connection on a new machine. It usually takes seconds. I am trying this forum to see if I can get some answers but honestly I will probably return the laptop that is if I can find the spot on the dell website that will let me request that.
My dell Inspiron n5010 stopped connecting to the internet. When I'd connect to my wifi it says limited connectivity. So I followed some old posts, rebooted, checked wifi key and finally Uninstalled the wifi drivers but now I can't reinstall them since I cannot connect to the internet. Im totally stuck and confused. Do I have any options?
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy problem is that my daughters 1525 says it is plugged in but not charging. I have tried various Dell and Universal chargers with no change. I have also replaced the battery and the only noticeabl change is that with the new battery by blinking amber lights have stopped. I assume that means the battery was bad. But I still have the issue with it saying it is plugged in but not charging.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI purchased a Dell Inspiron 1525 in April 2008.About 1 month ago I noticed that my computer would automaticaly shut down when the power cord was removed, I hovered over the battery icon in the bottom right corner and it said 0% available plugged in, not charging.
I googled the phrase plugged in, not charging and realised lots of people were having the same problem.I have tried restarting and shutting down my computer (with and without battery and with and without power cord) removing and replacing my battery (while laptop is on and off) a replacement battery from Dell my sister's battery and power cord (she also has a 1525)in my laptop and get the message plugged in, not charging. My battery in her laptop will charge but my power cord in her laptop says plugged in, not charging
removing the battery with the laptop on then restarting the laptop and replacing the battery uninstalling and reinstalling the Power Management Software switching between power plans flashing with current bios
All 3 batteries (hers, my original and my replacement) have adequate charge (50% or higher)I run with Windows Vista Home edition.I have been to the local Dell distributer and they tell me to call Dell. I have tried calling Dell but I keep getting put on hold for 30+ minutes.
After connecting to the internet on my laptop(Dell inspiron 1525, Windows Vista), the internet connection will work great for 5 minutes or less than it slows down drastically or essentially not working at all. If I disconnect and reconnect it will work again but just for a short amount of time. The wireless connection works great on other laptops, tablets and mobile. I have Mcafee antivirus, and it could not detect any malware or viruses. Tried restoring the computer to factory settings and the internet stays connected for what seem a few minutes longer.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy new Inspiron is having an issue with connecting to my home wifi. The router (UPC TC 7200 U) is set to 5 GHz on Channel 40 with n-standard and delivers a strong signal on all other devices that are connected.According to the product description the Inspiron 7000 should have no problems finding this network as it has a dual-band wifi card. The issue also doesn't lie with the router as other new devices that I brought to my home can find and connect to the network without any problems.I downloaded and installed the current intel and dell drivers for the wifi card; still I cannot find the 5GHz network on my new dell.

I have had my Dell Inspiron 1525 for around two years. For the past month, when my power supply is plugged in, the battery does not charge. It has been stuck on 3% and will automatically shut down when unplugged.
I have seen that this is a very common problem, however, when hovering over the battery icon it says: plugged in, CHARGING, where as all of the other posts that I have seen say: plugged in, NOT charging.
I have tried taking the battery out and restarting but this did not work. I also drained my battery and tried to recharge but again, this did not work. My initial thought is that I may need a new battery but I just wanted to check first.
I have a Dell Inspiron 1764 about a month ago it started having internet problems. I have ruled out the problems being related to the actual internet service. I have excellent wifi signal and yet my laptop constantly connects and disconnects. The length of time varies. Some days I get to be on the net while others I dont at all. I have run diagnostics, downloaded darn near every update imaginable.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Dell Inspiron N4110, which I recently installed a new windows on. I can't seem to connect to the internet. Before the new installation the WIFI worked fine, but now even connecting through ethernet doesn't work. I looked through my Network drivers and there are only two.
I've tried download and installing others but no hope.
I just bought a Dell 1710 laptop with a wireless card but no internal modem. I have an old desktop that connects to the internet by dial-up.
(This is the only option for me right now because I live in the boonies!) I want to be able to connect to the internet with my laptop and be able to move around the house.
Do I need a modem & router? I can't seem to find a router with a built-in modem. How do I connect it all? Desktop>>>>>router>>>>modem>>>laptop?
I bought a new Lenovo Z50-70 laptop from [URL]
Following are the laptop configuration: Quick link:
Intel Core i7-4510U 2GHz Processor1TB Hybrid HDD8GB DDR3L 1600 Memory15.6" 1920x1080 LED Glossy WedgeIntel HD Graphics 5000Bluetooth 4.0Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3160DVD Recordable (Dual Layer)4-Cell Lithium-Ion BatteryWindows 8.1 (64-Bit)Initial setup went well. After 4 hours or so while surfing webpages, suddenly it started showing no internet connection and asked to reload webpages. So I looked at the wireless network icon on the bottom right corner which showed full bars. A few seconds later a yellow colored triangle with exclamation mark appeared on the network icon showing no internet and limited internet.
After turning the wifi off and back on the internet connects and works for few hours. After few hours, it lost internet connectivity again with the same above symptoms. I have this laptop now for 3 days and in past 3 days I had this problem at least 25 times.
I have just received my new XPS15 4 days ago, and when I first switched it on it was fine. After 2 day, with the charger plugged in. A message shown on setup screen saying "Charger is plugged in but not charging." I have checked the charger it is definitely a 130W charger, and the LED on the cable is on constant. After window started, same message shown up again. but the battery icon was shown charging, and the battery was showing 100%. So is this a software issue, or hardware? As I have seen may other user are experiencing the same problem.
I have checked the plug was connected correctly.
I bought this inspiron 15r 5521. Its approx 2 year old. There was warning in battery status in the PC checkup. Few days afterwards the laptop did not start up. I searched and did a hard reset..BUT when i shut it down or hibernate . again its like dead and i have to plug in the power cord for 20 min and do a hard reset to turn it on . It also happens that if i shut down while the power cord is plugged and i take it out and again plug it , it stops charging..(again need a hard reset).
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've just reinstalled my OS because my computer was being really slow. anyways, i've installed the ethernet and wireless card drives,
but i can't access the internet wirelessly. when, i plug in the ethernet cable, it works, but when i use wireless, it just connects to my router,
but says it cant access the internet. i remember fixing it by calling comcast, but it took quite awhile ....
I have recently purchased Dell Inspiron 15R 5521N laptop with Windows 8 Pro. When I try to connect my laptop to an Acer monitor with an HDMI cable, it gives me a no signal error. But when the same laptop is connected to a Philips monitor using the same cable, it works perfectly. As usual I thought that the monitor was the culprit, but when I connected another laptop to the Acer monitor using the same cable it worked without any errors. So where does the problem lie. The HDMI cable is OK, the laptop is also OK as also the Acer monitor?

I have connected it directly to the router with the ethernet cord but still no luck. Could it be my Network Card? The lap top was pretty warm on that side also prior to it stop working.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a weird issue which I did not realize until my system was crashed.
I have Inspiron 1525 purchased in sep 2008. Order and original configuration is showing XP whereas recovery CD alongwith was Vista (my mistake was that I did not check the CD until now).
1.Now how should I reimage my laptop with XP?
2.Where to find the OS Key for XP? Will Vista key work for XP or is there anyway I install vista and upgrade to XP?
There is no mail id where I could forward the mail of purchase order and original config details.
My laptop is now very slow and crashes every now and then. So I need to reinstall the Vista Operating System bu the big problem is that the CD/DVD drive is no longer working.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI just purchased an Inspiron 1525 Laptop it came with the 1505 Wireless N-MINI card. I have a wireless network with the Linksys Model# WRK54G. This network is secured.
I set up connection as WPA-Personal with TKIP, this mirrors my Dell desktop that connects, however it is a G level wireless card. I can not connect to the network even though the signal is excellent.
It may be obvious the fact that the wireless card in the laptop is an N an the router is a G. Will this work or do I have to get the 1395 802 11G Mini wireless card
I have a Inspiron 1525. Recently I have tried to watch movies. Soon after the movies start my laptop shutdown. There was a time I could watch movies but not now. It continually shuts down within a few minutes.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a 1525 laptop that wants to stay awake most of the time. I have it set to hibernate when the cover closes. It behaves most of the time, but occasionally it decides to restart instead of hibernating. When it's acting up, it will do the restart if you try to put it in hibernation, sleep or if you try to shut it down. The only way to kill the thing is to do a hard shutdown using the power button. It's annoying to say the least, since you can't just close it and walk away. If it restarts with the cover closed, it gets way too hot.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have recieved at work a lenovo t440 notebook, everything worked fine, untill one day I noticed that I cannot conect to the internet via lan cable. I plug in the cable and it is not detected. I checked the cable to another notebook and it was working. I have a Intel Ethernet Connection I218-LM controller, I have re-installed both network drivers from lenovo and intel websites and nothing works. I've tried as well to get automatically from windows update, no result. Went to bios cheked if the lan connection is enabled, everything was in place. Is there anything I missed? I noticed a weird behaviour, if I connect through wireless network, after sometime the lan connection is established and I can use it, but without wireless connection it doesn't work.
View 5 Replies View RelatedMy z500 cannot boot up without power cable plugged in. Usually,a few seconds after I saw the lenovo logo, the system will suddenly shut down just like the battery was removed.however,if I connect powercable to the laptop and power on,everything is fine,I can enter windows 8,or ubuntu, after I enter OS,I can disconnect the power cable without any problems.the battery is healthy and can last for more than 2 hours.
So far I tried the following methods:
1.update BIOS
2.update battery firmware
3.reset BIOS
none of them worked for me....
Everytime I try and multitask on the internet my laptop freezes and I am forced to shut it down. Before it only happened while I was multi tasking but now it's getting a lot worser. It often freezes while I'm waiting for a YouTube video to load and now while I was in the process of posting a thread right here about this issue! I did some research online and run into two possible problems; overheating and video graphics card.It can't be overheating because my fan is working fine and I just ran a diagnostic.
As for the video graphics card, I did play around the settings last week after I installed a game called Elder Scrolls V:Skyrim. I configured by entire computer to run on high performance but now I've reverted this change and the freezing still happens. What I can tell you is that while I'm playing the game for over an hour, the laptop doesn't freeze at all. It only freezes now while I'm on the internet for at least more than 20-30 minutes or even less. I'm on Safe Mode with Networking right now as I'm typing.
Laptop specifications:
Inspiron 15R Windows 7 Home Premium Service Pack 1 64 Bit
Processor: Intel Core i5 2410M @2.30 GHz
Ram: 4 GB
Graphics: Integrated Graphics 3000 with switchable NVIDIA GT 525 GeForce.
What could be the problem with my screen? I have these vertical lines that are multi-colored!! Has my computer crashed? If so can I get my information off the hard drive, and how much does that normally cost?
View 4 Replies View Related I have a Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop with a Intel Celeron Processor and the past year my cpu has been overheating and eventually causing my laptop to shutoff. This happens a lot quicker if playing graphics intensive games or playing youtube videos. I want a processor that can handle playing games and videos.
Also, one thing I was thinking was that maybe a fan stopped working that is causing the CPU to over heat but when I run a Dell diagnostic no errors come up about a fan not working, so I'm thinking I just need to upgrade.
