I have both Intel and ATI switchable graphics in my laptop. I recently reinstalled Windows & If I try to install the ATI drivers from the drivers CD or from the HP website, the laptop hangs on the Windows logo after a restart and I have to do a system restore to fix it. If I try to install just the Intel driver it just gives me an error that says "This computer does not meet the minimum requirement to install the software". I am unable to change the brightness and the resolution is bad. In Device manager both the options under display adapter say "Standard VGA Graphics Adapter", with a yellow error sign over one of them. I am worried if the graphics card is damaged from over heating. Is it possible to disable one of the cards to check functionality of the other?
Purchased Probook 4530S. Win 7. I keep having teh screen print/size resolutiom change when using the touchpad. The pointer seems to "stick" and then when I move it, the screen will either get very smaller or larger. I continually have to hit ctrl + or - to get the screen size back to "normal". Is this something to do with the touchpad settings or pointer?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm having an issue with my HP Probook 4530s where sound sometimes won't play. I downloaded the approriate audio driver for my computer. If I click on an application that needs administrator permissions and the User Account Control pops up, it won't play the system sound like it normally does. If I click on the speaker icon on the bottom right and adjust the volume slider it doesn't make a sound. I've also noticed that when I stream any type of video on the internet, the video won't play until the sound works again. Sometimes the video plays with no sound, then the sound catches up. I've tried many different browsers but the issue keeps happeneing regarless.
When my computer ran Windows 7, the audio worked fine. Videos always played, and system sounds always executed on cue. My motherboard got replaced at the end of last year due to overheating so I don't think it's a hardware issue. The weird thing is that this issue isn't consistent. One minute the sound could be working flawlessly, but two minutes later the sound just stops working.
I could try and capture a video of the issue I'm having and post it on Youtube, but it's difficult since the issue is sporadic. If I do get a video of it, I'll be sure to post the link.
I just installed a new OS and I cannot get on the Internet to download any drivers. Apparently the system does not see the Ethernet card.

I've recently bought an HP Probook430 and installed Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit and I don't seem to be able to change the display brightness, using the fn button+f9/f10 (although volume settings are changed in the same method smoothly).
Although the brightness settings don't seem to change, this bar does appear when pressing fn+f9/f10. What should I do in order to make the display brightness settings changable?
Was this ever resolved? I am having the same issue on the same computer that I cannot manually adjust the screen brightness using the function + F2 or function + F3 screen brightness keys.

I don't know what is happening! In the morning, I was able to use the wireless connection of my laptop! Suddenly I cannot find any network connection! I did reformat the laptop already, and went to bios set up, restored it but nothing happen! I also took out the battery and disconnected the AC Power, pressed the power button for 30 seconds, as read in the Internet to at least reset but it does not work for me!

i did an upgrade from windows 7 professional to a lisenced windows 8.1, after the upgrade i discovered in my laptop within the device manager that 2 unkown devices under other devices are missing and i dont even know what devices are they and which is missing.
I bought a new ProBook 4530s less than 2 weeks ago. It is running Windows 7 64 bit. I was using it today on battery power when it shut down unexpectedly. Apparently the battery was low. I was listening to music and did not hear any low battery warning. Certainly, there was no popup message. I plugged in the charger and restarted the computer. Now I see an icon on the bottom right of the screen that apparently means No Battery is Detected.
The yellow light on the left side of the laptop next to the power cord is flashing. I did some research online and tried removing and replacing the battery several times. No change. Originally, I was unable to start the computer from the battery at all. Now I find that I have enough power that I can start from the battery, so it must be getting some power in spite of the icon. I have now restarted several times, plugged in and on battery. I always get the No Battery message and the flashing yellow light.
I have looked at Device Manager, and it says that the battery is fine.
I am using ProBook 4530s. Last year I have installed Microsoft Home Professional 64 bit. Yesterday, I delete the partition of my linux system and after that I am getting the following error;

I also followed the steps for recovery, but failed. How? I put window DVD and restart it, after performing the initial steps, On the Install screen I click "Recovery option". I got the message the I have Window 7 Installed. After clicking next, it says that the window resovery option is not compatable with window. What to do in this case. I install this window in my home country now i am in China, where every window product is in Chinese. Second I have much more research data any i do not wish clean format in any case.
I have a HP ProBook 4530s, using Windows 7 64-bit OS, Intel Core i3-2310M CPU (2.10 GHz).My laptop is about 21 months old and I am facing some problems when puting my laptop into hibernate mode. Everything was fine for a long time - that is, when I put it in the hibernate mode it turned off and when I pressed the power on button it resumed. However, that isn't the case any longer.Now when I put it in the hibernate mode, it (usually) goes hibernating and after few seconds it turns back on (all by itself!). Sometimes it hibernates for 10 or 20 minutes (or even more) and then again, it turns back on all by itself!This problem just started occuring, I didn't install or update or do anything.

View 4 Replies View RelatedThis auto brightness problem is been bothering me for a long time now, and i can't find any fix for it at all. The display goes:
- Bright when having on screen a white web page, document, picture
- and it display dims down when having on screen a dark web page/ document or picture
Note 1: I changed the settings and Turn off Auto Brightness in windows 8 advanced power plan settings .
Note 2: I tried to go disable the AMD Vari-Bright but the windows 8 AMD catalyse control center, but it doesn't have that option to turn in off .
Note 3: I did disable the Sensor Monitoring Service in services.msc menu .. but still didn't do the trick :/
Note 4: I did disabled Intel Display Power saving Technology in intel's graphic and media Control Panel and .. with all this, still, the auto brightness problem isn't solved :/
Now .. what to do, with all this attempts and still can't get rid of it, i start losing hope i can use my laptop without the screen changing brightness on its own, watching a movie and browsing the web with the screen flickers to adapter to the background....
