Dell Inspiron 1525 :: Cpu Has Been Overheating And Eventually Causing Laptop To Shut Off

Oct 29, 2011

I have a Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop with a Intel Celeron Processor and the past year my cpu has been overheating and eventually causing my laptop to shutoff. This happens a lot quicker if playing graphics intensive games or playing youtube videos. I want a processor that can handle playing games and videos.

Also, one thing I was thinking was that maybe a fan stopped working that is causing the CPU to over heat but when I run a Dell diagnostic no errors come up about a fan not working, so I'm thinking I just need to upgrade.

Below is my System info:

System ModelInspiron 1525System TypeX86-based PCProcessorIntel(R) Celeron(R) CPU
560 @ 2.13GHz, 2128 Mhz, 1 Core(s), 1 Logical Processor(s)
Socket 479 mPGA
Motherboard model OU990C Chipset Intel GM965
BIOS Version/DateDell Inc. A16, 10/16/2008SMBIOS Version2.4

I have to upgrade the CPU in the Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop?

Acer :: Aspire 5755g-6823 Overheating Causing Inconvenient Shutdowns

Feb 28, 2015

it's happened in the past while gaming, but not as much as recently. while carrying the laptop recently I believe I broke the fan somehow and it's causing it to overheat even more. I believe the best choice is probably replacing the fan, but I've found it is extremely difficult to find the exact fan in my laptop. How compatible does the fan have to be to be replaced? Is it absolutely necessary to replace the fan?

Dell Inspiron 5521 :: All Downloads Eventually Slow To A Stop

Dec 21, 2014

I've run into a problem where every file I download will start normally, then slow to a stop (0 kB/s), and never start back up or continue. Depending on the internet's download speed, this makes it impossible to download files larger than 25-50 MB. This problem has persisted on four different networks and in both Google Chrome and Internet Explorer, so I've determined it's neither a network nor a browser issue. It started where it would only affect about 75% of downloaded files, but now it affects every single one. Although, I can still download large amounts of data through other sources (I downloaded a 25 GB game on Steam with no problem).

Dell Inspiron 1525 :: How To Make Reimage Of Laptop With XP

Jan 25, 2013

I have a weird issue which I did not realize until my system was crashed.

I have Inspiron 1525 purchased in sep 2008. Order and original configuration is showing XP whereas recovery CD alongwith was Vista (my mistake was that I did not check the CD until now).

1.Now how should I reimage my laptop with XP?

2.Where to find the OS Key for XP? Will Vista key work for XP or is there anyway I install vista and upgrade to XP?

There is no mail id where I could forward the mail of purchase order and original config details.

Dell :: 1505 Wireless N-Mini For Inspiron 1525 Laptop

Jan 2, 2009

I just purchased an Inspiron 1525 Laptop it came with the 1505 Wireless N-MINI card. I have a wireless network with the Linksys Model# WRK54G. This network is secured.

I set up connection as WPA-Personal with TKIP, this mirrors my Dell desktop that connects, however it is a G level wireless card. I can not connect to the network even though the signal is excellent.

It may be obvious the fact that the wireless card in the laptop is an N an the router is a G. Will this work or do I have to get the 1395 802 11G Mini wireless card

Dell Inspiron 1525 :: Laptop Restarts Instead Of Hibernating Or Shutting Down

Dec 20, 2009

I have a 1525 laptop that wants to stay awake most of the time.  I have it set to hibernate when the cover closes.  It behaves most of the time, but occasionally it decides to restart instead of hibernating.  When it's acting up, it will do the restart if you try to put it in hibernation, sleep or if you try to shut it down.  The only way to kill the thing  is to do a hard shutdown using the power button. It's annoying to say the least, since you can't just close it and walk away.  If it restarts with the cover closed, it gets way too hot.

I have a inspiron 1545 laptop, and every now and then randomly it turns itself off. I think it's overheating, but don't know how to adjust the fan speeds (if you can) and i took the back off and cleaned round the fan, so it's not blocked up. It might be something else causing it to turn off i'm not too sure.

I can't go into the safe mode, it only goes as far as loading the files. I tried booting from the cd to do a repair but that options says there are no problems. I attached an external monitor and I get the same black screen with the white cursor. I am running Vista Home as my operating system.

Dell Inspiron 5720 :: Intel HD Graphics 4000 Driver Causing System To Freeze

Jul 14, 2013

I bought a manufacturer refurbished Inspiron 5720, i7 3612QM, 8GB RAM.  The BIOS is currently A12.  When I received it, it had a bad hard drive.  Dell sent me a new hard drive under warranty, but it was blank and I had to use a recover CD to reinstall Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.  I have installed every recommended and updated driver for all of my hardware components.  But, everytime I install the HD 4000 drivers, the system starts to freeze up.

The system runs fine with the Standard VGA driver, but I can't run anything that requires better graphics.  I have tried installing every version and they all cause the system to freeze.  Sometimes it freezes during the boot up and sometimes it will run for up to 2 minutes before freezing.  And by freezing, I mean that it just stops working.  Sometime if I let it just sit and wait, it will shut off automatically.  Other times, it just stays frozen for hours and I have to hold down the Power button to turn it off.  When it restarts, it boots to the Safe Mode option screen.  I then have to boot to safe mode and restore the system to a previous recovery state.

Dell Latitude E7440 :: When Turn On Laptop Freeze And Shut Down Automatically - All Test Passed

Dec 16, 2014

I was using my laptop the other day and it froze up. Then it shut down by itself. When I tried booting it back up, it says "No bootable devices found" and gives me the options to press F1, F2 or F5 for retrying, setup utility and diagnostics. I ran the diagnostics and it says "All tests passed". The SSD also seems to be recognized as it shows it in the "configuration" tab in diagnostics. I have also tried taking the msata SSD from the 2.5" bay and moving it to the msata slot. Rebooted but shows the same thing. Is this a known issue and is there a fix for this?

Dell XPS 15 L502x :: Laptop Overheating - CPU Temperature Starts At 50C And Rises Consistently

Dec 3, 2012

Essentially the issue is that the cpu temperature starts at 50C and rises consistently to around 79C on IDLE. GPU is around 55-60. This continues until eventually the computer shuts off for safety reasons. Needless to say, no strenuous activities can happen on this computer. (games, etc.)

Things I've done:

-Updated the chipset, both video drivers (nvidia and intel), and the bios
-Opened up the entire thing and cleaned out the fan and any other areas that had dust (which was little).
-Removed the original thermal compound and reapplied a fresh and appropriate layer to the GPU AND CPU

Windows 7 Professional, ACPI x64-based PC
Intel Core i7-2630QM CPU @ 2.00 GHz

I use my laptop always on bed or lap. is a cooling pad must?
P.S. the reason why i took it for servicng is that it showed thermal shutdown messages everytime i was rebooting it.

I've learned to check Programs and sure enough several were installed I did not download. I removed them and still shutting down. Finally Symantec found a trojan and cleaned it. Running so softly now I cannot hear it. I am worried that overheating may have damaged the thermal grease that protects it. Should I take it to a computer shop and what service should they do?
