I just bought a Dell 1710 laptop with a wireless card but no internal modem. I have an old desktop that connects to the internet by dial-up.
(This is the only option for me right now because I live in the boonies!) I want to be able to connect to the internet with my laptop and be able to move around the house.
Do I need a modem & router? I can't seem to find a router with a built-in modem. How do I connect it all? Desktop>>>>>router>>>>modem>>>laptop?
Last week I purchased a dell laptop on line and received it one day after the shipping notification. That's the good news. During the setup process everything went well except the wireless connection. The laptop was connecting to the router intermittantly and now will not connect at all. I have checked every setting I know of and talked with my internet provider last night to see if they may be the problem. All the people I have talked with tell me that the problem is most likely the Intel Centrion wireless-N 1030 card and site issues documented on other sites.
My attempt to get information from dell on Sunday evening was a nitemare and so I sent an email via customer service but have not yet received a reply. Here is my gripe. This is a new laptop and I should not have to find a fix for this problem. Also, I am computer literate to a point and don't feel I should have to spend my whole weekend "trying" to get a wireless connection on a new machine. It usually takes seconds. I am trying this forum to see if I can get some answers but honestly I will probably return the laptop that is if I can find the spot on the dell website that will let me request that.
My dell Inspiron n5010 stopped connecting to the internet. When I'd connect to my wifi it says limited connectivity. So I followed some old posts, rebooted, checked wifi key and finally Uninstalled the wifi drivers but now I can't reinstall them since I cannot connect to the internet. Im totally stuck and confused. Do I have any options?
I am having some troubles. Inspiron 15 N5040. The hardwire connection works, and the modem connects wirelessly to other devices, such as my Apple itouch and my roomate's laptop; but when my laptop tries to connect it says Unidentified network, no internet access. I have been editting setting and trying everything i can think of for?
I have a Probook 4520, and the operating system is Windows 7, I am having a problem getting connected to the internet, all other laptops are working in the household. I have connected it directly to the router with the ethernet cord but still no luck. Could it be my Network Card? The lap top was pretty warm on that side also prior to it stop working.Â
Ok. My laptop won't connect to the internet. It connectes to the wifi fine but will not connect to the internet. I tried hardwiring and that won't work either. All other devices connect fine. I uninstalled that and it worked fine. I am unable to find that now. The router is a Verizon Fios / Actiontec router M142RWR.  I am running windows 7.
I bought a new Lenovo Z50-70 laptop from [URL] Â Following are the laptop configuration: Quick link:Â
Intel Core i7-4510U 2GHz Processor1TB Hybrid HDD8GB DDR3L 1600 Memory15.6" 1920x1080 LED Glossy WedgeIntel HD Graphics 5000Bluetooth 4.0Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3160DVD Recordable (Dual Layer)4-Cell Lithium-Ion BatteryWindows 8.1 (64-Bit)Initial setup went well. After 4 hours or so while surfing webpages, suddenly it started showing no internet connection and asked to reload webpages. So I looked at the wireless network icon on the bottom right corner which showed full bars. A few seconds later a yellow colored triangle with exclamation mark appeared on the network icon showing no internet and limited internet.  After turning the wifi off and back on the internet connects and works for few hours. After few hours, it lost internet connectivity again with the same above symptoms. I have this laptop now for 3 days and in past 3 days I had this problem at least 25 times.Â
Taskbar icon for Gigabit Network Connection shows "No Internet Access". Â But Internet access works fine. Â But, since the driver thinks there is no access, I have to disable WiFi to force the laptop to use the wired LAN. Â Device Manager says everyhting works fine. Â Driver update says I have the latest driver (12.10.29.0 dated 2014-05-02). Â My T430 with the same adapter works fine. Â What do I do? Â Only difference between T530 and T430 is the T530 is in a dock.
I have a Dell Xps 1530 with a 1920 x 1080 display. I connected it to my 40" Samsung LCD 720p using an HDMI cable, but its not as crisp as I have seen such connections be at stores. For example the text isn't crisp at all.
Also, I heard that if I connect through an HDMI cable that sound should also be transferred, but when I play something from the laptop the sound comes from the xps rather than the TV.
i have a dell studio 1535, work very well, at home anyway, connection wise. I am with virgin media, when i go to my GF place or work or anywhere i can't connect to any wireless network,
Don't have any problem at home to connect.
I managed to find that the internet IP ping failed when running a connection diagnostic.
I somehow disconnected or broke something in my Inspiron 1150.
I was trying to clean my fan out.
I cracked it open & blew it out because I couldn't seem to completely opening it & then when I turned it on afterward the screen did not come on yet you can see that the notebook is on.
i have recently purchased an lg 42 inch lh3000 full hd 1080p tv to connect to my xps m1530.
i have also just downloaded the newest driver for my 8600gt. i have linked the two with a vga cable and my problem is that i cant get it to output 1920x1080 resolution even though other people seem to be saying it is possible.
in the nvidia control panel the highest resolution i can get the laptop screen to show is 1440x900 (the native screen resolution) and with the tv plugged in the highest it will take is this same resolution.
I was wanting to connect my laptop Dell Latitude E6500 to my LG 32" LCD TV. The TV has HDMI ports and my Latitude E6500 only comes with a VGA out. I thought a 2m VGA to HDMI cable would suffice but when I select the HDMI input on the TV I get the No Signal message.
If I check the Desktop->Screen resolution properties, my LG TV shows up in the Display dropdown.
I have tried changing the resolution for the TV but it always shows the No Signal message.
I just bought this Ultrabook the other day and I travel for business. While at home, I tested the mini-display port output with my TV and it projected my laptop screen perfectly. Now I am on the road at a client site and their Epson projector will not recognize my computer's output (or more likely my computer won't recognize their projector, since other people have no problem connecting to this same projector).
XPS 13... I've tried both duplicating and extending my screen to the projector with no success. I can't find anything about this problem by doing a Google search...
When I configured my Vostro , I thought I would be happy plugging in my dongle when I want , so I skipped the bluetooth !
And now , the bright little piece jutting out seems a bit of a distraction.
In my vostro , the internal bluetooth connector is just above the keyboard , and connecting is a snap , and the original module aint that expensive either , but ....
Possibly off topic, but it is related to a Dell Precision (workstation..)
A message that you don't want to see on your main file server..."TERMINAL DISK FAILURE"... Happily, I just pull the borked disk out and stick in a spare (of the wrong capacity, but hey...) whilst awaiting the arrival of a replacement...and all is well
I have a studio xps 16 with the Radeon 4670. When I connect my laptop to my 37 inch HDTV via HDMI, the image does not fill up the TV screen. Is there any way I can adjust the resolution?
Also I have downloaded a couple of 1080p movies, but again they do not fill up the TV's screen, and don't look as stunning.
I don't understand why it wouldn't fill up the TV since if you burn the movie onto a blu-ray disk or dvd, it would look stunning on the HDTV.
basically I am thinking of connecting an extra monitor (19', 20' 22' ?) to my Dell Inspiron 1300 which has Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 900... how do I go about this?
Well on my way out to the apple store I decided to run up a few competing monitors and find the 30" Dell with higher specs, HDCP S-IPS panel with 6 inputs (even has display port) for EXACTLY 1599...which is the SAME student discount price for the 30 cinema. Spec wise the Dell is better...in reality, I don't know because I can't go see it.
My question is has anyone connected a macbook or macbook pro to this display?
Irecently bought a new AOC monitor 6 months ago and it worked flawlessly up to two weeks ago when it suddenly stopped working with this laptop. monitor still works great through HDMI with my brothers mac and with a seperate Blu ray player also via HDMI. so its not the monitor or cable that is causing the problem.Â
the driver for the monitor is installed correctly and all the extra graphics drivers such as nvidia have been uninstalled and still the screen shows 'no signal'
I suspect the issue is with the HDMI driver which i have not been able to find a driver for (i recently reformatted my laptop and had to re-install all drivers even for USB ports and mouse ) however reformatting the laptop was done in an attempt to solve this issue.Â
I have had this model for about 2 weeks and the bluetooth was working fine on setup, although now when I try to connect to my phone even though I had already added my phone as a device it seems to have been removed and the bluetooth just will not find any devices whatsoever. Previously my phone would find the laptop under the name I had given but now when finding it, it comes up as PC Controller App v1.4. , but still no response on laptop. I have run a diagnostic on the wifi and all seems to be ok.
i already use a wireless tether to my cell phone as a modem. works great, but when i try to sync btooth i get "not supported by windows" I checked windows support .it says that btooth is in the sware
I own a Inspiron 3521, and about 6 months after I bought the system my Bluetooth stopped working, I search for devices, and the only device that shows up is my LGP-769 cell phone, and none of my Bluetooth headsets or other audio devices. However after pairing I cannot establish any kind of connection with the device. My Bluetooth icon still appears in the system tray but the settings will not open, even in the Device Manager the phone reads as a normal Bluetooth device. I've tried updating the drivers, but whenever I try to install a new driver it says that the OS is not compatible, even though it is for Windows 8 64-bit, and from the Dell website. I have searched every form and looked into every possible system setting, and no one seems to be having luck finding a solution to the issue, none of my previous Dell systems have done this.
