View 3 RepliesI am so tired of receiving Low Disk Space on recovery (D). I have done everything it asked. Empty Recycle Bin which is EMPTY. I am not a computer wizard but it seems unfair that I have pay over $150.00 year to correct this problem once a year. I have checked a lot of places and it just keeps telling me the same thing. That doesn't work.
I did just install a HP wireless printer 3052A
HP Pavilion dv6000
Windows Vista (home version)
i have a hp 620 notebook, and it is given me an error message "non-system disk or disk error" after i turned it on. it had worked find in the morning and now it is displaying this error message and i cannot log into my notebook. i tried to recover it with hp recovery but it said "data is not valid.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI just purchased a new Pavilion m7-1015dx Laptop and need to make the System Recovery Discs ... (which I realize restores the Laptop to factory default).. btw, I've already created the System Repair Disc.
However, I read an article about creating a System Backup Image that allows you to Recovery EVERYTHING if lost, all your installed programs, etc.
First Question ::: if I do the System Backup IMAGE ... Do I still need to create the System Recovery disc's (mfg's default) also??
The Second Question ::: If I create the System Recovery discs do I still need that Recovery Partition ??
I am really really wanting to partition my C: drive ... it's huge plus I hate seeing storage folders intermingled with system folders .. Currently using a Symbol/Character to separate them.
As of now, I can't partition the C:drive as all partitions are used.. max is 4 and I've got 4 .... C:drive, System Partition, HPTools Partition, and Recovery Partition.
I have an HP Pavilion dv6000 and run Windows Visa Home Edition.I wanted to restore my laptop to its factory settings but the Recovery Manager wouldn't work. When I clicked on it it would just restart the computer without anything else happening. I then right clicked on the computer >manage> disk manager and made the recovery partition active. When I rebooted the computer it began showing:Bootmgr is missingPress Ctrl+Alt+DeleteWhich of course leads back to the same message after te computer reboots. I can't access F8 key. Only F10 (Bios) works. I don't have a recovery or installation CD as it didn't come with the laptop when I purchased it.Is there anyway I can change the active partition back to the C drive, this disabling the recovery partition? I read that it was possible to access disk manager from cmd prompt window, but I don't know how to access it since the F8 key won't work (makes just a bipping noise when pressed)?I am also out of the country so can't mail my laptop to HP to have it fixed.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've made a backup when I bought the notebook Aspire V3-771G. After that, I've installed Win 7 with my own serial key. All partitions I deleted. Right now I want to recover system to factory default but I haven't recovery disk nor recovery partition. I've got only backup five files ended with .NFB extensión and one with .CAL extensión. I've tested ghost programs and backup software but none of them could read backup files. Is there any solution for this without buying the recovery disks ?
View 1 Replies View RelatedHDD broke. I bought new one and recovery cds. BUT my aspire V3-551G never boots from cd. Copied system disk to flash and that boots but no way to get it to recognize recovery disk 1. Is the fault in bios, physical dvd drive, or recovery software?
Can I (or should i):
A. edit some file in usb system disk to get it to cooperate
B. update bios
C. move a dvd drive from other laptop
D. get usb cd drive (tried didnt work)
E. get other usb flash hdd (as if that changes things somehow)
F. Move HDD to other laptop and either boot or work through windows there
G. Find acer accepted laptop fixer (how)
If needed be in the future, could I use a recovery flash drive created on Pavilion 15 Windows 8.1 64 bits for recovery on a second computer with same operating system (Pavilion 17 Windows 8.1 64 bits). I just want to avoid having to buy a second expensive usb key, I paid 75 euros for the first one.

I ordered the recovery cd/dvd to restore it to factory settings. after a 6-7hr loading it comes up with Recovery Mgr say's recovery attempt failed and will not let me get past it. View 7 Replies View RelatedMy hp pavilion g7 froze yesterday after saying it couldn't connect to internet. I have tried to reboot. The hp logo comes on and then dot circle for about three min. Then the screen goes blank, but it is still on, you can see bluish light on screen. Any way I hit escape during on and got the screen with options. I ran the run in test and start up test. Both came back with hard disk short DST. Failure. The smart check passed anyway the failure I'd is 64x950-6h9783-mfpx0k-60uc03.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI reinstalled windows 7 home premium on my machine, using the same serial number as the one that came with the laptop (I found the serial number by downloading some software that scanned my computer and told me what it was). After installing windows, it told me that it was not genuine. I imagine that it is because it wasn't a version of Windows that has all that HP software pre-loaded on it. My hard drive still has a "recovery" partition, but what to do with that, or even if I can do anything with it anymore. So how can I make my Windows 7 home premium genuine? Do I have to reinstall another version of windows 7 home premium with the HP software included? Where do I find such download? Since I don't have a recovery disk, can I use that "recovery" partition of my hard drive for something?

View 1 Replies View RelatedA friend brought over her HP Pavilion dv6226us Laptop running VISTA. The hard drive was full and the machine could not be used for anything. Would like to wipe the dirve and start over, but need a VISTA recovery disk for the machine. The D: partition where the backup files from HP resides was removed from the drive so Recovery manager is not an option. Checked the HP support site and there are not recovery disks available for HP for this model laptop with VISTA, at least when I entered all the information on the site it did not list anything.
Is there anything that can be done by copying the correct files from the WINDOWS directory on the C drive.

I'm trying to fix my neighbours computer, it's a Pavilion dm3 and somehow she managed to completly lock the system. When it boots it just asks for the administrator password and will not continue to boot, not even bios menu is available.
I've read some other posts on this forum that the way to unlock it is to post the "halt code" given when 3 passwords have failed, in my case that code is: 51019908
Also, how does one even end up in this state, I've never seen this kind of lockdown before?
2 year old DV7 will not start up it just continually beeps, there are no stuck keys, everything has been unplugged, there is nothing connected. i've tried esc, F8 and F12 nothing happens....
View 5 Replies View RelatedI just borrowed my laptop to a friend and he said when he tried to boot it up he go this message.
The message I get when restarting is non-system disk or disk error, press a key to continue over and over.
When I click f10 before boot up there is a harddisk test option, where it says Hard Disk test failed, no disk installed.
So is it either the harddisk or the motherboard thats a problem? AFAIK nothing new was installed leading up to this. The computer is no longer under warranty.
