HP Pavilion 15-g073nr OS/Software :: Downgrading - PCI Encryption / Decryption Controller And The SM Bus Controller
Jan 17, 2010
After downgrading my hp 15-g073nr notebook PC from the preinstalled Windows 8.1 to Windows 7 64 bit I have the common driver problems others are having and I managed to resolve all but a couple.
I am still missing the following drivers: PCI Encryption/Decryption Controller and the SM Bus Controller.
Had to do a fresh install of Windows 7 Home Premium. After many failed attempts at a recovery, I was able to get an OEM disk and get the install to work. I've gotten everything back up except the pci excryption/decryption controller driver. It is an HP laptop, model 15-g013cl.
Just rebuilt new HP 355 G2 to Win 7 64 bit. The ONLY driver I can not locate or get to work is the PCI Encryption/Decryption Controller. I installed all latest drivers for this model/OS from both HP and AMD sites still no luck. AMD autodetect utility and Catalyst software installed all other drivers successfully except this one and when completes says all drivers, including chipset, are installed successfully and current.
I have a ProBook 4535s. I just did a fresh Windows 7 install but I can’t get the USB controller and SM Bus controller drivers to work. I downloaded and installed them from the HP website, but they are still showing yellow in Device Manager.
I tried everything and still need drivers for DV7-6C63NR:
SM Bus Controller
Network Controller
also I cannot get my WiFi adapter to turn on with the button on keyboard - I suspect that it must be my network controller but I cannot locate the driver for it.
But this to "video controller" and "video controller (VGA compatible)" still can't find the way to fix them, I went to dell's drivers download page and the drivers don't fix the problem!!!
I've been told that I need my video controller working so I can put my computer into standby or hibernate, since that option is not working on my computer.
My computer works fine but I really would like to fix this two issues!!!
Ethernet Controller is another device that is not working, but I'm not too worried about it since I can connect to the internet using my wireless card
I have a HP Pavilion g6-1220sa notebook which has A8 AMD and running windows 7 64 bit.
I had to reinstall windows manually as trying to make the machine a dual boot with the win7 and ubuntu resulted in me messing the partitions up. I have managed to do so and been installing/updating all the drivers. But in the device manager, the SM Bus Controller still has a yellow excamation mark next to it.
I've just had to do a clean install of Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit on my HP Pavilion DV6 6024TX notebook.
I've installed all the Recommended and Optional Windows updates and everything is working *except* the SM Bus Controller and USB Controller - which are both showing yellow exclamation marks in the device manager.
I've looked at the forums and it's clear I need to install some new drivers, but I'm not 100% sure *which* drivers to install.
I know this model contains *both* an AMD Radeon 6770M graphics accelerator *and* onboard Intel HD graphics - and it's meant to be switchable between the two, depending on the power profile it's using.
I've looked for the latest drivers on the AMD website and they *don't* support switchable graphics - see:

This AMD support article refers me back to the HP site for the best drivers:[URL]
So, I've looked at the HP driver download page for this model, and there are a few options: [URL]
I am using hp product because of its service is very fast recently I format my notebook with some issue i install all updates but sm controller is missing i also try automatically update but I couldn't find sm bus controller now i m getting very frustated because of sm bus controller. I am using pavilion dv6 6160 and using windows 7 ultimate...
I used HP Support assistant to install my missing drivers ,it keeps failing one 2 drivers. One driver is the SM Bus controler,I understand it is SP55101. I tried to go to the support page and get it but to no avail. Tried several different time with assistant and fails every time. Also Validity sensor sp 55109, fails every time. When I plug in my cable from my iPhone 5 the software for the usb installs at times then it fails also ,very unstable....
My OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit 8 gig memory HP Pavilion dv6-6113cl
I recently downgraded my HP Pavilion TouchSmart 11-e015dx Notebook from Windows 8 to Windows 7. Only Windows 8 drivers are listed under the support page, but they all seemed to install and work just fine. The only problem is that my right two USB 2.0 ports don't work after Windows loads up. There aren't any drivers under the support page and Windows Update can't find them, nor can several driver update programs - It's just listed as an unknown Universal Serial Bus (USB) Controller under the Device Manager.
newtwork controller driver is not installed and wireless is not listed in hp 2000-2116tu".I need to do is list the hardware id's for the network controller. I have a yellow ! in front of the network controller and also two unknown devices listed below the network controller.
The model of my HP Pavillion is 15-b146sa and I'm using Windows 7 ultimate x64 (and I always did). The problem is that when I try to instal any driver, I do it, but a few seconds later it asks me to choose between two options. First one is: Reinstal, using recommended settings Second one is: This program installed correctly.
No matter what I choose, the driver is not installed.

I have a HP Pavilion dv7-6187cl Notebook and my Network Controller has seemed to quit working. I have tried numerous solutions and none of them have worked. I recently did a factory image restore on my PC, but before I did the most recent restore, I did the same thing and tried to update the driver and it worked like a charm. This time, its not so easy.

i have HP PAVILION G7-1201EM os is windows 7 (32-bit) i cant find driver for network controller this message is in network controller propertertis The drivers for this device are not installed.
I am missing the network driver as well and have tried installing it many times but still no luck. I have an HP Pavilion DV7 - 2110sa Laptop running Windows Vista.
Just bought a HP Pavilion Media Center m8530f and had to install original Windows Vista 32 bit operating system. Needless to say SM Bus controller driver is missing.
I had recently performed a clean install on my notebook PC and when I rebooted it, the drivers for the PCI device and the SM BUS Controller were missing. When I go to Device Manager and try to reinstall them or check for hardware changes, my computer is unable to install them. I was also missing my Ethernet and Wireless network drivers but I installed the appropriate drivers via the HP support website. However, I am still missing these two drivers. I have already tried to install the AMD chipset on my laptop but that just creates more problems because after the program asks me to reboot the computer it stays stuck at the Windows loading screen (rotating colours around the Windows logo).
I refreshed my stupid windows 8 cause I was having some weird things pop up on the screen, so I refreshed the system. Now I can't connect to the Internet, and I'm missing all my emails, contacts, favorites, photos and who else knows what. I want answers to everything, but I guess I'll work on the Internet connection first. G72022 model - Radio model rt5390
I downgraded my operating system to windows 7 from Windows 8 on HP Pavilion 17-f012na and wireless network disapeared. Checked for latest drivers nothing available. Then manually looked at HP drivers and support section no drivers available either. What is solution is find correct driver. By the way bluetooth is working.
I have been downgrading my friends computer from Windows 8 to Windows 7 and used driver links from here and everything has worked great so far!! There is only one issue left. I have no driver for SM Bus Controller.
Everything else in device manager is good except for this.
