I have a Inspiron 1525. Recently I have tried to watch movies. Soon after the movies start my laptop shutdown. There was a time I could watch movies but not now. It continually shuts down within a few minutes.
View 1 Replies I have a Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop with a Intel Celeron Processor and the past year my cpu has been overheating and eventually causing my laptop to shutoff. This happens a lot quicker if playing graphics intensive games or playing youtube videos. I want a processor that can handle playing games and videos.
Also, one thing I was thinking was that maybe a fan stopped working that is causing the CPU to over heat but when I run a Dell diagnostic no errors come up about a fan not working, so I'm thinking I just need to upgrade.

I have to upgrade the CPU in the Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop?
Inspiron 17R N7110 has no power, I was watching movie and the laptop just froze, after waiting a few minutes I performed a hard power reset, machine was restarting, abruptly shut off and has been dead since.
Tried the power reset by removing the battery and holding the power button for the static discharge ... and so on. No luck. Machine has no lights on front, it is completely dead, battery was 100% charged. Tried two charger cables, both have green lights till I plug them into the machine then green lamps die.
I think it would be the DC power connector or the motherboard... or something else that I have not thought of yet.
I have a dell inspiron 1525. At first it worked great, but now it doesn't want to start up. Once in awhile it'll start and I can use it fine, but other times all it will do is light up, the fan will go and then that's it. There are three locks on the top (number, caps and an arrow down) and they light up. The number lock stays solid but the other two just flash and nothing happens. I have tried turning it on with just the battery; with the battery/AC adapter and with just the AC adapter and nothing seems to work. I called Dell and all they said was that it's not a security lock that's causing it and I didn't want to pay the one time fee of $13...
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Dell Inspiron 15 (N5040) and currently having problems with it. I was watching something this morning and suddenly the screen turned green and then shut off. It turns on but the screen refuses to. I first expected that the screen is just unplugged inside the computer so I tried to hook it up to my TV via Hdmi and oddly it didn't do anything.I took it all apart disconnecting everything and then reconnecting everything. Everything seemed to be in good shape. No signs of shorts. Then after letting it run I noticed it beep 4 times. According to Dell 4 beeps mean "Read/Write error." I don't know if they meant the ram or hdd so I tried isolating both sticks of ram and no difference. I tried putting in two different hdds, nothing different. Even if they were I don't know why the screen wouldn't turn on and the bios wouldn't try to load. I suspect that the gpu is just fried. Dell Inspiron 15 (N5040), Intel i3, 8 gb of ram. Windows 7.

I press the start up power on button and the computer loads the Dell Intel screen and sometimes makes it to the microsoft start up screen. I end up recieving a warning of the battery cannot be identified and this system will be unable to charge this battery. strike F1 to continue, F2 to run the setup utility, Press F5 to run onboard diagnostics.
I have had the laptop and the same battery for almost 5 years. the batery life has been degrading over the last couple years and was to the point of only having 20 minutes of life. I left my laptop in the car for a couple days when it was very cold. I brought the laptop in to back it up onto my external hard drive and notced in the lower right hand corner that the laptop was charging yet their was a red X displaying near the battery. The latop shuts down if i disconnect the power supply.

I have Inspiron 1525 purchased in sep 2008. Order and original configuration is showing XP whereas recovery CD alongwith was Vista (my mistake was that I did not check the CD until now).
1.Now how should I reimage my laptop with XP?
2.Where to find the OS Key for XP? Will Vista key work for XP or is there anyway I install vista and upgrade to XP?
There is no mail id where I could forward the mail of purchase order and original config details.
My laptop is now very slow and crashes every now and then. So I need to reinstall the Vista Operating System bu the big problem is that the CD/DVD drive is no longer working.

Tried windows software to find problem and it couldn't work either. It worked just 10 mins before it happened. It is a windows 8 pro OS. HL-DT-ST DVDRWBD CA10N is the drive windows calls it.

I set up connection as WPA-Personal with TKIP, this mirrors my Dell desktop that connects, however it is a G level wireless card. I can not connect to the network even though the signal is excellent.
It may be obvious the fact that the wireless card in the laptop is an N an the router is a G. Will this work or do I have to get the 1395 802 11G Mini wireless card
I have a 1525 laptop that wants to stay awake most of the time. I have it set to hibernate when the cover closes. It behaves most of the time, but occasionally it decides to restart instead of hibernating. When it's acting up, it will do the restart if you try to put it in hibernation, sleep or if you try to shut it down. The only way to kill the thing is to do a hard shutdown using the power button. It's annoying to say the least, since you can't just close it and walk away. If it restarts with the cover closed, it gets way too hot.

I tried to use the last known good configuration and it started out fine but I got the black screen again. I can't go into the safe mode, it only goes as far as loading the files. I tried booting from the cd to do a repair but that options says there are no problems. I attached an external monitor and I get the same black screen with the white cursor. I am running Vista Home as my operating system.

Will not start but I can hear the fan start then stop after a couple of secs, also the power and hdd leds flash on for 4 secs and then off for 4 secs and keep looping.
But then if I press the on/off button to turn the machine off it will not turn off, even holding the button for 4 secs or more. The only way to turn it off is by disconnecting the battery.
Nothing is connected and nothing appears on the screen.
About three months ago I was using my laptop and it was working fine and I closed it and set it aside, not plugged in. My power settings were that nothing happened other than the screen turns off when I close the lid. Well the next day I went to use my laptop and i opened it and hit the power button but it was dead, so I plugged it in and pressed the power button and still nothing happened. The only way I can turn the laptop on is to use the small battery reset button on the back of the computer. Once it turns on it starts up no problem, nothing out of the ordinary. When I use it and try to shut it down regardless of whether I press the power button or go to the power button on the menu to shut it down it goes through the shutdown and the monitor shuts off for about 3 seconds and then the computer turns back on.
I have done everything I can think of to get the computer to work. I have reinstalled windows 8.1 from a disk after completely restoring my laptop. I opened the computer up and disconnected the battery for a few minutes, I tried to start the laptop in safe mode, I reinstalled the BIOS, I have run all the troubleshooting and run windows update to make sure everything is up to date.
My Inspiron M5030 laptop was working perfectly fine last night. It was plugged in all night, and I had done the usual hibernate/sleep mode before going to bed. When I tried to start it up this morning, the screen remained black. It made the startup fan noise but then that stopped. Then it gave seven quite loud beeps. If I don't turn it off, it continues to give the seven beeps separated by a short break.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Ferrari 5000 ZC3. It quit working, all was working fine it shut down itself and now it wont start at all, I only have a black screen. All that lit's up is the power button. the Numlock and caps lock led lights up about .5 sec. the hdd light lights up for about 5 seconds. when the power button is pressed again it goes off immediately.
To eliminate a hdd failure I have removed the hdd and powered up without the hard drive installed, no change at all besides that the hdd led doesn't light up.
I am currently using windows 8 as my OS. When I attempt to start my laptop the Dell logo flashes on the screen and the screen turns blank/black and sits there for a few min before displaying an empty bar and F12 Boot Options in the bottom right hand corner.
I have attempted to press F12 to try and load windows in safe mode but everything is frozen at this point.
Is there a way to determine if its a hardware issue or windows issue. When I searched for the issue I found some with a similar issue but the link provided for support was no longer valid

i was watching family guy in the kitchen today and when i plugged the laptop back into the AC adapter it just shut down,
i attempted to restart but it will not boot up at all ive attempted to take the battery out and then try with that however nothing happens at all any ideas on what ive done and how to fix it?
I have a xps 13 l322x that won't boot up. It shut down after battery died, it was plugged in to charge and it won't turn back on.
When power button is pressed the LED in front of the touch pad blinks once.
The F12 with the power key does the BIST and the colors show up.
The Fn key with power key does nothing.
