I have a problem with my Lenovo IdeaPad S206. Display isn't works correctly: sometimes it turns dark, especcialy when opening/closing notebook.
I think it's problem with LCD cable, but warranty period has timed out.
Today i bought an Inspiron 5547 and i have an issue when closing and opening the lid. The issue is get screen artifacts like if were pressing the screen with my finger. Is this normal?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI just got my new Z710 today, and if the screen tilts too far back (not excessively far, maybe a few degrees past 90), the screen will turn black. If I leave the screen in this position, the keyboard lights will turn off too. Once I tilt the screen forward and click or hit a key, I'm greeted by the lock screen, and have to enter my password again.

All of a sudden, when I undocked it (after shutting down normally), the only thing that appeared on the display was a whitish image containing a dark grey vertical band (left), which happens to be the Lenovo splash screen background! The laptop runs perfectly fine when docked because it attaches to an external monitor. I tried fiddling with the Yoga's display panel, rotating through its various configurations and, after a while, a partial windows screen did appear although it flickered and, even still, nothing displayed properly in that left most vertical strip! View 2 Replies View RelatedI purchased this Ideapad Z50-70 laptop two days back. It was DOS based so I had to install Windows 8.1 OS myself. After installing the OS, I installed all the drivers for this laptop.
The display of the laptop is set to Full HD resolution i.e. 1920*1080. However, it doesn't look as sharp and crips as a normal HD display should be. The text and other things looks blurred. Also, the contrast of the screen doesn't seem well. Though the resolution is set to Full HD, I'm not feeling the quality smoothness and sharpness of the full HD display.
I have just bought a new Ideapad Z510 (Core i7 4702MQ, GeForce GT 745M, display Full HD, 1TB HDD+SSD. I have a strange problem: when I connect an external display via HDMI it goes blank after some minutes. THe same display connected via VGA is ok. I have tried two different HDMI cable and the behaviour was the same.
Video drivers for both Intel integrated GPU and NVIDIA discrete one are update.
I own a Dell Inspiron 3521, and I'd been having an issue with apps not opening and closing when I do try. I went to fix this error. That's when I made a grave mistake. Somewhere along the line of me trying to fix it, I messed with something I shouldn't have and when I finished with my task, I was told to restart the computer to activate the settings. After I turned it back on it seemed normal up to the point after I saw the dell logo. It went black. At first I made the assumption that since I changed settings that it was still trying to configure them. But soon after, I saw my mouse and a little signal flash in the bottom left of my screen. So I checked around and found out that I needed to reinstall windows with disc or USB. But I don't have access to either of those.

One time I got to the safe mode screen by hitting F8 but now that is not engaging either. I removed the RAM and cleaned them well. I also tried removing any left over power static by pressing power for about a minute. View 4 Replies View RelatedShortly after I received my laptop, I installed a third-party battery monitor, BatteryCare, to monitor the battery in the laptop because I'd used it on previous software and liked having a second source of information. I've been running the laptop like a desktop for the last few months though and havent had to pay any attention to batter life, since the thing is always plugged in so I decided to delete BatteryCare.
The uninstall went fine, but when I restarted the computer I noticed that the icon displaying remaining battery life did not reappear. I went digging to see if the uninstallation might have uninstalled a driver but I couldn't find anything indicating a problem like this. I still have the Energy Monitor - just nothing showing up much juice is left in the battery.
Any pointers on what drivers/devices I might have to reinstall to get power monitor icon back. I checked the Driver Matrix, here, but I couldn't find anything about solution. Should I just reinstall the Energy Management utility?
i found that whenever i move the LID to close it, open it or just move it for no reason the LED will blink.
Already had screen replaced, keyboard and etc.

Windows 8.1.I've had this message saying "display driver stopped responding and has recovered" while on startup on my notification area. It's been quite a some time I have seen this messsage during startups. And, my laptop seems more slow during startup. I've tried "sfc/scannow" but the system seems fine. I did Disk cleanup and optimization regularly. No third-party software installed.
My laptop heats up. Its working fine not too hot during Morning and Evening, but heats up high during day time. I'm not using laptop cooler now, but I've ordered one. My laptop is getting old.
I am trying to see what might be wrong with the Dell Latitude 2110. When I close the lid power shuts off. You can not turn it back on unless you take out the batter and power supply then plug it back in. The power settings in windows xp are all to never shut off. I also replaced the power jack and it did not change. I did a dell test and it gave me a error 2000-0412 auxilary lcd cable not detected error 0412 and error 0411 lcd board not detected error code 2000-0411. I have a display and everything just have the power problem when shutting the lid.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy Yoga 2 Pro has very often problems to activate the keyboard when I open the display.
This is what I do:
- working with the Yoga 2 Pro
- close all applications and after that I close the display
- after a while (can be a few minutes or several hours) I open the display
- it take a few seconds until the display is turned on (that's expected)
- in at least 50% the keyboard stays deactivated. The backlight can't be turned and the notebook does not notice any pressed key. I'm unable to log in :-(
- I need to close the display again, need to wait a few seconds - and when I open the display for a second time, the keyboard gets activated - not always, but most often. But sometime the keyboard stays disabled although I try the described procedure many time. If that happens I need to reboot the machine.
All drivers are updated.

I have a brand new Thinkpad Yoga (20CD-CT01WW), running windows 8.1 64-bit, 8g RAM. Intel Core i7-4600U @ 2.10Ghz / 2.70Ghz
When using any program in desktop mode (first noticed it on Chrome, then Quicken, but really applies to any use), the cursor will randomly jump across the screen, usually to the upper right, and then without clicking, will close the window I'm working on, often losing my work. Sometimes I'll get random right-click menus without clicking the mouse buttons. I am using the track-point primarily, so thinking it might be inadvertent contact with the touchpad, I disabled all touch-pad functionality, but the problem persists.
I ran Norton Internet security, AdAware, and Malwarebytes to look for viruses but didn't find any problems. Just ran Lenovo update, and downloaded the most recent Ultra-Nav Driver. Now both touch-pad and track-point are using default settings, but the problem still persists.
I'm wondering if this a hardware or driver problem, or a windows 8.1 problem?
how can I change the notebook's settings so when I close the lid it does not hibernate or sleep or whatnot? Is there a way to make it so it just turns off the screen and leaves everything else on?

I recently bought a Lenovo G50-70 and the only main issue i'm facing is that it won't shut down. When I press shut down, the shutting down icon shows up and then the screen turns off but the laptop remains on (the lights below the touchpad remain on and i can still hear the fans running)...
I decided once to leave it like this and see if it'll shut down later. I came back to find it still on and it was hot and the fans were making more noise than they usually do.
To shut it down all i can do is forcefully shut it down by pressing the power button which i would like to avoid doing...
I have recently purchased Lenovo G50-70 laptops for my office. One of them started to act awkward from yesterday. When I tried to switch it ON, it starts for and then immediately (less than 1 sec) turns off. I have tried to start it several times. I have tried to removed battery, RAM and then tried directly on power, but of no use.
Yesterday it started once and then I was able to use it for like 4 hours, but it didn't starts today morning.
When I plug in the AC adapter, my x1 shuts off right away. I have to reset the time in the bios to get it to work again. This happened right after I changed the keyboard. Now, it seems to be permanent issue. I thought it was an adapter issue but I have two adapters and both work fine.

I work for sometime and suddenly it automatically shutsdown (it doesn't show th shutting down progress instead it turns powers off the laptop at that instant). Here are my specs:-

View 10 Replies View RelatedMonth ago x200 works well. I leave it on table for a mont and do not use it at all. But now, x200 turns on only with inserted AC adapter charger. It does not turn on with only inserted battery (without AC adapter charger), just nothing happend when I press power button.
But battery charges and program "Thinkpad Power Manager" detects battery and it's charge. Battery is ok (tested on another X200 and works well).
I have a w520 that is out of warranty. From time to time, the screen just turns off while I'm using it (no, not a dimming/screen off during idle isse). Everything else works perfectly though. I have to shake the laptop (lol, seriously...) and the screen comes back on! It's been getting more and more frequent. What gives? Is this a known issue? Is there some loose connection somewhere inside? What should I check?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a W500 running Windows 7 which unexpectedly turns off, usually when asleep but sometimes also while on. The turn off happens as if the power is lost (say, the battery/AC cord are yanked out). After a turn off like that, I sometimes need to reconnect the battery and the AC cord. Did some reading here and elsewhere on the web and came upon the electrostatic suggestion. Was able to get it to turn back on at least a few times by touching the underside of the laptop, but that worked inconsistently.
Since it mostly happens when the unit is asleep, I pretty much ruled out the temperature and software issues.
Decided to check out the memory section pin bending solution. My laptop has to have it's palm rest taken off to access the RAM modules. People kept referring to some RAM door pins but since mine doesn't have a special RAM door, I bent some pins on the bottom of the palm rest and so far, not power loss but too early to tell.
I just got couple of days old Lenovo IdeaPad z50-75, running on AMD FX-7500.First I jsut now noticed that my CPU runs at 1.07 Ghz, before it was always over 2 Ghz or so which was good ... but maybe I touched something some where in powr settings or something and now it stays on 1.07 even when cpu pretty much utilised. I have set power plan to high performance and also Energy manager is set to high performance mode and Conservation mode is on. why it doesn't clock itself up ? I feel that it is slower than before.
